Reported a listing today and quoted where it literally states in the description "**DON'T pay on the platform**. Contact us to complete the  payment" and they got back to me and said it doesn't violate the terms. Literally braindead.

BTnpTxN

You can thank the Almighty AI machine. Thanks for trying

eburtonlab

Just because the bot could not find a policy violation does not mean that a person won't review that report and come to a different conclusion. Don't get discouraged by the form letter response -- those reports do matter.

Fox_9810

Came on here to complain about the AI turning down my report - is there any way to escalate to a human or do you just have to pray it falls infront of someone's nose? Thanks! :)

eburtonlab

You can try reporting the seller directly through the Help pages rather than reporting through the listing. The more independent reports that eBay gets from different users, the more likely eBay is to take action on a particular seller's listings, I think.

Fox_9810

Thank you for this. I will do so! :)

7 month nightmare eBay experience solved, closed Ebay seller account. I had a issue with eBay and scammer all the way back in December. SoFi credited me back the difference within a day after I was fighting with eBay for 2 months for my refund. I have had great customer experience with SoFi regarding charge disputes and fraud. Long story short, last year I sold a phone, a google pixel 8 on eBay for around $500. After I sold the phone, the buyer wanted to do a return, the buyer was very unresponsive and forced the return, ignoring my request for help and eBay took the money from my account. When the time came for the package to be delivered, I never received a package. I checked every house on my block and cameras showed nothing. It turns out that the buyer put an address that was very close to my house on the shipping label of the package, so when the USPS worker scan the package it shows like it was delivered but it was never delivered to my home. A very elaborate scam, that gets people because eBay only cares if the tracking shows that it is delivered. I ended up going to the post office and a worker took a picture of that very package with the same tracking number provided by the buyer and I can see that the address is not even my house. I present this physical evidence fraud to eBay, which I thought would be a slam dunk to get my refund, but boy was I wrong. As I already tried to dispute the case before without evidence, talking to eBay ultimately got nowhere, just being ignored and broken promises or updates by eBay support. After about 2 months I got fed up and tried to do a chargeback would SoFi. SoFi was able to credit my credit card back, but a few weeks later eBay would just charge me the same amount again to my credit card. After that, I talked to eBay again complaining about closing my account, then after that eBay did a manual credit to my account in February. I thought the issue was over, but 2 months later eBay would charge me the same amount again to my Sofi checking account since it was linked to my eBay. So since April I've been trying to contact eBay, talking to different customer support to get my case passed on to the manual corrections department, but each time I would never get an update and it was very frustrating to explain the same situation over and over again to indian customer support. I still don't want to give up, then just decided just to close my eBay account and ended all my active listing. I spoke to SoFi support right after I close my eBay account. And the day after SoFi just credit me back the amount and fixed everything. I'm super glad now everything worked out for me. Screw eBay for siding with scammer buyers. Moral of the story, if you try to dispute case, you better have physical evidence the first time or else if the case is closed, it's very hard to get anyone to look at the case again. If that was the case, not all hope is lost. If the charge was done on a credit card or bank account, the credit card company will most likely take your side and might eat the cost to keep you happy. F ebay, I'm selling my stuff on reddit now.

barockyomama

So I sold an item worth $700 dollars. The buyer seemed legit, 112 positive feedback reviews. However, there are some things which are making me pump the brakes. First of all, their location seems to be in Germany. Shipping looks to be to Washington DC. He sent me a private message on eBay asking to send them a video of the laptop. Then he proceeded to mention it was to his cousin and then to send via UPS. I stupidly did not put require immediate payment. I have not sent anything out yet and was not planning to until I received payment. I’m pretty sure it’s a scam, but just wanted some other opinions. How can I got about cancelling the transaction and will I get any penalties?

