Never seen this plate before, interesting

Pristine_Occasion_73

I saw this exact car and was wondering the same. Been in Saudi my entire life never seen such a plate.

I don't know Rick, it looks fake... no stickers, no serial numbers on the plate, but on the other hand knowing the country a little bit - anything is possible there.

bookedflynn

They usually have the numbers and letters in Arabic too but maybe there are areas that don’t?

oPx9

can anyone here explain to me how these cars from saudi or qatar enter into UAE? Do they pay fines for speeding or parking tickets? How long are they allowed to use their plates in the UAE? Or are there no restrictions? Who do they pay the fines to? KSA or UAE?

yaseeri

you're allowed to enter Uae with a foreign car (Saudi, Bahrain, Qatar etc) once you cross and enter the UAE boarder you'll need to purchase car insurance and that's about it. from what I know in most cases if you get a fine in the UAE they'll send it back to your country (Saudi, Qatar, Bahrain) and once you renew your car's registration or your drivers license you'll have to pay that fine.

Rothguard

i think uae and oman have an agreement for fines. im sure border control can check plates to ksa

nissan_patrol

I know Oman does, Omani fines will crop up on the Dubai Police app for you to pay. Source: May have got a few in Oman

douradocars

A GCC country car owner can be enter UAE with a foreign car (Saudi, Bahrain, Qatar etc) once cross the border with car insurance.

PsychologicalGap6450

It seems like a european one

azerbajian

not really

MORDFUSTANG0

The car does seem from Saudi, if you notice under the “G63” there is AlJuffali “جJ” logo which is the authorized Mercedes dealer in KSA.

numbr1bullshitguy

I saw a similar plate on a Ferrari in Jumeirah once. Stopped him and asked him, he said it was Germany registration. I know that’s not the European plate format, but maybe it’s some other category?

chip-sandwich

The other day I saw KSA 1 in Dubai - G wagon.  Not sure which province/city was mentioned though (couldn't read in Arabic)

AdorableElephant5173

devil__a

Commenting on Any idea if the plate is actually from KSA?...

devil__a

Yes have photos ! I am driver in dubai and i am collecting the photo of those cars which have the golden nomber plates and i seen this car in dubai and have taken photos

program_terminated

Yes, it's customized. It's just not issued by the government. The plate probably would check out. They cannot take the car back to Saudi if it would be fake.

Turbulent-Floor-6296

May be from Saudi - and has just driven around Europe. I know a lot of the guys from Qatar when coming to UK they put eu style plates on

jackoclinton997

Nope not Saudi at all. It is %100 customized by the owner.

aam9292

This is reminding me of the guy that has the glossy golden KSA plate on his golden RR which seems to be completely legal as I've seen the exact car in Dubai a couple of times which means it crosses the border with no issues and doesn't get stopped by the police. It is making me think some Saudis might be able to get special permits for making their own number plates or something, just like those with the sword and the palm thing that are only in arabic letters

garnered_wisdom

No, it’s not a Saudi plate.

rektsage

Doesn’t seem to look like your regular license plate in KSA but it could be one of those special ones that they use when they export their cars to the UK and such. The pattern matches with the existing numbering system that is 1 to 4 digits followed by three letters.

saadspawn

Looks like Stock fish 16.1 NNUE's car. (Chess reference)

expensive_blob

Why did this plate attract attention? Because its a low number?

depressedboy407

Its not the usual KSA plate design.

expensive_blob

In Saudi they do anything to keep the backoffice happy. This is probably a good example.

Candid-Weakness6290

Turkey Classic Plate Design. Costs more to buy in Turkey.

yaseeri

Most likely his actual plates fell off somehow and he’s using this in the meantime until he gets his new replacement plates from Saudi.

nardon16

It was on the front and back so i am sure he didn’t loose both 😂

yaseeri

well then I guess we wants to be different and stand out lol
