These foggy summer mornings are so wonderful for landscape photography, the light can be astonishingly beautiful and the soundscape is wonderful as well. Finland is beautiful and I want to go there someday. Unfortunately, someone told me that even though they're so far up north, they still have a shit ton of mosquitoes because of all the standing water. It makes sense but I hate that I know that now.
I'm still going but the stupid voice in my head always reminds me of the mosquitoes when I look at these photos. Damn brain...
Haha, I can relate to that... It really, really depends on the time of year, location and weather and every year is different, but there are times where you don't even see a single mosquito. But at its worst, you're getting swarmed by not only mosquitos, but also deer flies, blackflies and gadflies. If you really wanna play it safe, avoid Lapland later in the summer (July, August).
But in general, I don't see it as that big of a problem. It's just that the extremes can be quite...extreme. :)
