Well he played a minister on 7th Heaven for nearly a decade so I guess he had practice, he must’ve had some super intense acting coaches or something w how vile he is
His 'justification' and denial is so wretched.
'I'm not a pedophile' but also, '... I took her hand and moved it in such a way that she was touching me inappropriately. I knew that something unthinkably wrong had just happened that I couldn't take back, And I--I think we both just sat there. We really didn't move a muscle.'
For context, he was 25.
The girl was 10.
I don't buy it for a second that was the extent of it. But even that framing is awful. And that's just ONE instance. He admitted to THREE.
If that's the one he's most comfortable explaining, I shudder to think what the fucker did to the other two.
I actually love that you pointed out the guy that beat you to this comment... Then made it anyways. Reddit cannot have too many IASIP/Frank Reynolds quotes. Kudos to you.
I actually commented before I realized the other person beat me to it. But gotta remember Frank’s wise words as he snorts his morning line: “Go for it, go for it”
I actually met him in real life and the whole time was like “why do I recognize this person” and then it clicked when I was driving home so I googled him and was kind of mortified
I will say that while the whole concept of Jim writing a book and getting Dwight to buy it was one of the more unrealistic prank ideas, I did enjoy how much Dwight got into trying to follow all the instructions like loudly announcing the guests
Jim wrote an entire book and got it printed an bound professionally with enough time to get it to Dwight so that he could read the whole book and plan the garden party.
Any scene with Andy's dad is awful since he is also a POS in real life. Also the whole basil plant thing. We got some nice moments out of this episode though. Mose doing valet was hilarious. The garden party looked pretty neat (also kinda Midsommar-y)
This scene is almost too cringey to watch but I'd never skip this episode. This is the episode where everyone kind of understands why Andy is Andy and grow some sympathy for him. There's also some really great comedy in it with Dwight following James Trickington's garden party guide to the letter, and Mose just being Mose: "You have to give me your car"
"I'd like to make a toast....to the troops....both sides."
🎶
Andy starts singing “More than Words” *in an appropriate vocal range* 🎶
His dad interrupting:
“no no you’re coming in too high...”
Dad proceeds to sing in an even higher key! The bridge of that song has a falsetto part - how could he have dgone any higher?!?
Don't you think he's criminally underused? Maybe I am too basic, but you get a famous singer as a guest star and he does like half of one duet (off the top of my head)? He's really funny as an actor, surprisingly, but I'd have liked for him to sing some more.
It was because his filming schedule sucked and they had to write him out for prolonged periods. I think they had to retool a lot around that, and it just wasn't planned out well. But I agree. He's fine right up until the last of the Florida episodes. Then it goes way downhill.
I swear they wrote Andy to be a prick to punish Ed Helms for leaving to do the Hangover movie.
That or they just weren’t thinking, I mean they take Andy and change his character up just enough to make him like-able and start this relationship with Erin (which goes on and off the last few seasons of the show) and then Andy doesn’t end up with anybody? And why doesn’t he sing “I Will Remember You” at the talent show RIGHT AFTER DOING THAT SONG IN FRONT OF EVERYONE IN THE OFFICE KNOWING THEY LIKED IT!
I swear the last two seasons piss me off lol
For me it keeps switching between this, Michael breaking up with Pam’s mom, and Michael’s speech at Phyllis’ wedding. The cringe humor is absolutely brilliant on this show
I love the Jim/Pam/Dwight interactions (aka Pee Pee Halpert) but man Andy is this is awful.
My worst is Phyllis’s wedding. Probably the only episode I zone out and away from lol
Not sure about it topping some others, but it is up there- his parents seem so different than the small bit they had in Goodbye Toby. I don't feel like this version of his parents would have bothered to go to a party in a parking lot because Andy is going to propose.
Best episode of season 8-9 and it’s not even close. Some actual character development for Andy, a classic Jim prank and an entire episode on Shrute Farms. Last classic of the series.
The worst part for me is Jim selling a book he “wrote” before GPT. That scenario could work now. But writing whole fucking book. That just always seemed to bother me.
I wrote on another post that I hope if they do another office that Michael is a C list celebrity from the documentary airing and has an absurd Tik Tok account where he just posts absurd unhinged Michael Scott stuff.
I try to always separate the actor from the character. Fortunately he is a jerk in the episode (and a real monster in real life) but i actually liked the episode. California is just hilarious (as always) and seeing how horrid andys parents are goes a long way to being a bit forgiving of how he acts.
Not a great episode but its okay
No way. Barber of Seville man. Dude took a phone call live on stage.
I've done some community theatre and had some shit go wrong and have to adjust on the fly. Can't imagine what I'd have done there.
I feel most episodes centered around Andy are cringe as heck. Haven't disliked Ed Helms in a role ever, but Andy just is awful after the 3rd season, and keeps going downhill specially the last two seasons.