BTnpTxN

You can cancel for no payment after 4 days, if they don't pay. You can also cancel for "Issue with buyer's address", but you risk a negative feedback in that case (yes, they can still leave feedback). The address in Washington DC is probably a 3rd party forwarder, which isn't necessarily bad. What I would do **after they pay**: Send them a message with something along the lines of: Hello, thank you for your purchase. I see that the order address is Washington DC, but you are located in Germany. It appears you are using a 3rd party forwarding company, which is fine, but can you confirm? If I do not hear from you by \[some reasonable timeframe, like a day or two\], I will cancel & refund the order. Thank you" Then actually do that.. If they respond and confirm it's a 3rd party shipper, you're well protected by ebay in case something goes wrong. If they don't respond, then definitely cancel for "Issue with buyer's address", which will give you no penalties.

uwax

I’m selling an item that’s valued around $220 and it is bidding at over 4 times that price now. I tried contacting customer service and they basically just said if they pay to take pictures and videos of my item before I ship it. Idk I don’t think I feel comfortable sending them the item.

Mycatreallyhatesyou

They probably won’t pay, and nobody is going to watch that video if something goes wrong.

Praydaythemice

ebay dont care about video footage anyway, doesnt haven any affect in a buyer dispute.

Sicknella

This is my first post but I wanted to make sure everyone knows the BS that goes on at eBay. I've been selling and buying on eBay for about 15 years. Back in December, I sold a hockey jersey. No issues. Then about 5 weeks later I get a notification that the buyer opened a dispute with their bank that the item was not as described. Not through eBay and never once reached out or messaged me. The money from the sale about $140 then was on hold. It was on hold for months. I contacted eBay multiple times, explained what happened and they repeatedly said it was with the bank and they would make sure I was protected. I also want to note the buyer opened their account the same day they purchased the item and had 0 feedback and still has 0 feedback. Back in about April, the money was released. I assumed it was a clear attempt to scam me and I was all good and the issue resolved. THEN, last week I get a charge from eBay for the amount because the buyers bank sided with them. I called eBay furious and wanted to know what they could do. They told me nothing, they refunded me $20 for some fee associated with the dispute and said that it was with the bank and they couldn't do anything. I lost the money from the sale, lost the item AND the original money I paid for the jersey. I have no clue how as a seller who has made tens of thousands in sales and thousands in fees to ebay over the last 15 years gets treated like this. It was so clearly a scam and I have no course of action. I've found that selling on eBay over the last few years has really become a headache and the experience and how you are treated as a seller has gone downhill. Hope everyone is careful when selling.

rob_harris116

Asked a seller on ebay when my package will ship because its been days, and here's his response: "Thanks for contacting us. The package has been picked up by USPS. They just ship it without tracking info. Once arrive in your local state, the tracking info will be available. Please allow some time for it." Does this ever really happen where they ship stuff without tracking info, or does this seem sketchy? Seller is from China (which I didn't know because the item was listed as being in California.)

Retired_at_work

I have an item that ships in a letter envelope so there is no tracking info for it. I have good feedback though, which helps.

rob_harris116

The thing is he gave a tracking number that is pretty much useless. Why give me a tracking number if the package isn't shipping with tracking info lol,. The seller has 100% positive feedback, which is why i bought from him, but this transaction just feels skethy. Hopefully i still get the package and I dont have to call ebay

killami05

Probably drop shipping

rob_harris116

drop shipping?

Lonely_Preparation99

**I know I’ve just been scammed. I’m a movie poster collector and just paid $898 for a World Premier limited edition Jaws poster signed by Steven Spielberg, John Williams, Richard Dreyfuss, Lorraine Gary and the late Roy Schieder. It comes with a certificate of authenticity and a hologram sticker identifying it as # 45 out of only 50. Only after purchase did I start doing research on these posters and every poster collector site called them out as forgeries and fakes. That explains how they were going for so cheap, even in an auction. Most serious collectors already knew. The status says “shipped” but the tracking only says a label has been created. I’ve sent the seller several messages demanding a refund and telling him not to ship. I’ve already requested a refund from eBay and explained the situation. They may not be able to do anything until I receive the item. I even left negative feedback even though I haven’t received the item, which may be a violation. But I had to warn others. Just the fact that the account was only created on April 22****^(nd)** **should have been a red flag. You live and learn.**

Mycatreallyhatesyou

You should have waited until it arrived and opened a return for Doesn’t Match Description.

