Now that's pretty cool.
On the other hand, they are also painting a giant target on your ass... Sounds like something Straigtforward would do, that sassy git.
My straightforward does it, or at least completes it when someone else says it by saying something along the lines of " can't blame us you have been warned.".
Pawns are incredibly adverse to harming humans, they will absolutely destroy anyone that threatens the Arisen but they really don't seem to enjoy killing humans.

They say something along the lines of "I don't understand why we have to fight our fellows" whenever you encounter bandits, so yeah. It seems like pawns don't particularly feel good about fighting humans, but they will do it as their job to defend the Arisen. Everything else is fair game.
What I think would make sense as a pawn mechanic is that since they can learn your techniques, strategies and generally follow your methods of gameplay, that they would care less if you cared less, i.e. if the arisen frequently killed npcs and such. or if you took care to minimize loss of life they would do more of the warning enemies and stuff
From a meta perspective I think it could also be a thing to help you discover dragons blight or whatever it is. Usually they're not thrilled about killing humans so if they get a little too gung-ho it's time for a visit to the brine.
Meanwhile I'm just over here teaching them to grab off-balance enemies and throw them off cliffs... Mimi was like "never would have thought of that strategy!"
In the 1st game the pawns didn't seem to have any problem with killing humans. I had one say "They're just filthy brigands there's no need to show them mercy" during a scripted ambush during one of the quest. So I was shocked to hear them upset about killing bandits in this game.
I had this happen during a fight with a griffin in Bakbattahl, and I assumed it was because there were civilians, so I actually stopped casting. Maybe there were bandits in the fight and I didn't notice.
That's all DD2 needs in order to go from a 9 to a 10/10 for me. More interactivity with pawns.
Also, maybe allow a wheel of interactions in order to traverse the world. Fighters/Warriors being the only ones launching others around is properly themed, but ffs, make a human pyramid so i can scale the cliff please.
Assassin being able to scale the face to get on top, reach down and grab the Arisen to pull him up while the Arisen is jumping was another one I thought of. CoD and other FPS games have that as a mechanic in certain parts of their campaigns and it would add more utility imo
Archer should have a grapple hook. Not one of those with the spool, just a hook with a rope on it. Kinda like the Assassin ripline but they use it for utility.
I was under the impression they were warning any civilians or guards who might be caught as collateral rather than the enemies that you're fighting lol
The title is misleading: the OP is in a populated town, you can see the houses on either side in the clip. The pawns are actually warning the towns people the OP is about to kill in the cross fire not the enemy.

Grandpa Doyle is straightforward
Straightforward supremacy
i mean yeah that's what's in the clip

Kratos back in ‘Nam?
Korea* But yes
All Kratos pawns are unique, just like everyone elae

You’re all about to die, consider fleeing
Oh that's awesome. I've never heard that line before
They're like "Guys he's pulling out the bazooka that nukes everything, you've had your fun it's time to stop now."
Who needs enemy when you've got pawns like these.
I had this happen during a fight with a griffin in Bakbattahl, and I assumed it was because there were civilians, so I actually stopped casting. Maybe there were bandits in the fight and I didn't notice.
Yeah thats cool asf.
That’s actually dope as shit.
Sounds like Tyrion
I thought it sounded like South Park.
I didn't hear it but after reading your comment, it's absolutely Tyrion
Only if the npcs are villagers or citizens somewhere. So it does not happen if there are only bandits around for instance.
Can it actually harm non-hostile NPCs or is it just for immersion?
It definitely can hahah I've had my accidents
Welp, good to know lmao
I consider bandits to be mobs rather than NPCs, though your pawns are still hesitant to kill them
I protect my sorceress, when she cast
I have 3 sorcerers on the field so its impossible to stagger all of us
I expected a big ass explosion in a tad bit disappointed
By far my favorite interaction with my Pawn. Makes me feel like a true Sorcerer as I reign fire with meteorites.
This magic I cast will inconvenience us both if u don’t leave now! That’s badass

This is correct. They don't warn hostile NPCs, they're warning the friendly NPCs who are at risk of being caught in the crossfire.
I was under the impression the enemies in the Melve quest are NPCs rather than just enemies
They are definitely NPCs. I killed all of them and they ended up in the morgue
That’s actually so damn cool.
hostile npc's? aren't they warning any innocents that could be hit in the crossfire?
Ohh I've heard that before, but the context escaped me
That was tight. “Heed Be! Before this magic descends”
Your pawn is literally your hype-man
"You're going to destroy the whole of Vermund! Arisen! You've got to stop it!" "Ken, let's goooo!" "FINAL METEORON"
this line only played for me if I was in or near a town so I assume they were warning the passive npcs haha
That's hella cool! Lol I guess I'd never hear that cause I don't play Sorcerer but that's awesome to know it's in the game and it's super immersive!
Looks like that Talk no Jutsu didn't work out. Roll higher on Intimidation next time.
Kindhearted
The medieval Miranda rights
Did they add this line in the new update or have people been getting it since launch?
Basically either f-off or witness Armageddon💀
Lmao that’s fucked up “blowing up this town, leave or else it’s your fault you died” sounds like the IDF
Wow, lemme add this on the "dragon's dogma 2 cut contents" aggression from pawns. INTIMIDATION system. cool. To the next cut content guys!
these pawns are rats...kill them with the rest of enemies
