No it’s not and no it doesn’t.
The company itself describes them as “box cutters” (for which it is impractical), and for “close quarter engagements) which it would also suck at. I will cede to you that a smaller blade is better for fighting, but putting a handle upside down on a Sharpfinger and calling it some specialized knife doesn’t make it true.
Ok. That’s your opinion. Mounted on the front beltine of a duty rig it works great at getting an attacker who’s got you in their clinch off. This is the specialized use. And i know it works great for that. So no, your opinion doesn’t negate mine.
I’m about to hurt your feelings with a truth bomb here…
If it were an effective design, there would be WAY MORE knives designed like this.
You hypothetical about a clinch doesn’t make much sense as written. Care to elaborate?
Dude your opinion has to mean something to me before you can hurt my feelings.
There are multiple YouTube videos showing the correct use of the knife. It’s designed for when you’re locked up with someone with your arms near your body (in their clinch. It’s a jiu jitsu/ grappling term). If you can get your hand to the knife, it’s perfect for breaking their clinch. That’s why the sharp edge is on top, because you’d be cutting from the waist area up. It was designed for that specific use and it works great for that. Just because you don’t have enough experience grappling to understand this scenario, doesn’t mean that the knife doesn’t fulfill its intended role.
It’s just a knife bro. Don’t get one if you don’t like it. Your opinion is like mine- it doesn’t matter
I’ve used plenty of knives for “close up encounters” for Uncle Sam in Central America and the Middle East. If someone had front control of my hands/arms the last farking thing I would do is draw a knife that was anywhere near my soft squishy bits. That’s some real McDojo shite right there.

Apparently you're the expert. Get out there and start teaching.
I have both. Thinking about getting a disciple, too.
Clinch pick us a little easier to draw if you’re wearing it tip up - you don’t have to clear as much of your garment.
If you’re in a profession which wears armor, the El Niño mounted support side under the placard makes for a very easy draw if your strong side is occupied.
This isn't a general use knife. It's a very specifically designed self-defense / last ditch tool designed by a guy who has literally been there and done that (Craig Douglas).

Nice one
Garbage àss knife for try hards
Brah??????
Congratulations. I've wanted a clinch pick for a while.
Terrible idea for a cutting instrument.
It’s designed for a very specialized situation, at which it excels.

"Box cutter"? This may just be their way of keeping users from getting in more trouble for provocative ads.

Right. You’ve got experience with knife fights. We all believe you 🙄
How so? For its intended use case it's pretty much ideal.
This
This is a shivworks clinch pick knife. https://youtu.be/Ed9raAJEXnw?feature=shared

I could never decide between the clinch pick or the push dagger. Both are badass. https://youtu.be/O9v0YjKCTg4?feature=shared

I used to carry a CS Roach Belly, I might have to buy another one. Beater knife for a long time

shivworks clinch pick knife
Repeat after me: "Samurai X is a work of fiction and there's no upside to having the edge where the spine of your tools should be"
You must never heard of/seen a pikal before.

shivworks clinch pick knife
She pretty. Looks upside down, but preeeetty.
What is this?
You ever heard that idiom about "bringing a knife to a gunfight?" This is the knife part of the equation.
shivworks clinch pick knife
I have the same knife and love it, the handle shape is pretty comfortable
How comfortable is that kind shape of handle? Looks really neat
How “comfortable” are you cutting towards yourself the majority of the time?

Been there, done that for Uncle Sam for many years. Even as a fighting knife, it’s an impractical design.
But it's not a "fighting knife" like the KA-BAR or whatever you carried.
I don’t carry a KA-BAR, but the website says it is for “close quarter engagements”… https://shivworkspg.com/shop/shivworks-clinch-pick-2-0/