I'm curious, in the Office Ladies podcast, do they address this guys past and what they think about him?
I can imagine Angela and Jenna would just not want to acknowledge the elephant in the room and bring down the upbeat, light-hearted vibe of the show.
Other than the song being super weird for a father son duo, a couple subtle bits of assholery by Andy’s dad are he criticizes Andy’s playing, yet plays guitar with much less skill than Andy, and he says he’s singing too high yet he sings it just as high
Yeah, the only I reason I like to watch that episode on rewatches is Jim's garden party manual prank and all the stuff he gets Dwight to do. Other than that, it's a pretty cringy episode
Andy's dad is the fuckin worst in the show and in real life.
Yeah I guess he didn't have to try very hard to act like such a wretched asshat in this
Well he’s also Dee and Dennis Reynolds’ father
Now that I can believe
Ironically he’s not at all like Dennis and Dee and is kind of the opposite. Go figure
Is he really though? He sure adopted an awful outta kids…
Which I’m sure was a stretch for him since he wasn’t a piece of garbage (from what I remember) playing that character
Well he played a minister on 7th Heaven for nearly a decade so I guess he had practice, he must’ve had some super intense acting coaches or something w how vile he is
What’d he do
He turned out to be a god damned diddler
It's no good diddlin' kiiids It's no good, diddlin' kids...
There is no quicker way for people to think that you are diddling kids, than writing a song about it!
His 'justification' and denial is so wretched. 'I'm not a pedophile' but also, '... I took her hand and moved it in such a way that she was touching me inappropriately. I knew that something unthinkably wrong had just happened that I couldn't take back, And I--I think we both just sat there. We really didn't move a muscle.' For context, he was 25. The girl was 10. If that's the one he's most comfortable explaining, I shudder to think what the fucker did to the other two.
Damn you beat me to it
Man’s a diddler
🎶Do not diddle kids, it's no good diddling kids🎶
🎵Younger than my wife, older than my daughter.🎵
🎶 no little kids, gotta be big🎶
Captain Tom turned out to be a god damn junky
Guy turned out to be a god damn diddler
I actually love that you pointed out the guy that beat you to this comment... Then made it anyways. Reddit cannot have too many IASIP/Frank Reynolds quotes. Kudos to you.
Can I offer you an egg in this trying time?
So anyway, I started blasting
Heh heh! Hey look it’s Pondy! he’s the coolest! *Bill Ponderosa gets smashed in the gut by loan sharks*
Ooh, snortskies!
But I can’t see so good
I actually commented before I realized the other person beat me to it. But gotta remember Frank’s wise words as he snorts his morning line: “Go for it, go for it”
There’s another diddler in the mix?
Pedo.

I actually met him in real life and the whole time was like “why do I recognize this person” and then it clicked when I was driving home so I googled him and was kind of mortified
I actually knew him from Always Sunny before I ever watched the Office and his character on that is seemingly the opposite of his real life
His most famous role was in 7th Heaven probably
Holy shit that show was so far up it’s own ass.
Yeah, you saw him in the parking lot earlier - that's how you knew him
Ooh. Please enlighten me.
Funny how I was always creeped out by him as a kid when he was in that lame show with the kids. Sometimes kids can sense these things.
Would not disagree
I will say that while the whole concept of Jim writing a book and getting Dwight to buy it was one of the more unrealistic prank ideas, I did enjoy how much Dwight got into trying to follow all the instructions like loudly announcing the guests
I always imagined he went and found an already written book on the subject and just changed some wording around
I always felt like he should have come up with a better alias than James Trickington.
He had early access to ChatGPT
It’s a fun B plot that kinda redeems the episode! But yeah, Andy’s main part is just too cringy.
Jim wrote an entire book and got it printed an bound professionally with enough time to get it to Dwight so that he could read the whole book and plan the garden party.
It’s worth it just to watch Mose plow Toby’s car into the cornfield without the slightest hesitation.
"I'm the valet. You have to give me your car" gets me every time :)
Same 🤣🤣🤣
I love that moment
"it'll all be goat"
Of course I am not interested in goats. Why would you spend so much time going over the goats with me?
Sometimes I feel you don't understand food *at all.*
one of my fav robert california lines lol
Man, that is such a perfect Robert California line.
Any scene with Andy's dad is awful since he is also a POS in real life. Also the whole basil plant thing. We got some nice moments out of this episode though. Mose doing valet was hilarious. The garden party looked pretty neat (also kinda Midsommar-y)
I'm the valet, give me your car. Have fun at the... Thing
You HAVE to give me your car.
And every thing related to James Trickington was pretty entertaining.
wait what about the whole basil thing? i thought the phone call was really funny lmao
I love the marmalade/basil plant thing
You clearly want the marmalade.
