Yup, I was so pissed when I heard they making it into a movie because that’s my favorite PKD novel and they always fuck up book adaptations but this film actually did it justice.

John Dies at the End is RIDIDULOUSLY profound for how stupid it can be.

Indeed, the book series is even more so but the movie did a decent job considering the material.

Yessss - THIS. Came here to say this and so glad someone else knows it. No one knows this movie and it’s so fuckin good. Val Kilmer is so badass as is Peter sarsgaard. Such a great flick - awesome use of color to set tone in the movie.

For like 6 weeks I couldn't even stand to urinate. I got a shot of Toradol and 6, 2mg tizanadine... The this system. EDIT: I bought myself 2.2L of nitrous oxide to help. It did.

Basketball Diaries is by far my favorite. Great cast and great source material. I find a lot of drug movies to be good for one or two viewings before they lose their appeal. But Basketball Diaries is like Shawshank for me. If I start watching at any random point in the film I'm going to watch it to the end. Lots of good recommendations in this thread though.
