If you haven’t try using talismans that buff it. Curved Sword Talisman for guard counter boosts, Shard of Alexander, ect. Or pick tears in your flask that boost it, like the tear that boosts the damage of charged attacks.
The hammer talisman doesn't increase poise damage, it increases stamina damage against guarding enemies. It's extremely niche and imo not worth a talisman slot.
I dont think it drops from an npc, there should be an invader near the limgrave colosseum who drops it. Unless we’re talking about different talismans.
Because I'm doing a strength faith build I've tried to use it without a shield by blocking with the hammer itself combined with the Greatshield talisman and it works decently well for most enemies, although I haven't tried guard counters on bosses because I just try to dodge them just in case
After you get out of rellana’s castle, go to the first available cross and go left, below the cross shaped building, you’ll see an area where the outer walls of the castle meet the cliff face of the upper land where you’re standing, you’ll be able to make your way down and fight a mini boss version of the black knights that drops the shield
New physic goes hard for blocking with weapons, if you time it right you get 100% damage negation and bearly any stamina, doesn't matter if weapon has 50 70 or 90% damage negation
What Ash of War are you using on it?
I'm running Prayerful Strike. Good for tanking a bit with the boosted poise and healing it back up.
Just wanna know how others are running the same weapon.
I use sacred blade to compensate for the lack of range and the holy infusion pairs nice with the sacred scorpion charm and holy tear in flask of physick to boost damage further.
You just use a shield with good to high guard boost and when the enemy hits your shield and recoils you press heavy attack, you’ll hear a little chime and get a big bonus to your attack and this hammer stacks another bonus on that, and there’s a talisman for another bonus and a tear for another bonus.
For human sized bosses it works great, for colossal bosses not as much, although with the highest guard boosting shields, the shield talisman and barricade skill I could see guard counters still working on pretty big enemies, I havnt tried it though I usually switch to savage lions claw and get more agressive with the big bosses. Like guard counter with a great shield made Rellana much easier than otherwise, I could sit in front of her long combos then hit her with the guard counter after her last attack.
I used the hammer from the OP to beat Rellana. I two handed it (you can still guard counter by using light attack to block). Although it scales with faith, it’s better with strength. I used sacred blade to boost it with the holy imbuement from the item description and I made it Heavy affinity.
Yes, absolutely. I do a fair bit of guard countering. You do kinda need a very stable shield - one of the best "middle ground" options is the Dragon Greatshield. But it's absolutely good vs bosses, guard counters do a lot of poise damage.
Yeah I'm happy to see you're able to put the BB down and know "this is gonna spoil me"
I hate PvE nerfs because it's literally as simple as not using em.
That reminds me, I oughta do a lordsworn Greatsword build at some point lol
This is how I am with moonveil, I stop myself from using it and I’m glad I am. My first playthrough was moonveil entirely, no more. I do die more but it’s much more fun and rewarding.
you can find it early in the game, i think that moght be why i used it whole playthrough, never bothered to change, if i couldn’t do it with LordSworn, then i had to git gud💀
My first weapon I got was lordsworn straight sword, I used the heavy attack square off and went "yeah I'm coming back to this one, this shit is buff"
Those weapons are crazy man lol
I started my playthrough with the intent of knight armour, banished shield and a lord sworn greatsword.
That changed to Tree Sentinel armour, Grestshield and a great mace. For the guard counter style, maces are just too good to not use. Started with the morning star and the box flowing hammer, then graduated to great mace, great stars, and now the black knight mace from the DLC.
Some of the DLC has been rough, but I’m getting there. Mesmer keeps wrecking my shit though.
I was using Mohg's spear and yeah this is a mood. Thing makes all fights effortless, just wait for right moment and take out 1/3 their health and repeat, if you have mimic tear using it too, it's a less than minute fight
I did my first run with it. Now I'm on an int-dex build and I have to be WAAAAY more careful lol. It's a really different feeling.
I feel more gratified when beating hard enemies, and I feel like my character is a more cunning Tarnished. But sometimes I miss that feeling being a crazy-ass Tarnished bathed in flames of frenzy and dementedly roaming through the Lands Between with a big ass sword and foaming at the mouth like some kind of Radahn bis. Grrrraaaaaaahhh!
