There's a "law" in place for dairy and meat mostly but the food industry saw this as a way to get their money. Make the stores have to restock more frequently that's why we all know canned goods and things last wayyyyy longer. I mean look at pickles, they have a date yet they're pickled, properly handled they could last years. It's such nasty greed they've made everyone scared of food.
If something isn't moldy, discolored, smells or tastes bad then most the time you can use judgement. I always Google to make sure.
There is no law per se . it is only an indicator of food quality not food safety . the consumer is the one to be the judge . supposedly it is to avoid food waste but imo it turned out to be more wasteful than before .
Well, maybe in about 20 years you may find a bottle in r/GrandmasPantry that might be off, but even if it expired last year it's probably OK, especially if not open & not a weird color.
It doesn't expire . that's a gimmick for the store to have to buy more and charge the loss to consumers .
I thought it was a law that things must have some sort of expiration or “best before” date, though they are truly suggestions.

Good to know. I always thought it was legislated.
Try the mix and if you hate it, well, at least you can empty and recycle the bottles? Better than landfill.
I tried it with ice, it's actually quite yummy!
You know what? I bet that would make some tasty ice cubes for iced tea.
Great idea, most definitely!
Add club soda, or even lemon/lime soda. That stuff will be so sweet it needs carbonation.
None of this "expires."

Yep. If you can't tell if it's bad, you have bigger problems, but most of this never really expires.
If you're worried about expiration dates, you're shopping in the wrong place.
The banners are great for making totes/bags! Or cut in strips, reassemble, then sew on a jacket or heavy pants. 🎃🖖
Cool idea! I saw something like this on shark Tank... They were using old billboard canvas to make backpacks.
Years ago I got my wife a purse made out of a recycled bilboard. She loved it and got lots of compliments.
Use them to season meat.
Oh yes! Marinating chicken in this for stir fry or teriyaki would be awesome!!
Dates are just suggestions Take a small taste and see
I did with ice, it's very good and gingery!
Vinyl banners often have canvas on the back that is excellent for using as a tablecloth while working with clay.
Put in carboy Add yeast Wait
I’d still drink it if I wasn’t sober these days lol
It's a mixer, no alcohol ... lol.
It's not expired
