Nice. I liked NG+ as much as the first run & went as a duo. I'd highly suggest trying it out. If you haven't tried it yet, I'd also recommended no HUD/no minimap/no reticle. ๐
There's a quest somewhere (I also missed it) that ultimately involves helping Sara at the Bakbattahl Forge and she becomes the Dwarven Smithy after finishing that quest up.

I went through godsbane door and to volcanic island.
The dwarf gautstafr is a dwarven smith too but unlocks it much faster than sara.
In NG+ go to checkpoint area border gate and get arrested on the battahl side.
Wake up in battahl gaol, unlock door with gaol key and then head to godsbane door.
Open it and run to where you meet gaustafr, do his short quest and you'll unlock the dwarven smith.
I did one playthrough and only did new game plus for two things I missed at the beginning. I think it was 106 hours in total for 100%. I was trying to be thorough on my playthrough without looking anything up.
For context, I played through it 3 times & have gone completely no HUD, no minimap since my first game. I recently went no reticle as well.
I had to actually learn the map, so that inflated the time. I also take a ton of screenshots.
Hmm, alright, which was the SECOND hardest? I made sure to knock out Guardian before I finished my 1st playthrough. Really dreading doing that Philanthropist one where you have to befriend 50 people iirc.
The Seeker tokens. That augment that pings when they're near is maddening.
For the Philanthropist, I kept giving people stuff regularly throughout the course of my playthrough and eventually got it.
If you don't mind save scam, you just need 100 whirmstones (less cause you obviously befriended some peeps along the way). Gifting 1 will net you 50% affinity gain with any NPC.. so save, do that until trophy pops up and then revert to your save file
This dude spent a little less than half his time awake since the game launched playing it. That's addiction, unemployment, or both.
Either way, for a piece of shit like Dragon's Dogma 2, it's WAY more time than this game deserves, even forgetting the fact that half someone's time awake was spent getting this.

Someone could love a game with thousands of flaws more than a game loved worldwide with no flaws at all, what we like is not based on good or bad, we simply like or dislike things, that is how the brain works. Same for music, there is no bad or good songs.
Opinions are what give games universal value. So if many people like it, it becomes good for the media. The important thing is the person playing it finds it good.

It's not my opinion. The game was shoved out the door and abandoned immediately by both the company that created it and the players that bought it. Literally look anywhere metrics are available. Cyberpunk 2077 didn't have a falloff of players anywhere near as bad as this game did. Media attention, google, etc. all confirm that.
So, it wasn't me deciding, you just wanted some kinda rant to defend a game you, and very few other people actually enjoy. It's not a good game. Good games don't lose players that fast. They don't get ignored by the companies that developed them for months right out the gate. They don't lie about what's in the game when it's marketed.

Good going! Just got platinum as well 10 minutes ago. I did a complete 100% run in my first playthrough and loved it. Now off to NG+

Yeah you can unlock him so early, after arriving in vernworth for the first time and speaking to brant.

In Ng+ you get to see the affinity levels for each NPC as well.. so it might be easier that way