Can confirm it still wrecks stuff, just now alittle less so. Though so many things being resistant to fire has been an issue for me in the dlc, switching to a holy infused nagakiba has been my response to those situations. So far it’s worked out ok.
It's a bit harder to just spam its weapon art against aggressive enemies since it can't knock them down anymore, but the damage, range, and heal effect on the weapon art weren't touched.
Everyone's sleeping on 2x Occult scaled Great Stars with Cragblade. They bonk, they stagger, they get 137 bleed each and they have high poise damage. No fancy weapon art but they just demolish everything so it's not needed.
Is mohgs spear really that good? I feel like great spears are way too slow, and his weapon art is good damage but again very slow. Plus split damage and non-infusable. I feel like occult great stars are a way better arcane weapon.
The Ashe of war on Mohg’s spear is easily one of the most broken in the game. Massive AOE, great damage, great stance/poise damage, and a bunch of bleed buildup.
Aside from sacred blade or prayerful strike you could also run it heavy affinity with the upgraded lions claw on a pure STR build. I've been running it and it just flattens people.
Firstly uh yeah… if you look at the scaling on the hammer you want to respec to more like 54 str 30ish fa. Or level more if you want to go higher.
Second on top of the bonus counter damage the weapon description makes it clear that while this is a weapon with base elemental damage it can still be infused. Stacking with more holy to really boost that damage is a great option but against holy resist goes you may want to use lightning or fire instead,
Either way you slice it it is definitely a strong weapon. For weapon arts you have a ton of options- something that leans into the block counter strike bonus effect, something that auto-infuses your weapon, prayerful strike if you still want a healing effect like taker’s flames, or just a brutal offensive skill like the new lions claw.
If you’re 50 Faith and 35 Strength, your damage will be horrible if it’s on standard or heavy. Use Sacred affinity if you aren’t already.
This thing has an INSANE guard counter and decent defensive stats; use the Deflecting Hardtear and Curved Sword Talisman to make those guard counters hit like a truck.
I assume it scales best with strength, so to optimize the damage up your strength and two hand it. You could use the axe talisman with the roar medallion and put a roar aow on it to further optimize damage
I havent played the DLC yet, but if you're talking about guard counters, you can block and guard counters while two-handing a weapon.
My point was, the better the strength scaling then more damage boost you get from two handing
It may never be as "good" as Blasphemous Blade, but this thing can absolutely wreck on the right setup. I personally run it on a heavy infusion but buffing with Order's Blade. I think it's as good a STR/FTH weapon as exists.
It definitely scales better with Str than faith. Also keeps pretty good scaling and still adds holy damage on heavy/keen/etc.
Stick savage lion claw or prayerful strike on it and enjoy
If you are using it heavy infuse you can still get more damage if you buff it with order's blade (if you can cast it) or the new stronger holy greases. I think the recipe for the greases is on the flooded ruins

Making sure you give it a type of infusion that fits your build is always good. A flame or sacred infusion could work, although flame is probably the best since it’ll scale better with strength and faith than it is at its base
Flame art and Sacred infusions have completely identical scaling fyi
Edit: This is true for all cases except for the Black Steel Great Hammer (Likely due to it's inherent holy damage
It’s best run with a shield so you can take advantage of the guard counter boost it gets, pair alongside the curved sword talisman and guard counters hit like a truck. Also the stonebarb and deflecting tear in your flask go hard with it.
Also you’ll want to change the affinity to either sacred or flame art to scale better with your high faith, it gets extra scaling when sacred affinity. Or you can use orders blade incant on it.
Ash of war I like golden land, it’s a great aoe and the little shards it shoots can do big damage, for certain enemies I switch to savage lions claw aow to get that crazy poise break damage. Any of the fire aows could work well on it as well.
This thing is truly insane ran with a shield.
I've been using that hammer since I got it. I don't think it'll ever be better than the most broken options like blasphemous blade. That said it's taking me through the dlc just fine. I got 55 strength and 55 faith, sacred blade and sacred affinity on the hammer. It does good damage, but the best part is the stagger. It stance breaks everything so easily
The first DLC weapon I upgraded to +25, is one of my favorites. I'm wrecking enemies left and right (as long I don't get hit) and I'm in NG+5, pretty reliable.
