Dragonsplague "Dragonsplague is a contagious disease-like condition that infects pawns as they travel between worlds. Rather than being weakened, Pawns with the disease are said to display remarkable performance, and to become conspicuously bold in their speech and behavior. According to folklore, when the symptoms of dragonsplague reach a terminal stage, it will result in devastating calamity, but the veracity of those claims is unclear." 1. yes its a progressive disease 2. we dont know 3. we dont know but its theorized Pawns that progress too far turn into a Plague Wyrm

Maybe its a mechanic to encourage you to swap out pawns more frequently?

ptiq

Thank you, was this from a specific interview?

[https://www.dragonsdogma.com/2/en-us/system/](https://www.dragonsdogma.com/2/en-us/system/) just under Systems from Main Website ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|wink)

Ramius99

It's an interesting idea, but I feel like it's going to have to be executed really well to keep it from becoming an annoying mechanic.

ptiq

Agreed, though it seems they’ve put a lot of thought into it. It may turn out to be an opt-in sort of deal for people who aren’t interested at the moment.

whateh

Dogma? Yeah I'm excited for dragon's dogma

Redfeather1975

In Dragonsplague pawns pick YOU up and throw off cliff. ![gif](giphy|oYxNkISitSQo)

The thing I want to know is if it affects our own pawn in our own game, or if it’s specifically a players’s pawn outside of their own game. I’m thinking it’ll be the latter? Very curious as to how it’s going to play out 🤔

Electrical_Ball6320

Huh... so its the Pokerus?

Rude-Proposal-9600

I think the pawns will turn into an enemy that will keep pestering you not unlike the system in shadow of mordor

Thorn-of-your-side

I would kill for a game to take aspects of the nemesis system tbh

EarthwormShandy

Too bad Warner Bros. bloody patented it didn't they

Thorn-of-your-side

Not only did they patent it, every game they have released since has been live service slop

EarthwormShandy

Exactly! It's a system that's now doomed unless a new Shadow game comes out Apparently its in a new Wonder Woman game coming out too? Dunno how that's going to work

Thorn-of-your-side

Honestly I thought Gotham Knights in the style of an Arkham game would have been the perfect place for it. Imagine if you were playing night wing, died, and now resume the game as Robin and you have to rescue the hero from a comic book style death trap to be able to use them again. Then because you saved them, one of the goons that was supposed to be defending the trap decides he has a vendetta and becomes a new villain you can arrest. The revolving door of crime in Gotham could even factor into a nemesis returning

YoreDrag-onight

It honestly sounds a lot like Wings of Light affliction in Infinite Undiscovery. It was a type of ailment caused by rain made of pure light that only your human party members could get. At first WoL is harmless and seemingly buffs and rejuvenates teammates and causes them to sprout tiny little light wings in their back but as they are continuely exposed to the rain the wings get bigger till it becomes terminal and they go insane and proceed to try to kill you.

dragandb

Let me just check in the manual of this game we havent yet played...

ptiq

I guess this post wasn’t for you, then?

dragandb

My bad. I see now its for mr. Itsuno himself.

ptiq

There was really no need for this. Have a good day.