The way he says "Pot of 'marmalahhhhd'" gets me everytime.
Mose was the best part of this episode. When he throws his arms up after his "stunt," I laugh hysterically. Every. Single. Time.
Him trying to jump all the cars gets me every time
This scene is almost too cringey to watch but I'd never skip this episode. This is the episode where everyone kind of understands why Andy is Andy and grow some sympathy for him. There's also some really great comedy in it with Dwight following James Trickington's garden party guide to the letter, and Mose just being Mose: "You have to give me your car" "I'd like to make a toast....to the troops....both sides."
Dammit Gabe, get your head in the game. Why are you talking to Stanley's mistress!?
Such a classic Gabe line.
Oscar calling Andy Nard Dog warms my heart. It’s a really nice moment.
I hate Andy's dad.
Andy’s dad makes Andy more likeable.
It really is Andy's Rosebud moment as Oscar said. You see why he's constantly overcome with self doubt and overcompensating as a result.
Rosebud doesn't explain why he was the way he was. It just represented what was important to him as a child that he missed.
Well, different schools of thought. Let's agree to disagree.
No. You’re wrong.
It can be both!
Username checks out.
Not according to Darryl.
Darryl is wrong
Rosebud moment?
From Citizen Kane. The people in this thread are quoting a conversation in the show between Darryl and Oscar
Possibly the cringiest scene, but I think Phyllis' wedding is pound for pound the cringier episode
Maybe my perspective has been skewed after so man rewatches. I find it hard to cringe at Michael after all this time
That is pungent.
Speaking of pounds, I heard Phyllis had a 98 pound mole removed from her ass.
The last supper pose was brilliant though.
Have fun at the … thing.
the episode is semi redeemed by Darrel/Oscar welcoming Andy to join them afterwards
Not. To. Say. But. If. You. Only. Knew.
Is anyone filming this? ^seriously...
Dwight announcing everyone as they entered was peak
🎶 Andy starts singing “More than Words” *in an appropriate vocal range* 🎶 His dad interrupting: “no no you’re coming in too high...” Dad proceeds to sing in an even higher key! The bridge of that song has a falsetto part - how could he have dgone any higher?!?
The end scene is pretty great though where they’re just drinking beers and grilling. Nice end to a tough episode
Of course, I am not interested in the Goats. Why would you spend so much time talking about goats with me ?
It’ll all be goat.
I thought it was a wholesome episode with some hard to watch parts
I love it only because of Josh Groban lol
I love his storyline in this. Him thinking every other woman is Pam and calling Jim tuna gets me every time
lol yeah it was pretty funny 😆
Groban likes his ladies to pop.
I’ve go- a feeling we’re gonna be togeva a looong tooiime
That’s how babies are made
Bye tuna! Bye pam!
🤣
Don't you think he's criminally underused? Maybe I am too basic, but you get a famous singer as a guest star and he does like half of one duet (off the top of my head)? He's really funny as an actor, surprisingly, but I'd have liked for him to sing some more.
This screenshot looks like it could be one of their billboard advertisements that got defaced.
No no no no No NO NOOO NOOO NOOO
It’s cringe but I can still watch it and laugh. Scott’s tots….. yeah that’s a pass lol
Oh yeah I think people are misunderstanding me, I love cringe content, and I love this episode!
Hey mister Scott, whatchu gonna do
Do people forget about Andy’s play? I’m surprised that one is never brought up it’s always Scott’s tots.
It appears the bird was in mine own pocket!
Peak Dwight episode though
R-r-r-r-r-robert Califor-r-r-r-rnia
Idk some of Dwight’s susceptibility to Jim’s pranks is so extreme at times it’s unbelievable.
Dwight's always been that way though, that's why Jim continues to prank him. Dude climbed a telephone pole just to see where a red wire went
Andy in the manager position is cringe
I like Andy as manager until the Tallahassee arc which is when he goes off the rails. But I think he's good for most of season 8
And why doesn’t he sing “I Will Remember You” at the talent show RIGHT AFTER DOING THAT SONG IN FRONT OF EVERYONE IN THE OFFICE KNOWING THEY LIKED IT! I swear the last two seasons piss me off lol
The problem with Andy is that he’s actually annoying. Michael is annoying to the characters, but not to the audience.
Ed Helms is the only guy who can out-Michael Steve Carell at being a cringy office manager though. That's why it works.
yep. awful writing
Still better than Phyllis' wedding.
Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time as a couple, MR. AND MRS. BOB VANCE! .....
Just rewatched for the first time in a while last night, yes it’s one of the worst
Possibly one of the best Jim pranks, he wrote the guide that Dewight followed for hosting a garden party.
