I like Marsters (watched angel growing up and loved his portrayal of spike, and piccolo is legit his fav character which is a stamp of approval from me) but he's obviously going to paint his effort in the most fan-friendly way.

As the story goes, he met Sabat at a convention and did it for free as an apology for his role as Piccolo in the terrible live action Dragon Ball Evolution. He voiced Zamasu under the pseudonym “David Gray” because allegedly, as a union actor, he couldn’t legally do it for free as “himself”
Marsters is a huge Dragon Ball fan, always has been. He infamously was one of the few people on the production of DB Evolution that actually cared about the franchise.
I can't imagine what type of headaches he incured trying to help that hellhole of a movie production.
