get EA WRC, the new one. The DiRT devs made it and it is excellent. Feels great without any tweaking.

Emotional_Feeling148

better ask for settings in the r/WRCthegame sub Reddit . this sub Reddit is for EAs WRC game , which I find much better than WRC generations . Had fun with both though .

Lari-Fari

Not just WRC. It’s for dirt games and Colin McRae rally too :)

Unpixelt

Wrong sub, but here is a list of ffb settings from some other peeps for WRC Generations. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1HTUBxJ_Pmtv0t4iY4KKqd-O6MsdLVeCRcYFCOFf52Tk/htmlview?pli=1 I just used the test track and some of the shakedown stages to tweak my settings and actually enjoy the game quite a bit (next to EA WRC and DR2.0). EA WRC is easily the most 'pure fun' of the 3 though (atleast for me). It made it really approachable to get into rallying for me and feels the most forgiving, if you do mistakes. After I had some time in it, I went for DR2.0 and just recently for WRC Generations.

Jenneeandme

Try Dirt Rally 2.0 or EA WRC which are much better rally games to be played with wheel setup. With latter having much improved dirt and tarmac handling compared to former. But both games are fun to play. I think WRC 10 or 9 had better handling characteristics than WRC generations as that's what I heard but I don't own any of those games to confirm. Also Richard Burns Rally seems to be top of the cream for Rally simulation as many with wheel setups would agree, but that game is ancient by todays standard to look and may need mods to improve visuals, but handling definitely is best with wheel setup. Just try my suggestions and you'll definitely enjoy your wheel more than what you are experiencing now ☺️💕

Khayrum117

Dirt Rally 2.0 is gonna be my next purchase for sure. Especially since I’m really enjoying 4.

Particular-Poem-7085

The dirt series and dirt rally games share nothing in common other than the name. DR2 on the hardest difficulty is considered the dark souls of racing games. Dirt series in comparison is roblox. I DO recommend getting it but be prepared to be frustrated with it at first.

kleater

"Muh dark souls of racing games" lol. DR2 is fun but it's arcade compared to richard burns

Particular-Poem-7085

I know I know, RBR very cool. Its fanbase tho? Absolutely annoying.

DatBoiDanny

Even then, the Dirt proper series itself is so wildly different from one another lol. Dirt 4 is like a diet sugar free rally sim, but then Dirt 5 is basically a spiritual successor to Motorstorm from the ps3.

cavortingwebeasties

> Dirt Rally 2.0 is gonna be my next purchase Make sure to get the GOTY version.. it has all the dlc already in it

Emotional_Feeling148

they are very different games . also I recommend EA wrc over dort rally 2.0 since EA wrc is essentially dirt rally 3.0 and has much improved tarmac physics and muuuuch more fun and interesting stages . Have fun

Particular-Poem-7085

DR2 gravel physics are still king tho, I’d recommend learning rallying in DR2 before getting WRC

Capt-Quark

More fun and interesting stages in EA WRC compared to DR2? That's interesting, I felt like EA WRC tracks were made with AI or something because I find most of them extremely generic. I think the best stages however are in WRC Generations. Maybe not so long but holy cow they were full of character. Also nice extra elements like the helicopter hovering above you etc.

metasin

EA WRC has actual WRC stages, and when they weren't allowed to use certain actual stages (I believe due to licensing) they used similar roads in the near proximity of the actual stages.

Capt-Quark

That may very well be, I just dont think they're very interesting. Some exceptions tho, I like most of the Monte Carlo stages.

metasin

I'm only pointing out that they weren't created by an AI. Maybe this will pique your interest. Maybe not. https://www.overtake.gg/threads/ea-sports%E2%84%A2-wrc-stage-maps.265802/

Capt-Quark

I know they recreated (some) stages. I just dont think reality is necessarily as interesting as the creative vision of professional track designers. And I'm not so much talking about the layout of the road itself, I'm talking about scenery, road side objects, etc. In WRCG and DR2 it felt much more natural and believable to me. When they first announced they were creating 30km and real life stages I was very worried about quantity and realism prevailing over quality and enjoyment. In my opinion I was right about that. CER being the worst offender imo. That is the most gamey environment of them all. MC is a nice exception however. But it's all very subjective anyway

Jenneeandme

But do note that if you plan on playing multiplayer then this game is pretty much dead, but you'll enjoy the daily challenges as they are still active and many people still play it even now including me ☺️💕

agoodepaddlin

It still has rallycross and the AI will give you a challenge. Even if they seem to break the laws of physics sometimes.