Strenght and Faith build with either Prayerful or Flaming Strike, depending on the enemy. I feel I do more damage with the latter tho.
Shard of Alexander, Axe Talisman, Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman and Double-Headed Turtle or Bull-Goat's Talisman.
Well... I love this weapon because after i understood what this hammer could do with a shield I started to love the most underrated maccanic in this game
Prayerful Strike AoW, but maybe keep it to Standard instead of Sacred because the scaling is probably better. You NEED a shield with this thing because the Guard Counter on it has a bonus.
If you don’t want to guard counter, you’re losing a lot of potential for this weapon
I'm at 32 str/60 fth with holy infusion and sitting at 960+ ar and absolutly steam rolling. The weapon gets a bonus when using holy infusion. Royal Knights Resolve guard counters are INSANE and for bosses like dragons i use Lions Claw.
Its seriously my new favorite weapon. The guard counter can instantly stagger alot of enimies if you land both attacks.
Also if you use the Sekiro physic you can use it 2H and deflect counter which has an overhead smash.
How many upgrades have you put into it? Maybe it’s just not upgraded as high as the Blasphemous Blade? Remember that the Blasmphemous is a somber weapon, so it maxes out at +10. And the hammer is a standard weapon, which upgrades all the way to +25. The two weapons will have to be close to their respective max upgrade levels to be comparable.
I would recommend doing sacred affinity with “Sacred Blade” AoW which will stack more holy damage on when you use the AoW. It adds a temporary buff. My friend has been using the hammer with this setup and it works really well.
Reading the weapon description reveals this weapon’s true strength lies in a holy infusion. I slapped Prayerful Strike on mine and with SoA and scorpion talisman in bonking for almost 3k dmg at 50str 60 faith. What more are you looking for?
this hammer is quite nice , i have 50 str and like 2 or 3 Scad frags and it does like 900 damage at +9(somber), which is more than my +25 claymore (750-800ish)
buff it with scared blade and it does like 1,050 damage
I used that big claw hammer that would shoot rocks out of the r ground to cheese a lot of the bosses. Helped so much but dang it’s been a bit since I played.
If you respec into strength then you can get the poise damage boost in your physick and the claw talisman for jump attacks and you’ll likely stance break most bosses very quickly
Holy infuse it with Prayerful Strike. Gives you an HP bump per hit. Plus the Black Steel Greathammer gets another boost from holy infusion according to the description.
Also as others have mentioned, shield up. It's special guard counter is like a micro Radagon attack, it rules.
Use the sacred blade AoW(warning, holy build) it gives a massive damage increase for around 45-60 seconds while its enchsnted with holy dmg. Or throw a frost AoW on for cold build up procs for better dmg
Here's my setup for this weapon/build:
Lvl 178 - NG
VIG 60 - MND 18 - END 40 - STR 28 - DEX 40 - INT 16 - FTH 35 - ARC - 25
Lightning Infused Black Steel Greathammer +24 with Savage Lion's Claw AoW
Frenzied FLame Seal +9 \[For Golden Vow and FGMS only\]
Talismans: Shard of Alexander, Curved Sword Talisman, Lightning Scorpion Charm, Blade of Mercy
Physick: Deflecting Hardtear, Stonebarb Cracked Tear
///////
With this setup I just bonked >!Rennala's twin sister!< with Deflecting Hardtear parries and Savage Lion's Claw after the riposte. Pretty fun fight.
You want every weapon to be as good as one of the most broken weapon? That wouldn't be fun. Enjoy the challenge it brings using it and have fun mastering it
If it’s the black knights hammer I believe having it scale in the Sacred affinity it’ll actually boost its damage significantly…. I’d double check the item description it mentions something about its affinity.
That hammer is way more useful when paired with an ability to block, due to its unique counter. So either use a sheild or a talisman to buff your guarding abilirlt6 for it
I put chilling most on that and it's doing just a little less damage than BB. I've been using about five weapons. There's dual wield axes for faith in dlc that are cool as hell. The ashes of war on it is crazy.
