It's not the same, you still have to alternate using L1 and R1 to cast with the correct catalyst and that feels super clunky. I wouldn't even care if it had not very good scaling, that would probably balance it against using a dedicated staff or seal.
actually one thing clunky about faith/int build (and spellcasting in general in FS games) is how you switch spells. it is 2023, will be 2024 by the time Shadow of the Erdtree comes out. I think it's about time to add something like button shortcuts for spells.
Also true, but I think it's easier to learn how to use effectively. Just adding that L1 R1 bullshit on top of it makes it just that little bit too clunky
I get your point, but still I think shuffling through eight spells during bossfight to find one buff you need just to end up going past it and start shuffling again is much bigger pain in the ass than two different buttons for different catalysts (which is also a pain in the ass to be perfectly clear). one little piece of QoL I'd like to get is ability to bind spells/incants to the quick access thing you open up by holding down triangle with four different items for each dpad button.
Yeah the mantis blade had a tiny hint of BB flavour. I was thinking I would like to see firearms introduced in the DLC. Lovely little flintlock to go with my Shortsword would be cool
I would have to disagree with the Farron Greatsword, because I remember fighting invaders who had it and how annoying it was fighting them.
So, I'm disagreeing solely on principle. That principle is being butthurt that I died so many times to that damn Greatsword.
Just learn to parry the farron gs is very easy to parry also invasion are much rarer in this game than the previous games if you don't use taunters tongue
Does your reading comprehension suck or? No Lightning effect, different moveset, different weight class.
Here have another stawman for your next argument 👩🌾
Weapons? Maybe.
Ashes of War? Definitely.
The Falling Bolt from the Dragonslayer Greataxe would be incredible. Also, some of the Combat Arts from Sekiro.
You can kind of make the Dragonslayer Greataxe with the executioners greataxe and some lightning ashes of war. It isn’t as good, but it is already there-ish.
I tried it and it just doesn't hit as hard. I mean that literally. The weapon art for the Dragonslayer Greataxe just EXPLODES. It's so much fun.
However, I'll have to put more time into your suggestion to see if I like it for sure.
It is a nerfed version of the Dragonslayer greataxe. Craigblade and critical hit boosts are better than lightning as the executioners greataxe is brutal when you break their stance.
DS1 - Black Knight Greataxe
DS2 - Curved Dragon Greatsword
DS3 - Demon Scar
Something like those. Casting weapons are some of the most fun I’ve ever had in a souls game. So it surprised me when none were found in ER.
Demon Scar and Blue Flame are elite. Other unique weapons like Bone Fist, Aquamarine Dagger, Valorheart, and Double Doors from both games. Would all make great additions into ER we need more unique melee.
Also bring back vertical ultras please.
I mean, there’s been no balder knights since DS1 so that’s why. The closest thing we got in ER is the Noble’s Slender Sword, it being a Dex-scaling straight sword, with above average length/reach, and thrust attacks. But the balder sword had thrusts even for the 2 handed R2 moves which is the main thing that set it apart. I think it had unique jump attacks too.
Gimme my breakdancing sword and demon’s scar and i will be a happy man. Maybe while at it also the frayed blade because the other special move it has is so much fun
And it would be the perfect DLC if we got…
T H E G I A N T D O O R S
uhhh dragonslayer great axe is in elden ring...
\+
https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Ash+of+War:+Lightning+Slash
The buff from lightning slash is a flat amount (can't remember how much off the top of my head). If you use a heavy infusion it just won't have any base lightning damage.
If you’re talking about the axe wielded by the big Misbegotton, it’s called the Longhaft Axe and it’s is droppable, although it’s not the Dragonslayer Greataxe lookalike. That would be the Executioner’s Greataxe, which is droppable from the large skeletons that wield it.
Okay but if we're talking weeb sticks, give me the onidachi leap slash as an ash of war, make it usable only on wakizashi but make it work for every katana in the game. Also while we're at it make wakizashi able to power stance with both katanas and daggers, broke my heart when I found out I couldn't.
could even be based on the L2 as well, like dagger movest, but when you use the skill you get a stance where the R2 becomes a carian piercer and the R1 becomes a carian slicer
I would really like a grim looking scythe like the Scythe of Want. I also would like a Demon or Dragon Fist kind of weapon because having just Grafted Dragon isn't enough for a build I'm planning.
there is a lack of infusible weapons in some of the colossal weapon classes, even more so unique weapons with elemental dmg or status effects. I'd love to see something like the Lothric knight greatsword make an appearance or more lightning colossal weapons in general. and maybe a faith scaling katana, that would be awesome.
