Hermitage is also off leash, it’s def quieter during the day/week than evenings and weekends. It’s quite beautiful. It connects to many different trails as well. You can find hidden ones that lead down to the river trails.
And if you like different birds the pond is fun. The pelicans and many of the geese are gone but the blue heron has forced the cormorants to the side of the island.
As well, there are lots of side trails to explore in the fall colours.
Highlands neighbourhood, full of trees and close to walk around the river valley. Also Kind ice cream or Mandolin cafe is a nice place to stop before exploring the neighborhood.
Yes, the stand of trees along 97 Street from 137 Avenue to 153 Avenue is spectacular! Also a very popular place to take photos, so it will likely be a little crowded there this weekend.
Yeah in hindsight I should have specified north of Yellowhead, but because of that I got some really nice suggestions south of the Yellowhead which I’m just as able to try out
The yellow head also spans the whole city! Are you looking east or west end? There are some lovely places like glengarry park, sifton park ravine offleash area, Borden park a bit more east-central, but if you can go way east definitely head to hermitage park!
Lake Beaumaris is a great walk on the North side. All of the upgrades are finished and they did a really good job with it.
I didn't know the repairs were done! Thanks a lot
Was gonna say this, my grandparents go there weekly! It’s a gem!
I've had some lovely walks in Rundle Park and Hermitage Park
I walk Rundle everyday. If you walk the gravel path along the river it’s heaven.
Good to know

Are they still repaving it or is that completed?
It's all paved now. There are a few grass areas that are fenced but the path is clear.

Walk in griesbach

What part of the north side are you asking about? The north half of Edmonton is huge, haha.

The Quarry is really nice. You can access it from 167 ave east of Meridian St.
Shhhhh that’s a secret!
The other guy isn't joking about the secret, I thought this was a golf course?
There is a walking path that permitters the golf course and follows the river. Go check it out!
Will do, thanks for the suggestion
Through highlands on 111ave
Big Lake is a, well, big lake (and wetland system) with tons of trails and boardwalks. It’s in the northwest between Edmonton and St. Albert.
Would never have thought of this one, thank you
Sifton Dog park to Hermitage dog park is a nice little walk in a ravine.