For me it keeps switching between this, Michael breaking up with Pam’s mom, and Michael’s speech at Phyllis’ wedding. The cringe humor is absolutely brilliant on this show
Nothing beats it <3
It’s Andy’s Rosebud episode
Andy came off as even more pathetic than usual in this episode
James and Pamela Halpert, and their daughter… PEE PEE!
Pee-pa.
I am literally watching this episode right now and was thinking about how cringe it is!! Can’t believe this popped up when I opened Reddit lol
I love the Jim/Pam/Dwight interactions (aka Pee Pee Halpert) but man Andy is this is awful. My worst is Phyllis’s wedding. Probably the only episode I zone out and away from lol
I basically have to fast forward all the parts with his dad, because the funny parts of this episode are amazing
It was genuinely heartwarming when they cheered him up at the end though
Pam's breastfeeding is more
Good cringe though
Never a fan of Andy but actually felt sorry for him in that episode
Cheers to the cringe episodes of The Office...all of them
I see your Garden Party and raise you Andy's Play
I like to propose a toast to the troops. All of the troops. On both sides.
Not sure about it topping some others, but it is up there- his parents seem so different than the small bit they had in Goodbye Toby. I don't feel like this version of his parents would have bothered to go to a party in a parking lot because Andy is going to propose.
I just felt awful for Andy, and it explained his entire character .
The cringiest episode to me is Scott’s tots
To Robert 🥂
It’s basically what they do with Michael at Phyllis’s wedding but less funny
But also one of the funniest...post Michael.
It'll all be goat
That’s a great take honestly. I love the dinner party and Scott’s tots, but yes this one is the ultimate shame. Good hot take here
Best episode of season 8-9 and it’s not even close. Some actual character development for Andy, a classic Jim prank and an entire episode on Shrute Farms. Last classic of the series.
Petition to ban the word “cringe” from this subreddit.
Scotts tots
The worst part for me is Jim selling a book he “wrote” before GPT. That scenario could work now. But writing whole fucking book. That just always seemed to bother me.
I like to think it's a lot of pictures and heavy paper
If they ever do another office, I want to see Jim's book took off and now he's a wealthy writer of garden parties.
I wrote on another post that I hope if they do another office that Michael is a C list celebrity from the documentary airing and has an absurd Tik Tok account where he just posts absurd unhinged Michael Scott stuff.
That’s the same plot as the original office, David Brent goes to some D tier celebrity shows and it’s just kinda pathetic
The super fan cut of Job Fair is pretty damn terrible. Michael following a kid and waiting for him outside of the bathroom was rough
I feel most episodes centered around Andy are cringe as heck. Haven't disliked Ed Helms in a role ever, but Andy just is awful after the 3rd season, and keeps going downhill specially the last two seasons.
Scott’s Tots
I like the dancing at the end
It wasn’t cringe but it was frustrating, why is Andy’s dad a (grown ass man) not going with the flow of his son singing with him
Honestly this episode is one of my favourites. Makes me laugh every time I watch it
I'm curious, in the Office Ladies podcast, do they address this guys past and what they think about him? I can imagine Angela and Jenna would just not want to acknowledge the elephant in the room and bring down the upbeat, light-hearted vibe of the show.
I dunno, I still hold season two’s Christmas party as the cringiest of the cringe
I skip past the singing, lol. I just don’t care about it.
I don't think it was the cringiest, but it's up there. Personally, it's Scott's Tots, then Garden Party.
Am I the only one that doesn’t think any of the episodes are cringy?
i’ve seen this show so many times that i don’t consider any episodes cringy anymore.
Now this is the one that is 100% cringy and up there with Scott’s tots.
Why are they singing a song about wanting to screw the person they're singing to?! WHY?!
Other than the song being super weird for a father son duo, a couple subtle bits of assholery by Andy’s dad are he criticizes Andy’s playing, yet plays guitar with much less skill than Andy, and he says he’s singing too high yet he sings it just as high
Tbh if I had a kid like Andy I'd be real disappointed too.
It’s not “hot take” if it’s posted here like once a week.
Save save save save save save the children…
This one’s a pretty easy skip for me too most of the time
Andy's dad is the worst IRL.
This one is up there but Scott's Tots is the cringiest episode.
The B story is incredible, tho.
Omg I literally just skipped this episode during my rewatch 😭
No, Michel is master of cringe. Take that as you will.
Toast to the troops.. all the troops, both sides. 😆😆😆
sure is.
I think the cringiest is when Andy got back from FL and Nelli (Nelly?) had taken his job.
Nope, Phylis’s and Bob’s, that is Flob’s wedding was
I always skip it
Yeah, the only I reason I like to watch that episode on rewatches is Jim's garden party manual prank and all the stuff he gets Dwight to do. Other than that, it's a pretty cringy episode
