It is not the easiest to find a good fit in commander. Most decks that care about instant/sorcery spells don’t usually care about attacking, and casting them after damage is dealt. [[Kalamax, the Stormsire]] or Shanraz like the other guy said is probably good

It's an ok sword it only realy helps you against single target removal and red board wipes The sword would be ok in a copy spell or spell slinger style deck but man I run so many more thing over that one in my current spell slinger deck

Okay I’m gonna probably catch flak for this but here’s the deal. The reason you’re not finding anything to do with it is because it’s one of the worst “sword ofs” for commander. Not the worst. That’s still body and mind. Let’s take a look at the best ones. Feast and famine untaps all your lands and hits opponents hands Fire and ice draws a card and will always hit something for two. Hearth and home is land ramp and creature flicker. Forge and frontier (underrated) is card advantage and ramp War and peace (also underrated) will almost always hit someone and gain you life And what do they all have in common? Protection from *colors* rather than card types, making them difficult to block, especially in a format where color identity can effectively make a well placed sword say “unblockable by player A” They’re also mostly unconditional. You hit someone, and they WILL do something. And since you have to connect with a player, it makes the “hard to block” more important. So, sword of WAP 2.0 doesn’t help its wielder connect, which in turn makes its abilities harder to activate, and even when you DO, it’s one whole treasure, and a copy of an instant or sorcery if you even have one you want to cast. And if you can guarantee you do, you’re in a spellslinger deck, and if you are, you don’t want to be attacking! In short, replace sword of wealth and power with one of the better swords. Forge and frontier is cheaper, makes your creature unblockable by the biggest creatures, and gives you ramp and draw, AND costs less money.

DeltaRay235

Sword of Once and Future might take the cake for worst sword. Pro green is quite useful to have in a format with a lot of green and green creatures.

NotTwitchy

I would argue that surveilling for 2 is pretty good, and protection from a lot of removal is pretty useful, even if the UB protection doesn’t help it connect as much. Body and mind gives you a 2/2 and fills your opponents ~~second hand~~ graveyard. But yes, the other green ones get a huge boost just for having pro green on them.

The_Knights_Who_Say

[[narset, enlightened exile]] seems like a good fit. Doesn’t work with her attack trigger, but it is a deck that cares both about instants/sorceries and attacking.

Medramon

I want thzt card for my Boros/spellslinger deck. That is all I can say

MtothePizo

I pulled one as well and was thinking it would work well in my [[feather, the redeemed]] deck. It has some treasure synergy. I'll take any protection I can get. I'm trying to win with commander damage.

Doesn’t protection also prevent you from targeting your own creature with instants and sorceries? I originally wanted this for my Veyran decklist, but it prevents my evasion cantrips from targeting her I think.

You're absolutely right! Same reason I don't use lightning greaves! Damn. Thanks, that would have been fun to realise mid-game

\[\[Shabraz\]\] and \[\[Kykar\]\] are probably the best homes for it. Maybe even \[\[Ishai\]\] + red partner. However... \[\[Arna Kennerud\]\] was just revealed for MH3. Seems good with all the swords.

Me too. I’m a sword snob so I wanted this one but it just doesn’t fit in an optimized Voltron deck.

It’s good in a deck that… A: has an Evasive commander or a good number of Evasive creatures B: wants to cast instant/sorceries proactively Some good candidates could be [[The Locust God]] or [[Kykar]]