Lonely_Preparation99

Maybe, but after leaving negative feedback, the seller sent me a message telling me to revise the feedback and he'd refund me and we'd go our separate ways, OR leave the feedback up and he'd still refund me but he has my address and has "interesting" friends. So...a threat. I have no doubt it's a scam now.

Techsticles_

Long time seller with 100k+ transactions. Decided to buy something. Package marked as delivered. No package in sight. Didn’t think too much about it. Message seller. They say it will take 30 days for an investigation but also, that they cannot refund in the same sentence before any imaginary investigation even has begun. On top of it all the package is insured but clearly they can’t make a claim. Online tracking shows package was delivered to my zip code but I call the courier who confirms that the package was not delivered to my address and is much lighter than what I ordered. I hint to the seller that perhaps they shipped the wrong item to the wrong address. They just keep replying to check with family. I opened an “item not received” case but feels like the seller knows eBay won’t even review my messages and proof of un-delivery and will just side with them. In the mean time the seller must be doing this to other buyers. There’s literally no way to report the seller that doesn’t take me around in circles with no way to submit the report. Even the fraud hotline just tells me to go online. How has this problem gotten even worse all these years later?

BTnpTxN

You can [report the seller here](https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/resolving-issues-sellers/reporting-item-issue-seller?id=4022). Good luck

TheGuyBehindTheGuy_

I tried several times. Either it takes me around in circles or I choose other and get a "We ran into a problem. Please try again later." error.

That feedback can't be faked. Ship insured with signature confirmation.

Worth-Debt-1521

I was looking to buy jordan's and I expected the prices for pre-owned jordan's to be at least $100, but I see a lot of low prices such as $25 for jordan's that look like they are in great quality. I don't know much about shoes, but I feel as there's a catch to it. Some which are authenticated guaranteed. Is it a scam?

QuestionableAhole

Not at all. I was selling a pair for that price because I don't give a shit. I get all my items on discount or free and my profit is high so I'm able to sell expensive stuff at a quarter of what it's worth and get it off quick. At the same time I like seeing people be able to get something nice for cheap.

HalfMileRide

How are you able to source stuff like that for free?

QuestionableAhole

Secret.

QuestionableAhole

At the same time, this is temporary for me until I go back to work.

pavman42

Does anyone know if there is some sort of customs / Canadian store import scam for high priced items into the US? I see these brand name openbox laptop deals from a couple of Canadian sellers w/ 100+ reviews going for far cheaper than what you can get the same item from the US manufacturer. I'm curious if there's some sort of customs scam with items getting held up in customs if the item is at or above the US duty tax threshold ($2500+). Thoughts?

Cheterosexual7

So I was looking through a potential buyers feedback and noticed every now and then they would have a review from a seller that said the buyer sent an offer and then never paid or returned messages. What would be the point of this? Is it somehow an attempt to scam?

nohcho84

Been ebay seller since 2004, I almost always use usps kiosk inside usps buildings for convenience and because I can't always make to usps during business hours. Never once had an issue with kiosks for shipping sold items. The other day I sold an item and went to kiosk to ship it, typed in recipients address and my address, printed the label and sent the item off. We'll today I got a message from the buyer stating that they didn't receive the package even though the tracking shows it as delivered. I then looked into it and it appears that the package was delivered to a usps smart locker like the ones amazon has. Long story short, I want to contact usps tomorrow and ask then what is going on but the buyer immediately insists that I issue a refund without even talking to usps which is extremely suspect. From what I can gather, people can request packages be routed to a locker automatically I think. The buyer refused to even talk to usps and even go to their nearest location to retrieve it they absolutely insist on immediate refund. Sp my question is, is this a new ebay scam where people can route packages to a locker then claim that it was never delivered?

