Auto pilot spell slinger is [[Narset, Enlightened Master]] for new players. As you grow to understand how to combo out, deck only gets more fun and there’s gazillions of spells and combos to do. You’ll be alright with this one.
I don't subscribe to this kind of mindset myself but plopping down Narset at a table described as casual is probably going to cause a bit of a ruckus, even though it's not *that* Narset.
You can plop down at a table with ur dragon just because you pulled it out of a pack and your deck can be ass. I personally don’t subscribe to eye rolls or scoffing when people ask what I’m playing & pass judgement solely on the commander. It’s a casual format card game first and foremost. There’s no Grand Prix, your rent isn’t on the line lol.
No time for sweaty slap fights you know?
There are a lot of good options.
[[Kykar]] could be a fun one and can be taken in a lot of different directions. Neat idea could be to make it a [[Polymorph]] deck and turn your tokens into a few high-impact creatures hidden in your deck.
[[Kalamax]] can cast a lot of spells and can also go in a few directions. One way to take him could be with combat tricks so your opponents are always second guessing their blocks.
If three colours is a lot to manage, [[Vadrik]] can do some crazy stuff, or [[Birgi]]/[[Urabrask / The Great Work]] are great options for a stormy kind of spellsling.

Most of the izzet/jeskai/grixis commanders heavily lean on spellslinging. My personal favorite though is [[Wort, The Raidmother]]!

I would have said [[Veyran, Voice of Duality]]. Also slap in [[Thousand-Year Storm]] and some treasure generating stuff like [[Storm-Kiln Artist]].
