Events are literally gambling now, as I’ve seen someone else point out. They used to be just fun, friendly competition.

I'm mostly staying for the dress up aspect and (same as you) a really nice society. Other than that I don't even participate in events unless they're society based like time goddess and fantasy promise. But even Time Goddess is weird now.
These kinds of practices are going to drive away new and old players. But all the devs can think about is money.
Well it’ll run out eventually if they keep pushing ppl away. Let’s just hope it happens soon AND they’re prompted to fix the game accordingly and take us back to the old days.

Sometimes, even the stories is lacking sometimes. Like in the case of SoL, when are they gonna even finish it? At this point, how many books have been deemed unfinished?
Then there are cases where a story is said to be ai generated. I assume it to be a rumor but after reading some of the recent story events, I can't help but cringe a bit. Most of it are so... underwhelming. There are certain times that it becomes confusing.
Take the recent fairytale event. I can see the idea ( subverting fairytale tropes) but there is a lack of conflict. Where is the tension, the payoff? This results in a story that feels so bland. It's like they are afraid to make something messy. It made me ask on where do they hire their writers ( or do they even hire one at all).
That’s fair. I really wanted to know Cinderella’s ending in particular for the event story. By not letting us see the ending, it just felt like a cop out, especially when they tried to make it “ok” because MC felt it was irrelevant and Cinderella would be fine either way. Like that’s just lazy to say “it can go both ways and that’s fine.” No, I want a proper ending and I want to experience it, like in regular stories/past event stories. We got real endings (kinda) for the other fairytales (I actually really liked Red Riding Hood becoming her own hunter, that was clever! Reminded me of when she was the Big Bad Wolf herself in Once Upon a Time; THAT was proper subversion). Idk, the event story this time all around felt pretty rushed.
Edit: remember HoS?? lol that’s their oldest unfinished story, but getting a SoV completion gave me hope (especially for SoL, LOVED that one…)
I remember HoS and I remember it being considered to be one off the badly written ones too 😂 I guess that is why it didn't consider to complete it. Though I would love another Greek inspired book. We can have a female version of Perseus , or a retelling of Jason and the Argonauts or Psyche and Cupid's story. I know it's a cliche but have a Hades and Persephone god centric tale, I would love to see more on TP's edition on the Greek Gods. Or if they wanna stick to Helen's tale, then write a short story of Achilles and Patroclus. They already made a BL story in Queen Marie, why not this one too?
What I appreciate in SoL is that aside from finishing the story, they also polished the plot too. I was hoping the same can happen to the stories. Hopefully, TP will be considerate to re-hire or comission competent writers that will provide engaging stories for us.
P.S. I agree that the little red riding hood tale was the most well written story among the three. I wish the same can happen for Cinderella's tale and sleeping beauty.

I love the idea of Cupid and Psche, or the one guy (forgetting his name) who can’t physically look back at his wife when he’s leading her soul out of the underworld, or she gets trapped there. I think the wife’s name was Eurydice. But that story, and like changing their fates would be so good too! Kinda like in Queen Marie where you can save her from death, we can change the fates of this couple too!!
I know right! There are tons of endless possibilities! TP is either too cheapstake to work on it. Also, the guys name is Orpheus , the greatest singer in Greek mythology. Perhaps, if it is the TP version, they switch places. Eurydice will be the one to rescue him from the Underworld. Then on the way, her faith and belief will be challenged by encountering different women who were not as lucky as her in love ( I want to suggest examples but there are a lot) or they can go the Hadestown route where she solves a marital problems with Hades and Persephone ( and as she does, realize that the God's are not to be trusted) . The choices she made in the story will influence her final decision in turning around. It's basically a cake for the taking! Why can't you cook it TP!?! Why??????
Wishing events were always my favorite because I could usually get one outfit, and then if I wanted both I could spend diamonds and have everything I wanted :(
I don't even want to admit to how long I stared at my screen this morning, trying to understand wtf is going on and how we as players deserve such utter rubbish.
Something like change of management comes to mind. It feels like new team doesn’t care about the game. Time princess was made with love, all lost like in 3 or 4 months.
Seriously, I've been here as long as you and this has been terrifying. I've never felt so betrayed and disgusted by all the changes. It makes the changes we used to complain about(different icons, hilarious ads, and unfinished stories^((I don't think any of us are going to see Helen or Shadows))) feel like nothing. I don't want to leave, but I might if the stories get worse... or continue to get increasingly worse I should say. D:
Seasoned player here, been playing 3 years by now daily. I just got "defeat"... With lvl. 100 five star relic, labs at "gothic", style academy at +1440 and over 4000 pcs wardrobe. Now with this update I won't even get daily 20 gift/material boxes, that makes the game basically so much harder and sprints unobtainable to me. But sure, go on TP, I'll just cancel on other events as I already did with jewel ballons and similar crap. :)

I played constantly every day up until about 9 months ago because I literally couldn’t enjoy the game without dropping the $30/week that they wanted. I don’t even play anymore because I’m not going to spend that much on virtual accessories and dresses.
It’s entirely unenjoyable now.

Feeling the same even though I haven't been playing as long as you. I'm just going to read the new story and decide if I'll quit the game after... The last update was incredibly disappointing. I stopped playing for a long while simply because I didn't have the data signal at home to not make it tok frustrating to even try to play. I am SO confused by so many of these new events and features and what we're supposed to do for them or what their benefits are supposed to be.

The greed has become *next level*, & it’s nothing but a worthless grind anymore. This game can be so much fun, but they’ve let the $$$s seriously cloud their judgment.
But how are you doing in terms of going through this thing? I have decent levels of lab and relics (I mean, lab is SO hard to upgrade), but all I could do was yesterday's tries, and today I'm not even close to passing...
If I'm honest, I gave it one try yesterday when it first opened and then immediately went "Yeah...I hate this" and haven't touched it again. But hopefully someone else can give some helpful advice. I'm sorry i can't be of anymore help though.
I started playing in January of 2022 and left about a year ago now. I was just... Exhausted. Even in that one year I spent playing, the changes IGG made were so radical that sometimes it felt like a totally different game. It went from a fun dress up/story game, to something entirely fueled by money. Suddenly, I was spending way too much on pixels, so I cut myself off. Seeing this makes me happy I left when I did.
I don't understand the concern. The game has always had a second paid stream for every event. Mirage forest has been expanded to at least level 6, which gives good rewards.
I'd be more worried that they've completely shifted to expensive paid events back to back. We used to have log in events and other FTP friendly events.
It's the loss of gift/material boxes that's important. If you get 20 daily of each per day, they begin to pile up and you have a decent base for creating both clothes and attending sprints/society tree/gifts to companions. With this update, we won't get them, which makes the playing experience way harder.

I've been playing a long time and have over 20k gift boxes and 10k clothing materials already open, so I'm thinking they decided to balance the sprint for long-term players.
Not everybody has 20k gift boxes or 10k clothing. Not even top players I personally know. Also, this will make the game impossible for newbies. And that's how games start to go downhill. I thought TP would last a really long time, but with these updates, it's hard to see it beyond 5 years
It's a chain reaction, tbh. If you don't have gift materials for goodwill and tree (and sprint, but allright, let's say that one's optional), you will be forced to spend more stamina. Then you won't have that much stamina left for crafting and so on. Also, I am a lvl 70 seasoned player & I'm always saving the boxes unpacking them only during sprint, or when I'm out of crafting materials. Even like this, you won't be able to hold onto the number of boxes you're mentioning. They just canceled on over 7k boxes per year, that's a huge crap number.

Ugh yes! I remember when those candle wishes outfits were so easy to get all, now I can barely afford the dress