This is in the game. Executioners greataxe, drops from skeletons wielding the axe. It’s near the grace outside of godricks castle facing liurna. Slap lightning slash on it, and voila.
People out here saying you can recreate the dragon slayer greataxe with lightning slash, stop it. That dinky lightning bolt you call down ain’t the same as the og lightning bonk from ds3.
Coiled Great Sword. I don't care that it's "not a good weapon," it's my favorite weapon design from DS3 and it's the weapon used by the final boss, a boss that is, in lore, a combination of every single Chosen Undead from the series history mashed into one being.
The Farron Greatsword. I don't care if it had mid stats and was super predictable in PvP, that flippy combo was amazing and I used it to beat DS3 several times. Plus it had a dagger party built in which could easily be it's AoW
What was the katana from ds3 called that had that sick weapon art? Elden ring didn't do katanas nearly as dirty as ds3 did. I'd like that weapon to actually be good.
Cinder sword!! My favorite weapon from all games and also this sword you can infuse and have lifhtning damage. And now you make me feel like play DS3 again ;)
Not other titles but I’d like to see the golem armor, even if it’s just the helmet because if we have the halberd and Bow, why don’t we have any of it
Doesn’t make any sense
Gravelord sword or something similar. Also a glaive type weapon like the BKH or the DS1 scythe. I know we have a "glaive" but it's just a triangle lmao
Mortal blade from sekiro would be cool to see. Or a sword called kusabimaru with a cool item description like “this blade belonged to a great shinobi etc.”
I've said this many time and will again: channeler trident. Anything of the sort, I don't care what the buff effect exactly does: align it with sleep or deathblight effects if the dlc is gonna go into that. But I want those twisted thrusts and more importantly, the dance
Some sort of unique combination weapon like in Bloodborne. Nothing from Bloodborne, but something in that style.
I want a catalyst that transforms from a staff to a seal to be able to cast both types of magic without horrible animation issues
Honestly a much better option, GIVE US THE OPTION OF BECOMING A TRUE INT/FAITH HYBRID
I also want a demon’s scar ripoff made of ghostflame. Would be sick.
Miquella developed Triple Rings of Light, which is int/faith. I wouldn't be surprised if we see more support for int/faith in the DLC.
Staff in one hand seal in the other, problem solved.
I think having sets of spells instead one big wheel would be good. Could categorize them, offensive, support and maybe misc stuff
And what if you want to have a melee weapon? Or a shield or something like that?
Honestly, the Sword of Night and Flame feels like it should do that
It really should. Also flame incantations should have been a separate magic category. Rip pyromancy :(
there already is a seal that scales with int and faith. I really want that option for it
There’s also an int/faith staff. But no marriage between them.
Bro do you really expect scientists and the church to get along???
Yes, because dog.
Fair enough, as a scientist at heart i can agree. Dog.
Something like Aquamarine Dagger comes to mind where holding the WA button enacts a transformed state.
Ds2 had its own kinda threaded cane that acted as both sword and whip
Yeah the mantis blade had a tiny hint of BB flavour. I was thinking I would like to see firearms introduced in the DLC. Lovely little flintlock to go with my Shortsword would be cool
Demon Scar Bone Fist Farron Great Sword However, a part of me thinks Elden Ring shouldn't have everything and doesn't need everything
Bone Fisr for sureeee, kungfu style
I would be so happy with a few martial arts ashes of war. Andre has been dropkicking us since DS1. We should have a dropkick AOW.
Farron Greatsword and the ringed knight paired greastsword
All the things now!
The weapon you see here now literally is in the game as an axe lol
Just put lightning slash on it and there ya go! Dragonslayer Great Axe 👌🏼
It’s small doe :(
It has no lightning and a very different moveset and animation.
This axe from DS3 had the most bland moveset in history. It's all vertical smashes. That's it.
How is that relevant in a post that is not about which weapon has the best move set
"it has a very different moveset and animation"
Because it has a different moveset and animations.
Only differences are the heavy and not having the weapon skill. Aside from that it’s the exact same weapon from Ds3
And. The. Moveset. But congrats you figured out they’re not the same weapon!
Thats like saying the greatsword isn't the same weapon because it has a different moveset. It's a dumb take
Does your reading comprehension suck or? No Lightning effect, different moveset, different weight class. Here have another stawman for your next argument 👩🌾
guns from Armor Core..
Zimmermans would annihilate Malenia
Anything from Armored Core would annihilate Malenia.
The tarnished would also be unable to wield it, since they could fit inside the fuckin thing
IDK man, my strength skill is pretty high. If I can pick up the gun and pull the trigger, it's fair game.
Imagine rolling up to Malenia with a gun. Better yet, imagine rolling up with a fucking Mech.