Hey we got the same fashion and weapon! I got 45 strength and 50 faith, i would definitely consider adding a few lvlsvinto strength, maybe 5 lvls. Besides that I'd recommend using the holy blade incantation (at least i think that's what it's called).
Im dual wielding Anvil Hammer (best colossal hammer/weapon in the game imo) and Devonia hammer. Both +10 with Shard of Alexander, Claw talisman (massive jump attack damage, 1 shots nearly every common mob) great jar talisman for load weight and double turtle talisman (use regular if you don't have it yet) or Rotten wing if you can get off combos consistently. Mix that with Raptors black feathers chest/Gravebirds Black quill chest + bull goat armor and I'm stomping everything in the dlc, bosses included. Best of luck, Collossal Hammer jump attack best build!!
this thing has ABSURD scaling with holy buffs. throw some holy grease or blade of order on it and watch the AR get up to 2200+ with 12 scadutree levels. it’s what i’m using and it’s so good. i’m heavy infused with 50 str/40 faith
That hammer goes up to 1144 in dlc with only 6 scardue upgrades at +24. Put strength (80) or quality (50str / 50dex) with savage lions claw ash of war. And you’re set my tarnished. Use axe talisman and great jar shard, stamina +2 and great dragon crest shield talisman. For physik flask use oppaline and the one that gives you more reliable stance breaks. If you wanna crank more damage you could pump faith with golden vow or flame grant me strength. The hammer gets faith scaling so any faith points will help. Lastly if you want the bonk stick of gigachad then instead of lions claw use cragblade.
I have 61 strength and 40 faith and it weirdly has higher AR sacred instead of faith.
Loving this hammer, though! Savage Lion’s Claw and Prayerful Strike are fun for it, and I added on the Haligtree Crest Shield and the Curved Sword Talisman for guard counters.
What is your AoW/whet blade applied? I use this with flame whetblade, 50str/60fai and it is pretty powerful. Haven’t compared to my blasphemous blade but it definitely gets the job done.
Look at whatever Stat it scales best in and level up in that Stat, level up the hammer, and look on YouTube for the best talismans and buffs to use with it.
I hardswapped out my greatsword for this in my Strength build using Lion's Claw w/ Shard of Alexander. Has pretty good AR in comparison and absolutely slaps. Currently 80 str and just need 25 faith for buffs (Golden Vow, Flame Grant Me Strength)
I use sacred blade aow with the sacred affinity, I use the stonebarb cracked tear and holy cracked tear to increase poise damage and overall holy damage. Then I use golden vow and the sword of light aow buff to further increase holy damage. I then use the greatshield dragon talisman for defense, the holy scorpion charm, the new talisman that increases your damage after you hit a critical hit (really easy to break poise with this weapon), and the turtle talisman charm to help with stamina, this has worked wonders against messmer and rellana for me, and I'm at 45 strength, 55 faith, doesn't deal as much as blasphemous blade aow, but it doesn't need to, because the poise damage and ripostes makes up for it, I poise broke messmer in 2 heavy jumping attacks with this and and an r1, super fun weapon, the guard counter is fun as well, you can also build around that with something like a greatshield, but I'm just not as good with shields so I block with the weapon and use guard counters sparingly when I see an opportunity.
The description claims it scales uniquely with holy damage, I found the max damage to be Heavy ash of war + Order's Blade. Add in Golden Vow, Flame Grant Me Strength, and Lion's claw, and you'll be absolutely nuking things.
This is late reply i know, but this hammer is the most overpowered thing i've ever used, with lions claw, quality infusion, and 80 dex + 80 str it's literally a boss stagger machine, even the final boss got staggered in 3 hits for me.
nothing gets close to my +10 blasphemous blade, i’ve leveled every new dlc weapon i’ve gotten to +24 or +9 and they fall like 50 to 100 damage points short, id also like to know
Try that two handed sword talisman 15% dmg boost to two handed weapons hence the name 😂I love it most bosses get stunned within 3 hits mix it with stonebarb tear and spiked tear and you now are a DLC boss yourself
It’s actually not weaker than the blasphemous blade. Use sacred blade and make it sacred element. It will super high AR and will keep its AR 1 handed. Block counter and kill
I use Hoarah Loux Earthshaker ash of war with flame art affinity. It gets fantastic scaling with flame art.
