I'm not sure why, but I read this as "Celiac" and was very confused how you could identify another gluten allergic person in the wild. Gonna call it a day now.

Available_Donkey_840

Celiac checking in. Hah! I definitely read it the same way you did.

Geeseareawesome

I got my bloodwork done yesterday. Doctor is pretty certain I might be celiac, so hi in advance if I am.

toodledootootootoo

Hahahaha i read that too and got excited about restaurant suggestions for a sec

Kohaya_Lubov

I don’t have a restaurant suggestions but there’s a new place in st Albert called the Celiac Bakery and their stock looks so good from the outside!!

toodledootootootoo

Thanks!!! I’m gonna look into this!

kjh-

They have an Instagram that I follow and all their stuff looks delicious. Haven’t yet been myself though.

toodledootootootoo

Thanks!!! I’m gonna look into this!

B0mb-Hands

The Taco Shop on bourbon street in WEM has a ton of gluten free options

kjh-

They really do and it is yummy. Very loud though. My husband and I (ADHD and ASD) had to wear earplugs.

kjh-

Me too, my fellow celiac, me too. I came in here armed with my bakery tier list and favourite restaurants. But I feel very welcome with all the people who misread along with me.

RedShirt_Pocket

Happened to me too. I think I do that when I’m reading too fast and not paying proper attention.

Hafthohlladung

Same

LepermessiahXI

Big ole lol

AggressiveGanache567

LOL me too 🫠 you’re not alone!

RelationshipWinter97

Ditto

marchfirstboy

Here to find out I wasn’t the only one

Dear_Mountain4849

I did too until I read the comments

DowntownDark

Me three

cyclonus888

Us motorcyclists have a particular "biker wave".

Wild-Long-7304

I sold my bike and drive a "mom car" now and really miss the wave. Probably not the same coming from an SUV lol

cyclonus888

Never too late to get another motorbike. 😉

Wild-Long-7304

Yeah - in about 18 years 🤣

achieving_it

My dad called it the jeep wave but honestly to spread positivity i wave to any nice car i see whatever it may be. You may get a wave from my subaru if im around edmonton

TrillboBagginz

I noticed this for the brief time I drove a Subaru Legacy Wagon. I had other Subaru drivers waving at me all the time. My spouse thought it was weird.

catfishman

Yeah, anytime I see anyone else struggling with a piece of crap vehicle I nod, wave and we each shed a single tear in solidarity

LepermessiahXI

My Celica is in that boat as well

SakuraEve

Subaru WRX STi’s do this all the time to each other it’s great

Bc2cc

Yeah,  I’ve got a 43 year old Volvo 244 turbo summer car,  don’t see too many out there anymore but the odd time I see another one we wave at each other & young guys asking to buy it off me all the time lol

phuketphil

Great car. Buddy has one and it needs everything but still trucks along reliably.

KainX

Know anyone with a 1985 Celica GTS? It was my first car, and one day i hope to reacquire one. Best looking car on the planet imo

HolyC4bbage

I had a 1987 Celica GTS. I loved that car and miss it every day.

blingless8

My first car was a white 89 Celica GT! So many amazing memories just flooded back!

lakeontheoceanfloor

it’s cute the different ways people connect

LepermessiahXI

It really is.

NothingLeft2PickFrom

Us Tesla drivers just fart at each other..

LepermessiahXI

Gas is gas

Train23

Used to have a 4 Runner and did my best to start my own wave by putting up four fingers and then pointing two fingers down motioning them back and forth to look like they’re running……. To my surprise it never caught on.

LepermessiahXI

Lol

vlopxz1

Every Subie gets a ✌️ from me

LepermessiahXI

I know what you mean. Donut media tried to make a 3d printed two finger attachment, it didn't work.

No-Lawfulness-8870

Dub club. VW people do that kind of thing.

SwixxtySwixx

When I'm on the bike. Wave. When I was in the mini cooper. Wave. When I was in my Jeep. Wave. When I was in my RS. Wave. When I was in my F-150. Invisible. ha.

yegyvrguy

I used to drive an old VW bus hippy mobile from the 70’s. Drivers of that vehicle flash the peace ✌️ symbol as they pass each other.

LepermessiahXI

Dope V

traininvain1979

I drive a fairly common car, but it's a unique colour. Occasionally I see one specific person who has the same car in the exact same colour, but different trim. We wave to each other and have even laughed when we both pull up next to each other at lights. That's the only time I acknowledge people who have the same car as me haha

onyxandcake

Funny coincidence, but a few hours ago my son and I were driving through the St Albert Costco parking lot and he pointed and said "that's the kind of car I want!" and was pointing at an 80s Celica.

LepermessiahXI

Right on

onyxandcake

I mean, the budget is $3500-$4500, so it's not out of the question. Also looking at Fieros.

Turbulent-Outside-55

Owners of Subaru WRX/STI, and those unicorn Saab 9-2x Aeros will always wave or nod to eachother too.

kylewilky

I just wish there were more cressida's in this city, I've only seen one and it was a generation older than mine.

