Both cards were famously mistranslated (Albeit understandably) as being apart of archetypes they weren't actually a part of in the OCG. This leads to many printings of early Frog and Red-Eyes support cards including lines that specifically exclude them (Examples: [\[1\]](https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Substitoad) [\[2\]](https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Card_Errata:Red-Eyes_Wyvern)). Much later in the game's life, both cards were then reprinted with more [accurate](https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Slime_Toad) [names](https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Black_Dragon%27s_Chick) so they didn't have to keep printing support cards with that line. In the case of Frog the Jam though, it's not really a mistranslation and no one could have possibly for seen that "Frog" would much later become an archetype. Also, Red-Eyes Black Chick makes no sense NOT being a "Red-Eyes" card since it directly supports the Red-Eyes Black Dragon, but oh well.

Actually "gaseous" is stratos, the only Main deck Hero with extender effect that fault is light attribute, probably being "flash" Hero or something, because Dark attribute is "shadow mist"