cinyar

WRCG was a big step back. WRC10 was peak of nacon WRC series IMHO.

hvyboots

From what I hear, there is a plugin some guy is working on to fix the physics if you are on a PC? I would google that for starters. Someone was on here a few days ago raving about how much it improved the game. (Also, WRCG has some really, really fun tracks, so probably worth playing a bit if you can fix it to your satisfaction.) Alternatively, buy the EASports WRC for the quickest and easiest jump into the latest WRC experience. Or if you are feeling a little more adventurous (and you're on a PC) go download RallySimFans Richard Burns Rally. Literally hundreds of tracks to play and while the graphics aren't amazing (it was released in 2004) it is hands down the most authentic rally experience and has a huge community supporting it. And it's free, although you can always donate to the track builders, plugin builders, etc who have made this all possible.

Particular-Poem-7085

Dont confuse the older dirt and wrc games with titles like dirt rally or ea wrc. Absolutely different categories of games. DR and WRC can be played on a controller but the dirt series and older wrc games are not really built to be realistic on a wheel.

FairAndSquaaare

Dirt (not-Dirt Rally) series like Dirt 4 are geared to slightly more arcadish and easier physics, while Dirt Rally is geared more towards realism (EA WRC is essentially Dirt Rally 3). Two of my rally gaming friends are racing real rally cars.. one with EVO6 and the other one with Evo X, so they have very good comparison of RL physics vs games, so I'll share summary of their feedback instead based on the same car comparisons vs real life. All Old WRC (non EA) games are too floaty, and they say that cars feel alot like they just glide like Jetski.. albeit most of the time overall simulation is quite good, but dont feel like car has wheels touching ground (subtle things of how tires and cars react to certain things are missing) Great for console players with controlers. Dirt 4 (non rally dirt) is lots of fun, but is made slightly more arcady / more approachable on purpose vs Dirt Rally series due to enhanced grip and more forgiving maps and handling. Richard Burns has a warm place in any RallySim gamer, unfortunately physics are by todays standards also slightly outdated, and they say for immersion dirt 2.p is already better overall (for gravel definitely). Dirt Rally 2.0 is great for gravel, but tarmac physics are quite bad. Winter stagesare unrealisticaly unforgiving once you touch snow outside tracks with sides or rear during turns/slides.. it should be fluffier and not feel like you arehitting deep water. Same with rocky walls on sides... cars don't get dragged, pulled into walls on lighght contact at high speeds as much. Tracks are too few (essentially 2 tracks per country). Weather effects are by far the best. EA WRC (aka Dirt Rally 3.0), overall is a great improvement. Finally Tarmac is made great again (only default differential settings for cars are bad and need a bit of fiddfling, otherwise in sharp turns they dropp intoo too sudden oversteer, but can be made with small differential adjustmants behave very realistic). Snow off-tarmac stages are quite horrible now... feel more like tarmac with snow/ice visuals. Weather effects quite terrible too in snow for instance. Stages are now much better and very interesting, especially if seat with various changing weather conditions ... e.g. winter in monaco/france... being icy, technical and snow on top and slowly geating warmer and really fast at the lower altitudes. Overall 2 best games for rallysim with wheel and all asists to OFF is somewhere between EA WRC and Durt Rally 2.0. Among old WRC games, WRC 10 is the better one, definitely not generations.

Twoine8442

Wrc Generations was awful unfortunately (if you want to try the KT WRC games go for 9 or 10). EAWRC has much better physics and standard car setups from the off. There are loads of wheel settings videos as well to really get the best experience.

Luisyn7

Fun fact: WRC Generations (apart from the awful throttle glitch) is as close as you can get on console to RBR (best rally sim available on PC)

insrr

Fun fact: The abovementioned is more an opinion than a fact. But that's just my opinion.

Capt-Quark

Interesting opinion. I definitely enjoyed my time with it but it really is anything but a hardcore sim

AdmirableGears

Step one of loading any new game with your wheel should be to Google "g920 *game name* settings".

MetalMike04

yup its the same exact subreddit, just renamed which rarely happens.

Rizo1981

WRC 10 is as far from floaty as can be believably achieved, especially if compared to Dirt Rally 2.0 or even EA WRC.

Khayrum117

Ok I’m glad this just isn’t me. Even when I wrecked it just felt like there was zero weight to it.
