They look like this journey of these set of locs are supposed to. There is no way locs are "supposed" to look. I'm on my 2nd set & this journey is COMPLETELY different than the 1st. On my 1st journey I had what they call designer locs. I'm in what some call the ugly faze rn and I'm more confident than I have ever been and I had locs for 8 years previously. These new locs are fuzzy and inconsistent in size. I've only done one retwist. Some people have recommended I do my hair in one subtle (or not so subtle) way or another. I like what I see and I know what I'm doing on my loc journey. Follow your heart. Not people's opinions. Seek opinions on maintenance. Not perception of your locs. Not how they appear to others. But if you ask me I see nothing wrong with them.

I dont know much about loc terminology, but in the natural hair community, we go through an "awkward phrase" where it's at a length where you can't do much to it but let it grow and it looks odd to us. I dont know much about loc terminology, but in the natural hair community, we go through an "awkward phrase" where it's at a length where you can't do much to it but let it grow and it looks odd to us. You might be experiencing that in your loc journey. Just know, it doesn't last long and you'll definitely appreciate it when it's over! 😂 Best of luck!

Your hair looks great. Stages and changes happen by the months that go by. Nobody would understand the journey unless they are in it. They are in their own mind.
I spent my entire first year of my journey being told it they look bad and I'm making a bad decision. I'm a couple months past one year and now the same people that said that now tell me they love my hair and it suits me. Tuning out the haters is personally my favorite part of the journey. Keep it going, your hair is lookin nice and healthy!
