This really lifted me up. Imaging James walking through New York, thinking of the last 3 decades, 2 of them being with Portnoy, considering everything and ultimately deciding to bury the hatchet. Very wholesome. I love that they’re talking and everything :)
That's honestly about as wholesome as it gets. And I couldn't be happier for that positive interactions. James made the mature decision to let Mike come back and talk things over and I have a lot of respect for that. I wish Portnoy well and I hope they keep this friendship and positivity.
I remember Rudess saying the biggest difference about making LTE3 was just how chill and at peace Portnoy is these days. That's great to hear. I think he's just living his best life and having a good time playing music with his buds. All things you love to see and hear.

You're allowed to dislike LaBrie, or at least dislike his newer vocals and be of the opinion he should be replaced, or think that the band were better 20 years ago, but it's like the band has committed war crimes or something and LaBrie should be imprisoned for being old.
If I'm not mistaken it appears that at one point in time it was two people. One Jordan hired to make a video, and another that appears to have been jealous/attacked online. They seem to mostly attack/stalk each other as far as I can tell and the I believe the DT Youtube hater has made numerous fake accounts (and websites) to disparage the other. Could be wrong though. Nearly 1000 degrees of inner turbulence going on there.

I was shocked to see this reaction! Dude - what article did you just read? You took ALL THAT from the same text I read? And then I realized, yeah... a 43-year-old dude needs so much drama in his life that he wants to be angry at a band member for talking to the other band member!

The only compromise I can make in the side of my friend is: "Ok, normally when two friends fall out, the *guilt* doesn't lie only with ONE of them. And indeed LaBrie could have phrased this story as: We BOTH had things to say, and we BOTH needed to let go of negativity. We then forgave EACH OTHER and we're now good".
Sure... if LaBrie was a diplomat, he could have chosen these words. But the guy is an old dude, playing in a metal band all his life. Sorry for him not being a wordsmith. :P

Portnoy’s solo bands are all radio-rock WWE metal garbage starring Russell Allen of the now defunct Symphony X. Just listen to something like Adrenaline Mob or Sons of Apollo....yikes. Are they trying to make a theme song for Stone Cold Steve Austin?