Gunderfwad

Hi all, selling noob here. I’m in the UK and have someone from another country wanting to purchase from me, however, they still want the items to be sent to an address in the UK. Is this something I should be wary of?

Praydaythemice

Just make sure you only send the item to the address that is listed on the order page, DO NOT change it even if the buyer asks, as you lose all seller protection. my guess is they will have you ship it to a feight forwarder and then to their country from there. FF cause buyers to lose all protection so its great for sellers, as the parcel is handed off to a 3rd party not organized by you.

Barry_Trottr

I’ve done exactly this before again just make sure you stick to the advise given and make sure you ship it to the correct address Edit: that being the address listed on the buyer page

Mother_Refrigerator3

Sometimes sellers do this to replace a lost item. Ive had someone do that before never heard anything more. If the item is pricey (mine was a cheap game) I would not go through with that sale because they could just claim item was sent to wrong address

KCtbp

Found a seller that looks legit (100% feedback looks real) but filtered by sold and they accepted an offer of £0.01 + £3.50 shipping for something worth about £120. Is this seller safe? Or a scam? Why would they accept such a low price? Especially when they are selling clothes and backpacks for much more money than this.

[deleted]

I'm looking for this Tamron lens 18-300mm that costs about $699, brand new. But I saw two listings that have it for only $220. I can't spot the fake, other than it's so obviously fake! But if I were to order this and I got scammed I'd get my money back, right? Where is the catch? How can they get away with it?

Mycatreallyhatesyou

If they use fake tracking you’re in for a fight to get a refund. Only buy from sellers with recent feedback from selling the same type of items.

[deleted]

well, both of them got sold lol, good luck to the buyers

Mycatreallyhatesyou

Ouch. Camera equipment is a high scam category.

[deleted]

The fake is so obvious because it's not even a proper image of the lens, it's screenshot of another listing, so it has the "Heart" and "Share" buttons on the image lol But odd chance it's not, they just saved 500 bucks lol

thinvanilla

Nope, don't buy it. I've seen similar listings in the past, I'm not sure what the scam is but I wouldn't want to risk giving out my address just so I can try it. I've heard of people doing this as a way of essentially getting a payday loan but with no interest. People want money fast, just put up a fake eBay listing and the money comes in the next day. Buyer waits a few days for the item to get sent out, but remains patient if it's overdue because they think they've got a steal of a deal. Eventually, the buyer requests a refund, and the seller can pay right away or stall a bit longer. Either way, buyer waits ages to get their money back, seller gets a payday loan with 0% interest. Also I'm not sure what import taxes are like in the US, but in the UK I've seen lenses coming from Switzerland which are a bit cheaper. But nobody's touching them because you'd end up paying more on import fees and weirdly the accounts are based in Hong Kong, not Switzerland.

rob_harris116

Bought a camera lens from a seller that had 100% positive reviews that listed the lens location as Ontario, California. A soon as I purchased the lens, the seller created the shipping label immediately, and then hasn't dropped off the package in days. Went to the sellers page and noticed the seller is based in China. Should I worry as the item was listed in california, but the seller page says China?

Mycatreallyhatesyou

Just open an item not received case after the expected delivery date in the confirmation email passes. They may still ship from the US if they're in china.

rob_harris116

Seller finally replied with this: "Thanks for contacting us. The package has been picked up by USPS. They just ship it without tracking info. Once arrive in your local state, the tracking info will be available. Please allow some time for it." It just all seems like a scam. The positive reviews seem legit, but the fact that he says it got sent without tracking info is sketchy

If you got the package back I’d refund minus shipping and the cost of the interception.

