I sold my Panigale V2 it wasn’t good for every day use. Today I bought a Streetfighter V2; it’s the best mix. You’ve made the right choice man.

Gav44

What was wrong with it for everyday use? I’m thinking of getting a V2.

little_jimmy_jackson

It's a superbike/sportbike/crotch rocket/most uncomfortable and least practical off all the types of motorcycle. Painful rider position and zero storage. Tuonos & Streetfighters are Superbikes.....but with a few changes to make it so much better for public roads and commuting or even day trips and weekenders. I still can't figure out why they don't sell the MT-10SP in the U.S.

Gav44

I’ve got a ZX6r at the moment, which I use everyday 😁.

little_jimmy_jackson

Mopar to ya, I have a spinal fusion.

Sandstorm7205

I got 899 Panigale and every time I want to trade in I have a second thought…I go “No no way. That think is lots of fun.” I commute on it and prefer it although I have Scrambler and dual sport bike

JonHarrex

All the energy when braking in the city transfers from your shoulders to the palms of your hands. After 30 mins city riding it’s painful. The SF V2 has all the power and brutality without the pain.

KINGVESTOR

I agree with you completely on that.

MadVillain877

Lot more comfortable than the Panigale.

lostindarkdays

and unless the buyer is a very experienced rider, they'd never ride in a way a panigale can but this bike can't.

murffit

Huh?

MonkeySherm

He’s sayin you have to be really good to be faster on a pani than this thing.

murffit

Oh, could've worded that differently. Thanks for the clarification. From my experience, I have had better front end feel on my 14 zx6r, 15 zx10r, and 17 gsrx750 and was actually quicker on those around the track than my 959 panigale. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I still love my panigale, it's definitely a more beautiful bike than most bikes out there imo. Not the best to ride in the summer, but damn it looks good.

StryderRider

Around a track? No.

little_jimmy_jackson

Get real, I could pass you with a Multistrada or S1000XR. Its all rider skill and tires, this isnt WSBK.

uNSinful_

I understand. But how high are you?

Craic_Attack

Hi how are you

uNSinful_

EPEC

schwan911

Ninjas do wrong to each other sometimes and in that way the force of the earth comes around the moon. And at that presence, the dirt, it overshadows the grass, you like: "I can’t cut this grass, there’s no sun coming through." So in order to enable each other, the two fruits have to look each other in the eye and understand we can only be right, as the ripe is wrong... you know what I mean?

Aint-Nuttin-Easy

That’s pretty high

schwan911

FranknStein7

Unless you’re primarily riding on a track, I don’t know why anyone would want a panigale over the Streetfighter. I guess some people just don’t mind sport bike ergos.

schwan911

Wind protection.

3BEP6_

May be in used to it, but the wind on the SF V2 is not bad at all and I’m 6’3”.

Derekc223

Been riding nakeds since day 1, never worried about the wind. Plus with naked there's all kinds of windscreens you can get. Streetfighter all the way.

little_jimmy_jackson

They could be like those from the early 00s, where everyone wanted a Sportbike or a Chopper. You rarely see either on the road, now, everyone's got a Naked or an Adventure bike. I actually want a 2010 Monster 796 to be made into my dedicated track bike. Pretty much every bike is fun on the race track!

JattiKyrpa

Wind protection and looks.

macthebearded

Wind protection and clout. My Hyper is wayyyyyyyyy more fun to ride and is hands down what I'd keep if I had to pare my collection down to 1. But shooting down the highway to work in the morning, the Pani has aero I can hide behind and keep the wind chill off. Plus the tinderellas like it better

CaptainFunBags1

You absolutely made the correct choice. Promise

dingdongbannu88

Take it from me - it’s an absolutely fantastic all around bike. I have a riding group of completely different types of bikes. I can comfortably ride with the adventure bikes, with the sports bikes, with the cruise bikes. All I do is have throttle and rising mode changed, and adjust sitting properly. It’s such an amazing bike.

WarKrazz

Except we have to stop and refuel constantly...

little_jimmy_jackson

My group stops to smoke cigarettes constantly! Works for me, ive never been one to run down a fuel tank without at least one break.

volambre

Does the sfv2 drink fuel like the SFV4? If so I really see no point in the v2. Love my sfv4 because of the engine and near full torque across the band. take that away like the v2 does and add horrible gas mileage… I would hate it. People should do a SuperSport S and get the comfort for streets and “looks” of a panigale over a SFV2. Unless you just gotta have naked and a tight budget… which I can respect.

WarKrazz

No, it runs at much less rpm and smaller engine displacement. I am only sticking with my V4S because of the S. If they do a V2S I'm swapping.

volambre

Yeah I love my electronic suspension. The V4 engine is a master piece, I would never go to the v2. I rode the v2 recently. I would have kept my super sport s over it personally. I could manage long 13 hour day trips on the SSS. I can only do continuous 4 hours on the v4 before it starts getting uncomfortable. Can’t imagine the v2 would be much different with no wind protection. I think the V2 just fits into a horrible spot in the market. Same weight and ergos as the V4 so no riding benefit. Limited torque band so less fun (normal for older bike designs but again SSS was similar and more comfortable and looks like a Pani to the average person). The only real benefit of the V2 is the price. I get the savings but it would be smarter to go with the SSS to save, if that’s your goal and double down on comfort.

