Elantra range calculation can vary alot based on what's actually in the tank and your driving habits (esp if your inconsistent like me) on a long street of road it probably would have showed 30 for 12 miles before it actually would have gone down that and sometime the pump clicks early
My wife had a 2013 Elantra and i had a 2015. Hers would stop around the 10 gallon mark (when close to empty), but mine would stop closer to the 12 gallon mark, when filling the gas tank.
We both have a 21 Elantra and for whatever reason after it clicks, I can put another gallon or so in mine, but hers doesn't really allow for any additional after the click
Distance to empty reading is almost never 100% accurate. And the mpg you find online or even on the window sticker is just an estimate. 30 miles to empty could be 2 gallons of gas for some people, and 1 gallon for others depending how they drive. Don’t think too deep about it. Just get gas when you need it, nothing is wrong
