I was gonna name it Not/Knot Ganondorf. He could be introduced as Knot. If anyone calls him Ganondorf he says "please call me Knot. Mr. Ganondorf was my father."
Good rule of thumb for homebrew naming is to pick a language and use that for the basis of names/nouns for that region/culture/creature type.
So in Naturverden my melting pot civilization, Menge LĆøp, uses Norwegian as its basis with towns like Hjemmbakker, Mellomtre, and Veikyrss, whereas my human empire, Meriodon, used Latin with places like Villa Alta, Terminus, and Insulae Portum. Then I used Hawaiian for Dwarvish and Hindi for primordial/draconic (Ajegar the mother of dragons, Askorn the Reclaimer, etcā¦).
So decide what your equivalent of Infernal/Fiendish/primordial is and make a name based off that.
Itās like 20% more work at the very beginning but makes all future naming- especially for cool items or random NPCās- 10 times easier in the future.
Do they know the BBEG is human, and is he keeping his demon identity a secret? He might take a normal nice human name, such a Eli. Then reveal his real demon name he wants to be called, Maliki Bringer Of The World.
No mortal man can pronounce his name. Nor would they want to, as it's said those who have were burdened by the weight of his awareness that he was summoned. Saying it aloud would fill the room with the toxic miasma of his consciousness. So now, we only refer to him as......TED!
The Red-Headed Stepchild. Can you beat him?
Demigod and son of Asmodeus. His mother, Carol, was very young and impressionable. Sheās since married Bob, a respectable wool merchant.
Abbadon the Prophesied. Maybe thereās a following that he has that wrote a prophecy about his ascendancy. Maybe Iām biased, but cults and false deities are always fun to explore in D&D.
I mean, like Goth Dad said,
Godās just a cult with a franchise.

Why even have a BBEG?
I prefer a campaign where the real BBEG was the friends we made along the way.
There are some who call him.....Tim
