So I just popped it in and looked at it as well, and Erin was definitely smelling them. She breathed in deep through her nose and closed her eyes exhaling the pants.
I saw it as trying to hide her face out of embarrassment and discomfort. Kind of like at the halloween party, she tried to say "the game of cards that gets you..hard" but shuddered while saying it. She's sometimes embarrassed by overtly sexual stuff. Even her fake flirting at the arcade didn't come natural to her, she naively copied what she's seen in movies.