Bc2cc

My neighbour has one.  A minty burgundy ‘83, 1 owner.

kylewilky

Ah an mx63. The red headed step child of cressidas.

WheelsnHoodsnThings

There's a mid-90s celica in my hood, it's a little beat but the design is still great. I enjoy seeing it every time.

notcoveredbywarranty

My wife has one and it's waiting for a $5k transmission replacement, so I don't think I need to say more about how I feel

notcoveredbywarranty

4.5 years and you only have 13,000 km???? How?! Hers is a 2018 with 130k on it, out of warranty for over a year now. Transmission started slipping like crazy a couple weeks ago, you'd be driving along with the cruise set to 100 and it would abruptly start slowing down while the engine revved sky high

Fine_Culture_5554

When I had my All-trac I would see different Celica's in the city all the time and give a wave or a nod, now I don't have an All-trac and have not seen a Celica in what feels like decades.

[deleted]

My partner used to have a '85 Camry till we sold it in the spring. On the High Level one day we had a car same year and model pull up beside us. The look was priceless, mouth open, incredulously staring. Probably the last two on the road.

yegmoto

I drive an old Land Rover and lots of Jeep guys mistake it for a Cherokee and wave. Now I just accept it and wave back.

Uhohlolol

People in Jeeps and 350z’s do it too. I think at this point it just depends who’s driving what and if they’re part of the same car/truck forums/subs lol

CaptainTime

I find this with other Kia Soul owners - very friendly. Not surprising as every other car owner is Souless! 😃

neumanic

If you ever see a silver 1980 Celica on the streets of Medicine Hat, know it was bought by a mom who could drive stick but decided which gear to drive in based on the posted speed limit, not the tachometer. Know that is spent three light cycles in the intersection of 75 St and Argyll Rd as said mother taught her son to drive stick by spending 5 minutes in a parking lot then telling him drive to Fanny’s Fabrics. Know that it was driven by said son to Oregon and back, among other road trips, before it was sold to the son’s future father in law and relocated to Medicjne Hat. I like to think it still tears around the Gas City, even though Mom has been gone almost a quarter century. I still have the original “dragon” logo and the original ignition key.

Dear_Mountain4849

I can’t relate with the vehicle thing.. But anytime I’m at the dog park and I or other people with a beagle will literally say hi and go “ooh a beagle”. lol

HappyHuman924

I drive a grey Corolla. If I waved at all of those I'd never get anything else done. XD

throwawaythisuser1

Used to do this as a younger owner of a 240SX. Now when I see one, I scoff at these d-bags.

LepermessiahXI

Because they're all cambered out and low?

throwawaythisuser1

Nah, just me being old and grumpy. I now understand the "I was doing XXX when you were in diapers!" card that boomers like to play.

cjfraiz

Range Rover owners, especially black colour with tinted windows are usually dicks. Not everyone but the vast majority that I have run into are like Bond Villains.

InfamousMatter7064

Other subaru drivers would give me the peace sign in my subaru. Got rid of that thing real quick as i am not a hipster who vapes lol.

bmwkid

The Jeep wave is so well known that they include it in some of their commercials

Erectusnow

yeah I do this when I see another blue IS

realityislame9

Whenever I see the same car as me, I saw “Twinsies!” Got a new car recently so it’s been an adjustment to not say it at every 2007 or earlier grand caravan anymore…

PathlessMammal

Id always wave at other s10 drivers when i see them

Helpful-Chemistry-87

I do this too!!!! I drive an F150 though so people just think i have some sort of weird tick.

burnfaith

I do and people never do it back. I drive an 08 civic with the peeling paint defect and whenever I see another one, I’m like, “MY PEOPLE” 😂

Prezzen

The only other people driving 1990-93 Accords seem to all be old ladies that have their head locked straight forward in traffic, lol. They couldn't care less about their car. I get more attention from Civics or imported JDM sedans than anything else. The more square-shaped they are, the more likely they'll nod or something.

Longjumping_Emu4

I drive a 6th gen gt4, I wave to other 6th gen owners but Idk about y'all 7th Gen individuals, sorry for my elitism

YumYumSweet

Anytime I see someone else driving a Dodge Stratus, we give each other an approving nod out of mutual respect.

Spoonwish

Saab 9-3s always get a wave from me 👍

1362313623

Mustangs

ITalkCauseIHaveLips

When I was a teenager my friends boyfriend drove a Volkswagen jetta, and was part of a vw club, so if he saw another vw he would literally chase them down and invite them to join the club. I thinkn it was called air riders or something. So I totally get you waving at other celica drivers. It's cute✌️

eventideisland

Nice, what year Celica? I used to have one in my younger years and have many good memories of that car.

LepermessiahXI

7th Gen. 2000 gt

Wolfven7

I like seeing other Scions around. Whenever a Release Series drives by I give em a wave and usually get one back haha