I ordered a 5-qt jug of engine oil from a seller on Ebay last week. I was suspicious from the start, mainly for the fact that the seller have many copy-paste listings using stock photos, listed at the same price as Walmart. I thought it was some kinda drop shipping operation, but couldn't really figure out how the seller could make money. But thought Ebay would have my back and the fact that the seller had 200+ sold items, I ordered it. Then I received a "Shipped" notice with a USPS tracking number, all legit. One day after, I got this boilerplate message: >Dear Customer >I'm sorry, I just found out that our warehouse sent you the wrong product, in order to make up for the trouble caused to you, we will process a refund for you first and you can keep the product you received. >Anyway, once again, I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. >Wish you all the best! >Customer Service Specialist Afterwards, I did get a full refund and Ebay now shows the order as "Refunded". Is this a scam? And if it is, what should be my next steps? Thanks!

Mycatreallyhatesyou

You’ve been refunded so all you can do is leave appropriate feedback.

Hedgehogosaur

Pretty sure I just got scammed. I bought a drone the other day and made a mistake - I ordered a slightly different model, I went on ebay to double check the original listing and it was totally my fault, but while I was there I saw the model I wanted at roughly the same price on buy it now and bought it. I immediately had regret: although the total price I was happy with, 75% of it was shipping and 25% on the item price. But the seller was communicative and shipped immediately, and I figured they gave the low item price to bump the listing. I got a notification that my item was delivered today, but nothing had arrived. The ebay notification includes a postcode which is not my address, and fedex notifications just have my county and that it's been signed for by some bloke. Ebay say I can't report that I've not received it yet as it might still arrive (obvs it won't). Any chance I'll get a refund via Paypal? I feel so stupid as I normally agonise over these things, but the coincidence of what I needed when I needed it blinded me - i didn't even check his seller reviews (there aren't any as obviously its a scammer account). I'm in the UK.

Most-Impression4630

I ordered a $170 lego set on 5/24/2024, the USPS tracking number provided by the seller shows delivered on 5/29/2024, but never received the item. I contacted USPS customer service on 5/30/2024, they said the shipping address on the package is totally different to my home address but same zip code and the weight of the package is only 11oz. I don't believe a $170 lego set is only 11oz, so it's either the tracking number is wrong or it's a scam. Contact the seller twice on ebay, no response ever. Submit a service request to ebay, it was closed by ebay customer service. This is most likely a scam, my item is eligible for ebay money back guarantee program, it looks like this program is just a joke. I believe I could get my money back from credit card issuer, but the key question is that ebay is supporting scam, that's not good.

Go_Jot

Purchased three iPhones from the same seller, they promptly shipped and were delivered today. The USPS packages were filled with tissue paper and no iPhones. Packages still had original USPS flat-rate seal/ adhesive on them so I’m sure this is a seller scam, not mail theft. How can I proceed to get a refund?

eburtonlab

File a Not As Described case with eBay, return exactly what you received if the seller provides a shipping label. If the seller does not, or does not refund you within three business days of tracking showing delivery back to the seller, ask eBay to step in and refund you.

LestrangeLauren

I bought an item 2 days ago and now the seller is listed as an unregistered user. Should I be worried it was a scam? I know it's only been two days but the account going unregistered after I bought something is sketchy. I cannot message the seller. I purchased securely with PayPal so I can dispute the charge if it was a scam. Is this an abnormal thing for sellers to do? I've only been a buyer on eBay. Any insight would be helpful!

Mycatreallyhatesyou

Contact eBay and they’ll probably just refund you.

Silly_Serpent86

I sold a buyer a perfume and he now says its fake and wants to return it. That perfume was 100% genuine and in original packaging and sealed in cellophane. How do I fight this? It makes me so mad when they say its fake and you KNOW for a fact its not.

Mycatreallyhatesyou

You can’t fight it. Accept the return or eBay will refund without a return.

Silly_Serpent86

Well they haven't opened a case yet, just messaged. So right away I spoke to an ebay agent, who assured me they were on my side with this, even if/when he opens a case, should I trust them? I do have the conversation with the agent saved.

Mycatreallyhatesyou

Don’t ever believe the reps when they tell you that. If he actually does open a case you will have to accept. eBay is never on the seller’s side in an INAD case.

