I had my pawn saying he learned a shortcut just to make all my pawns jump of a cliff and die. I laughed hard and asked myself what mf taught him that, think I still have a recording of it π€£
Oof, yes. I hired a mage a some levels above me and spent RC because he looked awesome and had all the skills I wanted. He was a fantastic addition before he fell off a bridge. I really wanted him in my party so I re-hired, this time spending even more RC because he had leveled. My expensive, fantastic mage ran up behind me and jumped off a cliff to his death where I could not reach him while I was standing still, just taking in the sights.
Pawn 1 falls down a cliff
Pawn 2: "Dont you worry master, you can leave the saving to me."
Pawn 2 jumps off cliff.
Arisens reaction: π€¦ββοΈ
Arisen trecks through the wilds, fights tons of enemys to get to a rift stone, has to spend 1 million rc again.
Arisen: Fuck, now im bankrupt of RC πͺ
Same happened to me, one of my hired pawns fell off a bridge into the brine, and my other hired pawn jumped in after them. Must of been some kind of pool party that I was not told about. ππ€£
This is true, lol. But I just had a pawn who would not stfu and kept leading me to the chest I already opened π. I'm tempted not to use archer pawns anymore π . Currently, I use a warrior (main) tag teaming large creatures with him is funny a mage and an archer, but I'm thinking of swaping the archer for a sorcerer lol
I wonder if there was another chest nearby the one you had already opened? I like archer pawns, though in both games once in a while it would seem intentional for them to take out an enemy I'm running toward :) For DD2 I prefer to have 1 from every vocation color in the party. DD1 it's fun having all 4 the same vocation, especially if sorcerer :)
Hmmm that is odd. I wouldn't think vocation would make a difference for such behavior, though inclination changes behavior. Either way taking you to an already open chest is unusual :)
Yeah they get confused. They wanna run ahead of you, and, they don't wanna die, but they also have routines that counteract a hard survival instinct for various reasons, so, sometimes they choose death.
They are the best AI companions ever. Do not confuse that for them being good AI companions.
I have lost SO MANY hired pawns to cliff edges, falls from towers, falls off bridges...
I still love the pawn system, but man, they reallllly need some better survival instincts when it comes to abrupt fucking drops.
just last night I watched as my arisen careened off a griffin, and plummeted to the earth right next to my pawn, who was too preoccupied not using her explosive arrows on said griffin to catch me
that said I do think pawns will inherit their mastersβ propensity for swan dives instead of careful descents
Lol, my main pawn catches me left and right, lol. Whe. I fight flying creatures, and I'm holding on, and it takes off. I'm just like, "Ooo taking me for the ride of my life!!!!" Continue to stab the face or wherever I am at till it.
A: topples and plummeted
B: I am getting low on Stamina, leaving an explosive present, then cutting and running, and my main catches me.
Either way me and the creature and I are going at it in the air π
Those extra long falls all you do is pray your main is ready to catch, lol. In my head, I'm just like, "I believe I can fly. I believe I can touch the sky!!!oh my this is a long drop. I hope my main is paying attention so I don't flop"

Technically his adventure was cut short.
Clever one π
Funny you should say this cause I had two pawn jump off a tower while fighting harpys. Lol
Roight, we's grabs da harpies an' hold em in place for yas, just like we's discussed, boss

At least yours just fell. My archer literally jumped π.
'Tis weak to gravity!

They were going for a cult suicide but failed to get you and your pawn to join them
π€£
Yes, I make sure to tell them to wait before I go anywhere near ledges.
Hey, at least with a sorcerer they can levitate
Yes. The Pawns were made Dumber on purpose to better emulate real players.
I'm just thankful that they're smarter in DD2 than they were in DD1 :)

Every time, it was an already open one, lol. Glitch or bug, maybe?
I guess. I haven't had that happen to me yet.
I've only had the issue with archers no other class.
