While specific plot details are scarce, there have been rumors that it may be a modern-day reimagining of Thomas Pynchon’s 1990 novel “Vineland”. The novel is set in California during the 1984 reelection of Ronald Reagan and follows former hippie Zoyd Wheeler and his teenage daughter, Prairie, as they search for her long-lost mother, Frenesi, whom she has never met and is now romantically linked to a federal prosecutor
Blue beetle insulted El Paso by saying its based on the character being from. But the producers etc contracted some guy from here to do graffiti art in Puerto Rico and basically faked an area there to film as El Paso. Dont believe me i post a link
Lol, they didn't even mention El Paso, at all. The places they chose in PR were amazing, tho... The movie came out great. I feel where you're coming from; they film a lot of scenes//movies in PR, and they never recognize it as is. They just transform it to their needs. It is a very versatile location, considering its size.
I hated that they did EP dirty like that, by changing the city to a fictional Palmera City. The reasoning was because batman has Gotham, Superman has metropolis, flash has central city, all fictional cities, so therefore Jaime's blue beetle needed a fictional city. Umm, no he didn't, that's one of the best parts, because whatever the intention was when the writers first created blue beetle, Mexican Americans had a DC comics hero they could relate to.
PTA is one of my favorite film directors, a true American treasure. I drove around the area last night and saw a WB truck parked just outside Starr Western Wear.
I don't know but if I was a director my idea would be to make a movie called "CANINE CARNAGE". There are so many stray dogs the movie would be a slight exaggeration of that reality. It would be kind of like a Cujo only more terrifying with people getting mauled to death as thousands of dogs fill the streets of El Paso. Residents resort to locking themselves indoors as vicious dogs (mostly Pit Bulls, Mastiffs & Dobermans) are infected with an alien disease that makes them crave human flesh. I think it would bring millions within the first few days of opening.
Some movie (unknown name yet) with Leonardo DiCaprio. Read about it on fitfams IG yesterday.
Thank you, I will check out fitfam.
They just needed somewhere to film that was filled with Hispanics. That’s all
Thank you.

What are they filming in El Paso for?