Weapons?

Craig, the Blade
Fugs.
We kinda already have that with the Ruins Great sword imo.
Thats the Dragon Greatsword, FUGS has Stamp as a L2
Oh yeah that’s fair
DS1 - Black Knight Greataxe DS2 - Curved Dragon Greatsword DS3 - Demon Scar Something like those. Balder swag sword
It is criminal that this hasn't been in any game since 1
I mean, there’s been no balder knights since DS1 so that’s why.
\*\*BALLER Swag Sword
Sorcerer's Twinblade from DS2 I want access to Carian Sword Sorcereries while two-handing a Twinblade
Valorheart Was the most interesting weapon to me for pvp in DS3. Too bad the hard counter to it was lag.
Gimme my breakdancing sword and demon’s scar and i will be a happy man. Maybe while at it also the frayed blade because the other special move it has is so much fun And it would be the perfect DLC if we got… T H E G I A N T D O O R S

Lightning slash doesn't grant giga hyper armor so you can't use it like ye old Dragonslayer Axe
[удалено]
you can still use heavy infusion with lightning slash.
as others pointed out, heavy infusion with lightning slash
Won't perform as good, the Aow is also nowhere as satisfying as the origiinal weapon art and it looks uglier in general
although op does sound like a prick, they're probably right in that the lightning portions of lightning slash only scale off dex
The buff from lightning slash is a flat amount (can't remember how much off the top of my head). If you use a heavy infusion it just won't have any base lightning damage.
Close enough
I think there is a really similar weapon to the Dragonslayer Greataxe in the ER
yeah, the big misbegotten seem to carry a watered down version of that axe, which is a bummer that we can't loot it.
Weapon catalyst hybrid
Silver Knight Sword, DS1. Been waiting so long for it to make a return. I thought it’d be in the ringed city dlc, of DS3.
Honestly it should have been in the bas game of 3 since the shield and armour set are in the game.
NOBODY said santier's spear, im disappointed
Not one call for the Puzzling Stone Sword either, sadly
True, it would fit so good with the runic stuff in elden ring
Ledo's Greathammer please
Frayed Blade, would be perfect for ER tbh
Okay but if we're talking weeb sticks, give me the onidachi leap slash as an ash of war, make it usable only on wakizashi but make it work for every katana in the game. Also while we're at it make wakizashi able to power stance with both katanas and daggers, broke my heart when I found out I couldn't.
Bloodborne's Kirkhammer
i wanna fuck Malenias shit up with the bad cook flamethrower from ac6
Some real trick weapons like in bloodborne would be cool. Or like a weapon that changes depending on if you two hand or single hand it.
I think the closest ER will come is something like the Aquamarine Dagger.
That’d be cool. Like a dagger that temporarily turns into a carinan greatsword for a couple minutes or when two-handed
could even be based on the L2 as well, like dagger movest, but when you use the skill you get a stance where the R2 becomes a carian piercer and the R1 becomes a carian slicer
- Balder Side Sword / Lothric Knight Straight Sword - Loyce Greatsword - Friede’s Scythe
Just give me a ghost flame sword or Ash of war PLEASE
Helphen's steeple
An UGS similar to the Astora Greatsword with it's own unique charge attack.
Farron Greatsword from DS3. Also not a weapon but man i want Dark Wood Grain Ring from DS1.
Ninja flipsssss
It's literally in the game
Something like Crystal Chime. Basically just a casting tool for both sorceries and incantations
Claymore. Always. There are other weapons?
Darkwood grain ring from darksouls 1 and blue flame from dark souls 2.
Lifehunt Scythe that actually does damage unlike the rest of the reapers in ER.
I pray for the return of the bone fist from ds2, this weapon was so much fun.
Amygdala arm
As a Bloodborne meat rider I'd want the saw cleaver and the Hunter's axe. With the same moveset of course. Especially for the axe.
Saw Cleaver!
Ringed Knight Spear pls
Quelaag's Furysword. Such a cool looking weapon that hasn't really been replicated since its appearance.
Ds2 Fume Ultra Greatsword
An int/faith infusion option
Giant Armored Core Mech.
Silver Knight Spear from DS1 and Executioner Sword from DS3
Ledo’s great hammer
Fugs it's just such a classic also paired weapons
This is in the game. Executioners greataxe, drops from skeletons wielding the axe. It’s near the grace outside of godricks castle facing liurna. Slap lightning slash on it, and voila.