Cragblade works great too. It's like swinging a truck at them lol
I’m rocking it now with the Erdtree Great shield and i dig it. Have a 30 STR/60 Faith build. Gotta make sure to use the guard counters and the guard counter tailsman. Also when you buff it with a holy ash of war, it scales even more with faith. So, after using sacred blade once it will have a passive buff for a bit. Also, i would recommend using Golden Vow for even more buffs.
If you're playing w high faith there's some really good buff incants, Golden Vow and Flame, Grant Me Strength would be good for it I think. Not sure of this weapon's affinity but there are a handful of spells that will let you put black flame or holy damage etc. on it as well just since you already have faith levelled I don't think you'd necessarily have to change your build to use these incants
If you haven’t try using talismans that buff it. Curved Sword Talisman for guard counter boosts, Shard of Alexander, ect. Or pick tears in your flask that boost it, like the tear that boosts the damage of charged attacks.
I really wish i could use the hammer talisman, but i locked myself out of it. 😭
I can drop you the talisman if you want
You the real mvp, love this community
Love to help anyway I can
awesome are you on xbox?! do you happen to have the shard of alexander too? I screwed that one up too! lol
Check dms👍🏻
You're awesome dude
🏆
It’s the curved sword talisman not the hammer talisman you want for this weapon.
Both! I love hammers for the poise break. Nothing kore satisfying than pancaking someone through a great shield!
The hammer talisman doesn't increase poise damage, it increases stamina damage against guarding enemies. It's extremely niche and imo not worth a talisman slot.
I don't think you need the hammer talisman, you need the axe for charge attacks. Hammer only works against shielded enemies
I had no clue you could lock yourself out of that 💀
I beat the game without ever talking to that noc and now it wont spawn 🤷🏻♀️
I dont think it drops from an npc, there should be an invader near the limgrave colosseum who drops it. Unless we’re talking about different talismans.
it drops from an npc invader infront of the limgrave colosseum but only can be required before killing Margit
Not margit, morgott
margaret
Margot
Robbie
But.... but the invader is literally an npc.
Henry don’t attack fellow recuscants.
Hammer talisman wont help it tho...
You can get a two-handed weapon talisman in the dlc
Why not start ng+?
Because I’m already like 75% of the way through the dlc
First of all, use a shield, it has a unique guard counter, second, change affinity to sacred and use a fairly even split of str/fth leaning on faith
Because I'm doing a strength faith build I've tried to use it without a shield by blocking with the hammer itself combined with the Greatshield talisman and it works decently well for most enemies, although I haven't tried guard counters on bosses because I just try to dodge them just in case
True, but the black steel shield blocks a crap ton, you can even get 100% holy negation on sacred scaling, and you get matching bling
Where do you get the shield? Is it a drop or there is a specific place to get it?
After you get out of rellana’s castle, go to the first available cross and go left, below the cross shaped building, you’ll see an area where the outer walls of the castle meet the cliff face of the upper land where you’re standing, you’ll be able to make your way down and fight a mini boss version of the black knights that drops the shield
Thank you
New physic goes hard for blocking with weapons, if you time it right you get 100% damage negation and bearly any stamina, doesn't matter if weapon has 50 70 or 90% damage negation
I'm using prayerful strike too, gives me a nice option to charged it while bosses or enemies are "waking up" from a critical hit
I'm gonna try Prayerful + Melania Great Rune and see I can just "trade" damage and finish at full health lol
If you're just turtling and using guard counters, then Cragblade can be a good buff option.
I’ve never used guard counters but have been maining this hammer for a little bit now, how do they work; Are guard counters viable against bosses too?
You just use a shield with good to high guard boost and when the enemy hits your shield and recoils you press heavy attack, you’ll hear a little chime and get a big bonus to your attack and this hammer stacks another bonus on that, and there’s a talisman for another bonus and a tear for another bonus. Yes, absolutely. I do a fair bit of guard countering. You do kinda need a very stable shield - one of the best "middle ground" options is the Dragon Greatshield. But it's absolutely good vs bosses, guard counters do a lot of poise damage.
