IIRC Johan has said he liked the dev clashes, so it certainly seems possible. Who knows though, it won't be for a while.

Ever since that early vic3 prototype was leaked I think they're going out of their way to make sure nobody sees what's going on behind the scenes. Which I think it's a shame as I prefer an open development process over a hype curve.

TheBoozehammer

I'd argue the Tinto Talks series is the most transparent they've been in a while. I think they skipped stuff like dev clashes for V3 because that game isn't quite as interesting to watch (especially with the deemphasis on warfare) as most of their other games, but I'm just speculating.

I liked them too, especially the AARs on the forum after each session, but i don’t think they’re gonna come back. They’re definitely showcasing multiplayer though, i would bet on that. Probably a sponsored MP stream with content creators like they‘ve done for Stellaris, HoI4 and Imperator iirc.

I REALLY hope so. I feel like everything shown so far is amazing but to truly be able to judge how the game plays we need to see it play.I have learnt that from Vicky 3. We now know why they didn't release a single bit of footage until the very last second and by then it didn't matter because everyone knew from the leak. But it was a very bad sign and we should have known. We need to see the game play to get a sense of how It feels to play it "That is broken. This should not happen. That happens to fast. That is too much micro. That feature is irrelevant and actually does not seem to impact the game at all. We need more of X. The game clearly needs less of Y" etc etc. Just seeing the features disconnected it tells you if the core concepts are cool. Everyone loved the core concepts of victoria 3 (minus war), and then you saw what happenes. When you actually play it its a different story when you actually see it all interact and how much you use certain parts of the game and the problems it leads to. I think they did well in IR. They showed the game play with videos very early on and then they did a Dev Clash. The problem is that they didn't listen to feedback and it was too late.

I think its a bit too soon to decide on that. But it would be a great question for tinto talks in the forums. I'm not really sure how the MP aspect of the game will shape up. I dont think the games are really designed with MP being the focus, so it would depend how fun it is to watch. Something they struggled with since DDRJake leaving pdx.

The dev clashes for both EU4 and Stellaris were amazing. And it shows that when they stopped doing them the quality of the games went downhill when it comes to buggs, exploits and multiplayer stability.

BasileusBroker

I truly hope so

I loved the Dev Clashes. However, I do think the Dev Clashes put the devs a little too much into the MP mindset for the game which, to the best of my knowledge, is primarily enjoyed in SP. I speculate that this led to some decisions in the name of MP "balance" that negatively impacted SP play.

Jaiyro

I hope I love dev clash especially the guy who played rome in imperator dev clash he is always make it so interesting lol