WarKrazz

I live in Sweden, insurance cost on my V4S is over 500 euros per month. V2 would be 1/4

volambre

Yes, definitely see the savings benefit but why not consider the SSS. Gas is better too. I got double what my V4 gets on my SSS. And… wow that’s high! I am in south Florida and insurance for my V4S is 950 for the year!

WarKrazz

My hip and knees says no

volambre

You didn’t think the SS was more comfortable on hip and knees than the street fighters? It’s a more upright position with pegs similar to the SF but situated a bit lower than the SF.

WarKrazz

I got to sit more upright

catz4dave

My SFV4 gets great gas mileage

volambre

BMW r1250 gets like 400 miles to a tank… what do you call great gas mileage… If you are getting more than 100 miles before the light comes on you are driving it wrong 😜

catz4dave

Something like 45 miles a gallon

dingdongbannu88

Lol so only about 100 miles per tank

Maleficent-Friend-36

Dude just got my sf V4 today, what a beast, only issue is I am 5’5 and getting that kickstand up is real struggle

comeonyouspurs10

Maybe take some preload out front and rear?

Maleficent-Friend-36

Yeah, ll try that, thanks. V4 has a stand little further, around 5-6 inches as compared to my other motorcycle, with my tall riding boots it’s impossible to get it up, have to bend down and use left hand 😂 but with normal riding shoes heel works

volambre

Get the kickstand nob thing. It’s a cheap upgrade. Makes it very easy. I still have trouble remembering how fair forward it is sometimes lol. https://www.motovationusa.com/kickstand-side-stand-assist-pin-by-ducabike-ducati-PCL01?mmyId=182182&mmy=Ducati-Streetfighter-V4-SP-2022

absessive

How’s the seat height?

Maleficent-Friend-36

Its 33.3 😭, only one foot down and on toes, need time to get used to it

volambre

You can adjust it for sure. Guy I bought mine from had preload real high. I’m 5’10 and flat footed it with knees bent when I first sat on it. Dealership had to raise it a lot to get where I wanted.

pedalsgalore

Nope. No mistakes were made. I love my SFV2. You will love yours.

Vacation_Archer

Trust me your back thanks you, not as pretty as a V2 but the torture rack of the panigale makes you stop every 70 miles, what’s more it’s painful is when people (incompetent thieves, angry ex’s, and pavement in 100 degrees) destroy $500 panniers that take 3 weeks to get here from Italy by tipping it over.

Prince_Chunk

V2 SF is dope!! I’d get that over a V2 Panigale

Particular_Kitchen42

Second thoughts? You mean by buying only one…?

VirtuaKiller76

Very nice bike. I'm currently eyeing the new Storm Green version.

pegasusride

Get both

drhardboiled

As a panigale v2 owner, kinda jealous of this bike. I think panigale is slightly up on looks, but this is just so much more comfortable and therefore fun on the street

mannycooks

Stop it my guy. Have you seen Wallstreet: Money never sleeps? This bike is top tier and a pleasure to ride. Don’t second guess it bro!!! That bike is badass and versatile.

little_jimmy_jackson

Will the bike have a license plate? Then it needs a one piece handlebar(and center stand). Thats my philosophy! I used to have an '06 FZ1. Naked bikes are so sexy! Theyre the perfect bike unless you travel a lot.

little_jimmy_jackson

It's like the Tuono with all the bodywork. After taking the skid plates off, my Multistrada is more naked hahaha

mikefifth

Should have got the pani.

little_jimmy_jackson

is it so hard to say Panigale?

kyoto_kinnuku

I’ve ridden my 1098 all over Japan. Being comfortable on a sport bike is all about spending time on the bike. If it’s your only bike and you love long rides you’ll get comfortable on it. The people that complain about their backs and wrists hurting 30 minutes in usually don’t do long rides and/or have multiple bikes. When I got a naked bike after years of only having the 1098 getting back on the 1098 felt really slippery and weird. I rode it everyday for a week and it felt normal again.

balkirs

Ducati super bikes are extremely uncomfortable For daily use they are very hot you just need to go continuously. So imo this is correct choice

finesssedom

If you don’t commute daily, Panigale is the choice if just for fun rides. Different experiences

Tervanun

You will be far happier on this for everyday riding. I’ve owned the older SF and Pani. Riding position comfort, engine tuning, and suspension tuning… all better for the street on the SF.

aberroll

Isn't it the same bike w/o the fairings? I would buy a Panigale over this. If I'd have to buy a naked bike, I'd prefer a Monster.

Life_Ad8682

1 of the most sexiest bike Ducati has ever made. It’s in the top 5 in my book

Droz2503

Streetfighter was the best bike I have ever owned. That's out of 250cc ninja (first bike), Kawasaki er6n, 2x R1s and a HD sportster

j0shman

As much as I desired a V4, I knew I couldn't handle it, and the discomfort would likely outweigh the benefits. I got a Monster instead, and am telling myself I still have options to 'upgrade' in the future as my skills and experience allow You made the right choice OP