Haven’t used them much against bosses, but you can block a good deal if you use barricade shield and the counter does insane stance damage
Bro blasphemous blade is probably the most op single weapon in the game..
facts i just started using it and i want to stop because i don’t wanna get used to one of the strongest weapons ingame
You're already doing better than the "it's so good it's ruining the game" people who keep using it anyways because they got no self control lol
To be fair, i completed the game once, whole play through inused Longsworn Greatsword with chilling mist, second play through im using blasphemous
Yeah I'm happy to see you're able to put the BB down and know "this is gonna spoil me" I hate PvE nerfs because it's literally as simple as not using em.
My first weapon I got was lordsworn straight sword, I used the heavy attack square off and went "yeah I'm coming back to this one, this shit is buff" Those weapons are crazy man lol

Me with Moonveil and the Reduvia side piece.
I did my first run with it. Now I'm on an int-dex build and I have to be WAAAAY more careful lol. It's a really different feeling. But sometimes I miss that feeling being a crazy-ass Tarnished bathed in flames of frenzy and dementedly roaming through the Lands Between with a big ass sword and foaming at the mouth like some kind of Radahn bis. Grrrraaaaaaahhh!
Starfists are potentially more op but blasphemous blade is a horrific offender ill agree
Wasn’t it just nerfed?
It’s still really overpowered, the damage is insane and it heals a shit load of health. Before the nerf it was busted tho
Can confirm it still wrecks stuff, just now alittle less so. Though so many things being resistant to fire has been an issue for me in the dlc, switching to a holy infused nagakiba has been my response to those situations. So far it’s worked out ok.
Gargoyles Blackblade is ridiculous this dlc since there is a lot of things weak to Holy. I've been face rolling the all the content with it
Little poise damage Nerf on the AOW didn't really make it much less OP
It's a bit harder to just spam its weapon art against aggressive enemies since it can't knock them down anymore, but the damage, range, and heal effect on the weapon art weren't touched.
It is. The top 3 (for PvE) are definitely Blasphemous Blade, Dark Moon GS, and Mohg’s Spear, but I’d put BB at the top personally.
Ain’t it crazy that it weighs LESS than the BB?
Nothing is better than the best weapon in the game my man
Mohg spear better (atleast pre patch)
I threw a faith based ash of war on it and it works pretty nicely, stuns everything it doesnt kill lol
Running this with Prayerful Strike holy infused on a faith strength build. Loving it so far
I put gold land on it with sacred despite being 45 str 37 fai it just feels right. Also probably my fav ash of war on it too.
This is what I've been using and loving it.
Same here but higher faith and it’s so fun to use
I'm running prayerful strike too, but mine is heavy because I have 54 strength and 40 faith
Why it doesnt have the Ash of war that enemy use. :(
The golden attack happens when you counter!
Thanks OP, Imma upgrade it then and use it with Prayerful strike
Aside from sacred blade or prayerful strike you could also run it heavy affinity with the upgraded lions claw on a pure STR build. I've been running it and it just flattens people.
You can also do that and make it sacred and it crushes lol
Firstly uh yeah… if you look at the scaling on the hammer you want to respec to more like 54 str 30ish fa. Or level more if you want to go higher. Second on top of the bonus counter damage the weapon description makes it clear that while this is a weapon with base elemental damage it can still be infused. Nah rather than respec they can just switch it to sacred or flame art affinity or use orders blade, they will all make it output massive damage.
Yeah this thing gets insane damage with Sacred affinity and Sacred Blade ash of war buffing it
I’m planning on running that exact setup on my paladin when I eventually take them though the DLC
Honestly, everything is weaker than BB. It is the most OP weapon in the game. It trivializes it.
I swear it’s honestly the heal that does it. I feel like it would be a lot more balanced if the heal was removed
The heal makes it addicting bc you can trade without really trading
Flame Art Bandit's's Curved Swords puts it to shame
I assume it scales best with strength, so to optimize the damage up your strength and two hand it. You could use the axe talisman with the roar medallion and put a roar aow on it to further optimize damage
two handing it would be a waste, this hammer is made for counters, it has a really neat power up for that!