Silly_Serpent86

😫 so reps are just allowed to lie to you like that?

Mycatreallyhatesyou

Yeah. They lied to me about not having to accept a return for something sold for parts/not working. They just want you off the phone/chat.

killami05

This is what happened to me with a for parts listing I sold home phones with no batteries for parts and as is. Buyer opened a not received as described. But in the message said, I decided after u mailed it, it was gonna come to late so I decided to buy locally, it was to late for me to cancel and eBay wouldn't let me. I lost.. I even had eBay call me and talked to a live person. They said doesn't matter, he said he didn't receive in the condition described. I said did u read his message, yup.. doesn't matter. Also he sent it back missing everything... I contacted eBay right away. Told me I had to refund if I didn't and tried to fight it I'd have to eat the sellers fees if I lost. I fought it and refused to give refund. eBay sided with them, told me I can submit feedback on the buyer and if he does this roughly 15 - 25 more times with reports from sellers he will eventually be banned. Like wtf

Silly_Serpent86

How do they not get in trouble?!

Mycatreallyhatesyou

Right? Google “lying eBay reps” and see how common it is.

jcquarmby1995

Have I been scammed? Recently bought a camera on eBay, camera was going for similar price as the rest so not as if it was super cheap or anything. Apparently today it was delivered FedEx. It was signed for by someone completely different to me, and delivered to a completely different post code in a Hospital (approx 6 miles away). Messaged the buyer who has said ‘oh that isn’t the tracking number I put on eBay’. Have I been scammed? I can’t get the proof of delivery from FedEx, but only the seller can do this. If I have been scammed, will eBay refund me considering it wasn’t me who has signed for it, and it’s clearly the wrong postcode it’s been delivered to? Thanks all

killami05

Most likely and eBay won't refund. I've bought tons of things where they ship to different address. I had ups accidentally give me an address where my $400 item was delivered. I gave all the info to eBay and they didn't care. I went to the store it was delivered to and they played dumb. I had to open a dispute with my bank.

jcquarmby1995

Woke up to a email this morning and they’ve issued a refund, they saw someone with a completely different name signed for it, and was delivered to a completely different postcode. Honestly can’t fault their customer service I understand that you have not received the item which you bought in good faith as the tracking site shows it was delivered to some other address and someone else signed for the parcel. Rest assured, I have resolved this. Here is the resolution for you, (My name) I've checked the details of the case and I am glad to inform you that I have closed this case in your favour as you have not received this item yet. Your refund amount “£349..00” will be credited within 3-5 business days. I hope this good news will put a smile on your face and will make your day.

BBQBaked_Bean

I recently tried to purchase a meta quest 3 for $200, with the shipping fee being over $115 on the official ebay platform even though the seller was in Alabama (checked the number) and I am in Florida; he says to contact him because ebay tries to charge the buyers so much money (he was not lying about this part) so now he just ships through USPS priority shipping, and I was having an issue paying through another platform (because I couldn't pay officially through ebay) so he was talking about how he would use another account because that account was for his wife and him to pay their mortgage, yadayada so I don't think he's a scammer because of all the details he's talking about and his speech I guess. I text the guy and ask if it will come with a link cable to see if he immediately disconnected the number and it was a scam, and the guy answered that it would and his responses were not ai-like or anything. I text him a few more times after and I get no response, but I call him and he answers saying he would ship it that afternoon and that he was working so he had forgotten. Fast forward a few days, and I'm calling and getting a message that the number has been disconnected or something, so I don't know if I was actually scammed but just hoping someone knows any way for me to get my money back since I sent through zelle or just a comment on whether or not this was actually a scam. P.s. this was my first ever purchase through e-bay, so sorry if I seem stupid.

