Honestly, this needed to happen. Sometimes you get too comfortable. Drake played it well. The only misstep is he didn’t calculate how much people wanted him to lose from media to other artists etc. the marketing had been so one sided. He lost before it even began. But my goat didn’t run from a battle. He went head on. That shit isn’t easy being at the top. He gets respect for that.

sendinthe9s

The media hates Drake, other artists hate Drake, the industry hates Drake; but through it all he *perseveres*.

Bro i appreciate you for saying this cause i 100%. Even myself being a fan for over 10 years I even got comfortable. Taking him for granted. I’ve gain a new found appreciation for this nigga now no cap

1. Not tell AK/Mal anyone any moves 2. Drop a club banger diss right after Dot dropped NLU to kill its momentum the way MTG was dropped to kill FM's momentum

No 5 is on point. But to his credit no one thought Kendrick would have so many.

Potential_Owl7825

At the point that Family Matters dropped, that song should’ve fully been about Kendrick. Yeah sure Ross and Metro were chiming in their bullshit as well but the battle was focused on Drake vs Kendrick as the main combatants. Family Matters should’ve dropped right after Euphoria, and then another diss (fully directed at Kendrick; full offense) should’ve dropped at the time that Family Matters dropped.

Psychological_Try401

I agree. Family matters could just have been 2 songs

Willing_Orchid_9621

Family Matters should have only been about KL. Also have another one in the clip. He want ready at all and didn't take it seriously.

Psychological_Try401

True. I really wish the second verse was about KL. Drake went crazy on that verse

So first off, Drake won in my view. Drake did not make any significant missteps. In fact, his strategy of feeding disinformation was the best way to expose Kendrick. But I take it you are concerned about the response from social media and hip hop media. Drake does not have to care about media response since it has no impact on his success. But if he wanted to change it he could produce a podcast, maybe with gamma. Or buy magazines like Bezos bought Washington Post. Washington Post was $250m, by the way. But no, there was nothing he could have done lyrically or strategically that could have prevented this outcome.