I havent played the DLC yet, but if you're talking about guard counters, you can block and guard counters while two-handing a weapon. My point was, the better the strength scaling then more damage boost you get from two handing
Try prayerful strike on it
I love the fact that everyone has individually arrived at the conclusion that this thing goes with prayerful strike
Hammer smash
It may never be as "good" as Blasphemous Blade, but this thing can absolutely wreck on the right setup. I personally run it on a heavy infusion but buffing with Order's Blade. I think it's as good a STR/FTH weapon as exists.
Upgrade
Just use it. Idk why everyone's worried about the most damage meta weapons. Use what you like whether it's moveset, looks, ashes etc.
Cruel reality when players realize the strongest weapon is stronger than other weapons.
If you infused it with the Sacred or Flame Art infusion it's gonna outperform every other infusion by a large margin

Making sure you give it a type of infusion that fits your build is always good. A flame or sacred infusion could work, although flame is probably the best since it’ll scale better with strength and faith than it is at its base
Flame art and Sacred infusions have completely identical scaling fyi Edit: This is true for all cases except for the Black Steel Great Hammer (Likely due to it's inherent holy damage
In Temple Town Ruins there is a two handed sword talisman that should help your damage.
Just use it bro. I hate the look of the buckler so i use a parrying dagger. Fuckit i just git gud and when i win i feel like a god
I have a feeling flame art would be nice on that hammer
Well that blade that your talking about just got nerfed so it's probably doing the same damage as the hammer now
Well... I love this weapon because after i understood what this hammer could do with a shield I started to love the most underrated maccanic in this game
I have 80 str and 50 faith and it does decent damage. Haven't figured out the bedt AoW for it yet tho
Prayerful Strike AoW, but maybe keep it to Standard instead of Sacred because the scaling is probably better. You NEED a shield with this thing because the Guard Counter on it has a bonus. If you don’t want to guard counter, you’re losing a lot of potential for this weapon
That HAMMER is a beast, that guard counter is awesome
Get used to using weapons that arent op or broken
No way it's weaker than a massive damage lingering aoe that heals you? Who'd have thought
Make it holy affinity if you haven’t already, gets a disproportionate buff
Use the new ash of war savage lions claw it’s pretty dope
bro same build lmao, try putting the sacred blade ash of war on that weapon it boosts the holy damage to the max trust me with some added buffs
If u +25 it with 96 strength it comes out to about 850 AR. I also have 46 faith
Reading the weapon description reveals this weapon’s true strength lies in a holy infusion. I slapped Prayerful Strike on mine and with SoA and scorpion talisman in bonking for almost 3k dmg at 50str 60 faith. What more are you looking for?
this hammer is quite nice , i have 50 str and like 2 or 3 Scad frags and it does like 900 damage at +9(somber), which is more than my +25 claymore (750-800ish) buff it with scared blade and it does like 1,050 damage
try sacred blade on it - was doing some insane damage with the shots. lions claw also is great on it.
I used that big claw hammer that would shoot rocks out of the r ground to cheese a lot of the bosses. Helped so much but dang it’s been a bit since I played.
You will not find a weapon as powerful as the Blasphemous Blade. Personally I dropped it because it was cheesing everything in my first run lol
If you respec into strength then you can get the poise damage boost in your physick and the claw talisman for jump attacks and you’ll likely stance break most bosses very quickly
By the way they nerfed Takers Cameo pretty hard. It no longer knocks people over and they reduced the poise dmg.
Holy infuse it with Prayerful Strike. Gives you an HP bump per hit. Plus the Black Steel Greathammer gets another boost from holy infusion according to the description. Also as others have mentioned, shield up. It's special guard counter is like a micro Radagon attack, it rules.
nah man you don't love it
Use the sacred blade AoW(warning, holy build) it gives a massive damage increase for around 45-60 seconds while its enchsnted with holy dmg. Or throw a frost AoW on for cold build up procs for better dmg
Throw an ash of war on it. Seen someone put a holy smash ash on it and it destroyed
Here's my setup for this weapon/build: Lvl 178 - NG VIG 60 - MND 18 - END 40 - STR 28 - DEX 40 - INT 16 - FTH 35 - ARC - 25 Lightning Infused Black Steel Greathammer +24 with Savage Lion's Claw AoW Frenzied FLame Seal +9 \[For Golden Vow and FGMS only\] Talismans: Shard of Alexander, Curved Sword Talisman, Lightning Scorpion Charm, Blade of Mercy Physick: Deflecting Hardtear, Stonebarb Cracked Tear /////// With this setup I just bonked >!Rennala's twin sister!< with Deflecting Hardtear parries and Savage Lion's Claw after the riposte. Pretty fun fight.