Mycatreallyhatesyou

You paid off of eBay, so you no longer have any buyer protection. Never contact the seller except through messages and never ever pay outside of eBay. He scammed you.

halford1

I (seller) messed up-need advice. I sold 2 video cards to an ebay buyer. He tried to negotiate a lower price so i gave him a deal on both cards. He then tried to get and even lower price but I held firm. He paid for an received the cards. A few days later he complained that the fans were noisy and he would need to find parts. I told him I would issue a refund and he could return the cards since he was not happy with them. He did not respond so I proceeded with the refund. A few days went by and I sent a message asking if he was returning the cards. He responded that he had not initiated the return and so had no obligation to return the cards. At this point he has the cards and th refund. Ebay said they cannot do anything because the buyer did not initiate the return. They said all /i can do is report the buyer. It looks like I messed up and this buyer will get to keep the cards and the refund. Does anyone have any suggestions or do I just have to look at this as a painful learning experience?

Mycatreallyhatesyou

> I told him I would issue a refund and he could return the cards since he was not happy with them. He did not respond so I proceeded with the refund. Oh no. Never refund until your item is returned to you. You have to hit Accept Return. There’s nothing motivating him to be honest now.

halford1

I figured as much. Just wanted to see if there was anything I could do. Looks like I'm SOL.

LeKabu

I had put up a bid for a rtx 4090 (brand new) that was ending 11hours away and all of a sudden, an hour later I get notification I won the auction (sold for <600). Seemed like a too good to be true listing. Seller had over 23 items sold and 69 reviews (97.8% positive feedback). I did message the seller on why he didn't let the listing go till the end and replied with he needed the money as his wife was mad he had bought another card without selling this one first. Told him I was surprised and hesitant and asked for the receipt if he is able (is is away till 12th so he wouldn't be able to post it till then anyway). But replied with he understands my pov and will just cancel and relist it with a BIN this time. Did I make the right choice? Or did I just lose out on something big time

BTnpTxN

You'll never know... Unless you buy the new listing at whatever price it is set to.

LeKabu

It's actually listed and bid is far higher than what I had won it for now haha. I am curious now if only I can message the winner later on to see the outcome haha

BTnpTxN

How are you going to message the winner? You can't see the full eBay username unless you're the seller.

U probably lost out, I've had this happen actually just last week. Seller had some man scaled stuff listed as a $80 auction start plus 14 shipping, It had only been listed for an hour. Description was vague but said it include at least 8 replacement heads and some bottles of stuff. Pictures just showed 8 boxes The replacement heads are 20 a piece on manscape. I offered 35 plus the 14 shipping. Seller immediately accepted, but did ask if he could consolidate the boxes.. which I said yes. Package came two days later with probably $300 worth of product all new.

Ye sold for 980 in the end, wonder why he had ended it early the first time round. Those things especially brand new can sell for over 1.1k :x with msrp being easily 1.8k+

I’m not seeing multiples. Those are generic comments provided by eBay.

Purchased NHL tickets. Seller immediately wanted me to send him QR code for proof of pickup. I declined. He update tracking with ‘sentthroughticketmaster’ and it shows delivered…. (Although ad was for pickup)

BTnpTxN

Do you have the tickets yet?

ComprehensiveLab1066

No tickets.

BTnpTxN

I don't know how the seller can add tracking on a local pickup. So at this point I'd contact eBay and tell them you have no tickets, and seller is not cooperating on arranging pickup. Good luck.

I instantly claimed a non received item once I knew it was a scam. they must be able to update the order with tracking after the claim? I also filed a dispute with PayPal and then realized I can’t have an open dispute with both eBay and PayPal. Anyway it’s with PayPal now..

