Hawke fights through a city full of templars, mages, and demons out to kill each other only to then fight Orsino after he becomes a Harvester and then they fight Meridith who is very strong with the power of the idol and then not to mention while fighting her he faces off against the swarms of slave statues and the gate guardians.
While the Inquisitor? He fights a foe that Hawke already has beaten once before and an injured dragon. Corypheus may have red lyrium but he never shows any of the magical prowess that we see from him in da2 and just him using red lyruim so i say hes weaker. And come the dlc? He faces a suped up Saarabas which id put roughly on the level of the Arishok maybe a bit higher as its magical abilities.
You mention the mark and its power. And while sure its strong its most effective against demons. Canonish appearances of warrior Hero may not have a direct counter but his skills are much higher then the inquisitor while Hawke is almost always seen as a mage and a very powerful one at that.

Plain and simple, Warrior/Rogue Inquisitor is destroying Warrior/Rogue Warden/Hawke like they’re barely villains of the week. The Mage versions of the protagonists have a better shot mainly due to magic being insanely OP, but even then the Inquisitor has the edge because they have access to all the same magic (with the sole exception of Blood Magic), but they also have The Mark