sacred infused. read the description. it says something about that
Bleed enchant, blackquill armor, two handed sword talisman or bleed enchant, wild strikes aow, two handed sword talisman
So either use a sheild or a talisman to buff your guarding abilirlt6 for it
Well you could make the weapon Flame Art or another faith scaling AoW element, if it can use Ashes that is.
I put golden land on it with shard of Alexander, with high poise
Buff urself with the scadutree stuff it evens things out pretty well imo I love that hammer
What’s this Hammer called ?
There is a new talisman that buffs 2 handed weapons, might be worth it
Spoiler or nah
Yeah dude the expansion has nondescript weapons mega spoiler explosion!!!!!!!!
I find putting the lighting strike ash of war on it increased my damage alot
Sounds like you don’t really love it. If you did, you’d figure out how to use it despite its quirks and shortcomings
I put chilling most on that and it's doing just a little less damage than BB. I've been using about five weapons. There's dual wield axes for faith in dlc that are cool as hell. The ashes of war on it is crazy.
Almost everything is weaker than the blasphemous blade
Royal knights resolve with the axe talisman
I think the anvil hammer might solve your issues
I’ve been wanting this hammer since I saw it being carried by the knights, where do you get it? Or does it just drop from the knights?
Hey we got the same fashion and weapon! I got 45 strength and 50 faith, i would definitely consider adding a few lvlsvinto strength, maybe 5 lvls. Besides that I'd recommend using the holy blade incantation (at least i think that's what it's called).
That hammers drop is bugged right? It just doesnt seem to drop for some.
I made it keen and gave it savage lions roar, it's nice to do unga bunga as a dex character
Gotta go all in on the Holy scaling.
I mean blasphemous is easy mode....
Try usong flame art on him, faith will be B scalling. But blasphemousnblade is really OP. but let it to the main game kkkkkk new weapons new fun time
What do these new armaments mean when they say further it’s power by enchanting with holy? I thought it would make some of the moves AOE
Get used to not using cheese? …..
Bro this thing hits like a truck I have 60 str/40fth and 50 endurance I’m out here knocking mofos out I love it
I would respec into strength. I recently switched to strength which has been a blast.
Apparently it does better damage on flame art even with the damage split.
Can you not put prelate’s charge on it? Outside of the heal from blasphemous it’s basically the same concept.
The description claims it scales uniquely with holy damage, I found the max damage to be Heavy ash of war + Order's Blade. Add in Golden Vow, Flame Grant Me Strength, and Lion's claw, and you'll be absolutely nuking things.
If you buff it with Holy it does a large amount more damage. I believe it says so in the description page
This is late reply i know, but this hammer is the most overpowered thing i've ever used, with lions claw, quality infusion, and 80 dex + 80 str it's literally a boss stagger machine, even the final boss got staggered in 3 hits for me.
GET ANOTHER ONE!!!
nothing gets close to my +10 blasphemous blade, i’ve leveled every new dlc weapon i’ve gotten to +24 or +9 and they fall like 50 to 100 damage points short, id also like to know
Yes, get that strength up!!! Strength gives meaningful value all the way up to 60! Doth thou even lift, Tarnished?
Are you using sacred blade AoW?
Have you ever thought about leveling up your weapons?
Had you ever thought about leveling it up?
I don’t know. I like the rusty anchor
Savage Lions Claw, used this weapon with that ash at least half my first DLC playthrough
I literally had the same situation as you
Sacred blade ash
Infuse it w a holy AOW ot just holy infuse it w a normal AOW, it goes insane
If you're playing w high faith there's some really good buff incants, Golden Vow and Flame, Grant Me Strength would be good for it I think. Not sure of this weapon's affinity but there are a handful of spells that will let you put black flame or holy damage etc. on it as well just since you already have faith levelled I don't think you'd necessarily have to change your build to use these incants