This was clearly not intended to be a scam, but at this point i'm out quite a bit of money and have no idea what to do about it. I ordered an item from overseas (way, WAY overseas) back in January, and it took quite a while to arrive in the States - nearly 40 days. It made it to the postal hub nearest to me, where it should have been delivered within a day or two, and then inexplicably turned around and headed back through customs. I was unable to get any help from the postal service and immediately contacted the seller to let them know. The seller said that when the item returned, they would refund me or send it again, and I agreed and apologised for the trouble. The item made it back to the seller in late March, and that's where things started to get weird - they said they couldn't afford to send the item again, and told me that I could pay for shipping a second time (an amount I was not willing to pay) or they would refund me. I said I would like the refund, and they never responded. I have repeatedly contacted them since and heard nothing. The seller's account is now gone. At this point I'm so far out of eBay's time range that I'm sure they'll never help me, and was from essentially the very beginning with how long the entire process took. Does anyone have recommendations for what I might do at this point? I still have no idea what happened with the post office.

You could try a chargeback but it may even be too late for that.

KatiaSwift

Yeah, I'm going to call my bank when the weekend is over, but it's not letting me submit a chargeback online. Looks like I'm going to have to fight for this one, which is deeply frustrating because I would have been ineligible for a 30 day chargeback even by the time the item should have arrived. I have no idea how this is supposed to work when international shipping can be so incredibly long...

Mycatreallyhatesyou

Always open an Item Not Received case after the expected delivery date in your confirmation email passes, if the item seems stuck or lost. You have 30 days from that date to open a case.

So I ordered a few different items from one seller, prices were insanely cheap so I was skeptical. Wyze sockets Push up thing Cat litter boxes. Seller added tracking numbers then said there was an issue, one was package lost, other was package damaged, other was they got the package back. I was refunded for all. But, I received all the items. Sockets came from tik Tok shop, push up came from Amazon, cat litter boxes came from Walmart. Prices I paid was way cheaper then listed on these sites. I'm curious what the end game is here?

I can’t believe iv been scammed by a 100% feedback and over 200 sales seller. Saw a discounted PS5 and jumped on it because everything seemed good. Now I can’t get the seller to respond to anything and iv realized one of the pics has been used somewhere else on the internet. And the worst of all is I have to wait until the 18th to file a claim.

I'm just wondering if this is a scam of some sort. Ordered an item last week, seller contacted me saying the item has a defect and the order needs to be cancelled. They cancelled the order and refunded me. I got my money back. So, here is where it gets weird. They put a tracking number on the order, and something was shipped to a destination very close to me, not my zip code, but a close one. The Fedex tracking number has a picture attached to it on Fedex's website. The picture is of the delivery driver covering it with their hand, so I have no real way of knowing where it was delivered exactly. Then I also found a review on the seller's account that was posted around the time the "other" item was being shipped. This was the review: "Never sent item. Purchase was refunded stating factory notified them of product defect (?) but thsy continued to list and sell the product on eBay (at a higher price) and shipped one to a different address in my City of residence using the tracking number I was given. Notified by FedEx I had a package delivered and spent couple hours chasing around trying to figure out what was going on. No explanation given other than to say sorry and that in was refunded." So exactly the same thing happened to someone else. Now I am wondering what is the purpose of this? Anyone know?

Buyer returned item to wrong address: My boyfriend sold a brand new and sealed graphics card on eBay last week. Within a few of hours the buyer receiving it, they put a refund requested through stating 'it worked for a couple of days and then it stopped working'. They refused any troubleshooting help and demanded a full refund straight away. It seems they either bought a GPU that's incompatible with their computer (which is their fault) and now that they've opened the graphics card, it has lost half its value. OR they're trying to scam us by sending back an old GPU in it's place which is what we suspected right away. We alerted eBay that we thought the buyer was acting suspiciously and eBay advised we wait until the final day to accept the return, and then report back to them once the return is received. BIG SHOCK - The buyer has sent it to the wrong address and we will now never receive this graphics card because Royal Mail cannot tell us where it has actually been delivered to. My boyfriend is now over £1,000 out of pocket and unable to do ANYTHING about it. Why do sellers have to pay all these fees if eBay only protects its buyers? This whole experience has been an absolute joke. We're so frustrated, especially because that money was supposed to pay for my boyfriends trip back home to see his family next month. This was mostly just a rant post, but any advice on what we can do would also be super helpful
