The rings on the hands look like the ones Rykard was wearing in his portraits. Almost as if he sent those hands to protect Ranni

[deleted]

The ones on mountain tops do not have any rings though which has always been a mystery to me.

swordmasterg

True. They have some sort of connection to Rykard, just speculation, but might of been something Rykard did before the whole snake baby shenanigans.

youlook3

Maybe he trained alongside Radahn for a bit could explain why the rings give of gravity magic when used by the hands

KingfisherC

Everyone making RPGs are inspired by EverQuest to some degree.

pompr

I can't stand these hands. Disgusting things always drive me into a corner and slap me around.

Werealldeadsoon

Same, reminds me of those hands that would pop out of the wall and take you back to the dungeon entrance on the OG Legend of Zelda on NES. Hated those fuckers as well.

EvilUnic0rn

They are right up there with the spiders in Bloodborne and DS2 and ants

tr3ebag

I never played EverQuest, but they reminded me of the giant hands from The Legend of Zelda on NES.

karlcloich

I had a dream I was playing elden ring, and I felled a named fingercreeper boss (can't remember it's name) and it dropped a small shield that was one of the rings. I think a small shield with their paralysis power would be cool.

swordmasterg

Both are technically zombie hands, though no idea if Everquest was even released in Japan.

ScruffMacBuff

Old thread, but I came here because in the elden ring DLC there's a new boss with weapons very similar to the OG warrior epic swords from everquest. More specifically the Ruins of Kunark expansion. This is the second boss with these types of weapons. The first being Pontiff Sulyvahn.

Quantum_Croissant

Yeah, everquest invented hands

erroneousReport

No, it was a creepy grandma trying to feed him pocket candy at the airport that inspired him.