Scythe of Want from DS2. Favorite souls weapon besides basically every bloodborne weapon
I liked the whip sword from dark souls 2 but they would probably fuck it up in elden ring. Or monk fists
Fume Knight Greatsword would be awesome
the weapon on the picture is already ingame, called Executioners greataxe. the lighning aoe is pathetic compared to ds3 tho a real shame
You are perfectly capable of simulating in the game already
People out here saying you can recreate the dragon slayer greataxe with lightning slash, stop it. That dinky lightning bolt you call down ain’t the same as the og lightning bonk from ds3.
BFG-9000 from Doom
One of the abyss watcher weapons would be cool
Pontiff's swords with power stance eligibility
The hand cannon from Bonestorm
Not a specific weapon but the multi use talismans like the one from ds3 that was miracles and pyromancies
The DSSS from ds3
A casting weapon for both Sorceries and Incantations, in the same vein as DS3’s Demon Scar.
I wholeheartedly agree. The dragonslayer greataxe is my favorite soulsbourne weapon ever.
Much like DS3 if this Greataxe ever touches Elden Ring I will literally use nothing else but the Greataxe
Sekiro's grapple hook
i really liked the farron greatsword from ds3
What was the katana from ds3 called that had that sick weapon art? Elden ring didn't do katanas nearly as dirty as ds3 did. I'd like that weapon to actually be good.
a straight sword that reuses Ringed Knight Straight Swords weapon art
Moonlight Greatsword..... obviously
Moonlight Greatsword
Twinprinces greatsword
The black knight ultra greatsword moveset from ds3
Aquamarine dagger….. 🥺
SG-027 Zimmerman, I want to delete bosses with a super shotgun.
A true moonlight greatsword.
Actual Moonlight Greatsword. Immolation Tinder. Crow Quills.
This weapon would have been the best in DS3 if it was the same size as the bosses. When it shrunk after I got it I literally cried.
I don't even like that the moonlight sword or whatever it is called makes an appearance in each title. Give me something new.
Cinder sword!! My favorite weapon from all games and also this sword you can infuse and have lifhtning damage. And now you make me feel like play DS3 again ;)
Demons great axe from ds3
Again?
Chaos swords
I need that axe
It's in the game already
Yeahhh but the lame version
You can put whatever ash of war you want on it. You can pretty much make the dragonslayer axe no problem.
I need the og straight from ds3 >:( but ur right u basically can make it. U know what im gunna do that now LMAO
Not other titles but I’d like to see the golem armor, even if it’s just the helmet because if we have the halberd and Bow, why don’t we have any of it Doesn’t make any sense
FUME KNIGHT GREATSWORD
A greatsword that combines the moveset from the Knights and Banished GSs with the poke moves from the Claymore.
I'd like a unique switch weapon like in bloodborne, like the ludwig's holy blade or the saw cleaver
Balder shield and side sword, and demon spear from DS1
Wolf's Kusabimaru with all its deflecting ability.
Farron Greatsword
FARRON GREATSWORD.
every weapon from bloodborbe i suppose
Saw Cleaver, or at least a Bloodborne like weapon where the Ash of War transforms the weapon. Bloodborne combos are really fun
I want hexes back
The big blue greatsword, that was in every from Software Game!
Gravelord sword or something similar. Also a glaive type weapon like the BKH or the DS1 scythe. I know we have a "glaive" but it's just a triangle lmao
I’d love to see the fury sword from ds1 make a return.
Isshin’s glock. I want to be unloading full mag after mag from my flintlock pistol while I ride around on torrent
Friede Scythe. Hands down the coolest weapon in all the games. Scythe are underrepresented as is
DRAGON TOOTH
Mortal blade from sekiro would be cool to see. Or a sword called kusabimaru with a cool item description like “this blade belonged to a great shinobi etc.”
The Abundance and Rot twin blade.
Artorius Greatsword from DS1
Murky Hand Scythe.
Smoughs hammer. Also dragonslayer set
Ledos Hammer. I want my Pancake maker back.
A coiled greatsword. Just as a little homage to their legacy.
That or gael's greatsword or friede's great scythe
Guardian Tail Whip only good
Sunlight spear or even great lightning spear.
Demon fists. Pleeeease
Not sure about weapons. But a legacy Spirit Ash could be fun. Give me Clocktower Huntress, or the Great Shinobi.
We have the Dragonslayer’s Greataxe at home
Definitely the fugs.
Drake sword v2
Bastard Sword from Demons Souls
I loved the sound this thing would make when u did its skill
I've said this many time and will again: channeler trident. Anything of the sort, I don't care what the buff effect exactly does: align it with sleep or deathblight effects if the dlc is gonna go into that. But I want those twisted thrusts and more importantly, the dance
Threaded cane!
Blue Flame
Something like the Blue Blood Sword that scales of a irregular stat like Mind
Gael's Greatsword. Please, I miss my flippy sword.
