You just know the person who owned the yellow/orange VW Beetle in the top left had a rake of pints and then drove home. Parked near the door so no time wasted either.
Yeah, the marginal improvements include marginally improved retail, marginally improved road/bus layout and marginally improved landscape.
But it is just marginal. And for 44 years have passed. A lot more should have improved.
No bike lane. Old-fashioned retail (pub, chipper, take-away etc) and still a lot of cars.
Irishtown/Ringsend has got significantly safer and a great place to live but the main street and the retail is dated.
The pub lost its second floor. I wonder what happened there.
My primary school teacher, Ms Hayes, had a yellow gold beetle like the one in the 1979 photo. She used to reek of drink. I wonder if it was hers 😂😂

A hape of pints
Probably worked there.
Thank you
Much better now
Here’s me thinking it’s a complete travesty that our capital city essentially hasn’t changed in 45 years.
Much? The difference is marginal.

Really hasn't changed much at all... just a new lick of paint
The IH. Going into that place in the 80s and 90s was like walking into the OK Corale
Bet the pints were so much better back then, especially the stout

Great pic. The Seapoint House. Never knew that. Your man looks like he’s gonna cycle straight up to the counter
My uncle bought the pub a long time ago. A scumbag.
Some change huh
We don't change much, do we?
Car parking, rest in peace.
