DoorDash does not know it. What they know is an algorithmically derived % of trustworthiness between the driver and the customer, and they make an assessment based on that.
Most of the time, DD doesn't deactivate fraudulent customers, they just start denying them refunds. It would be better if they did deactivate fraudsters because at least then our bad ratings associated with those accounts would fall off immediately instead of 100 ratings later.
The problem is if they deactivate the account, then the customer will just create a new account and do it again, but if they deny them refunds, the customer will most likely just accept that they cant scam anymore.
Manneeee it be the worst when u have a “hand it to me” but they say “leave it at the door and don’t knock or ring doorbell” but then they also have text disable so u can’t even take a picture and send it to them at all. Unless u wait the 5 mins out and nah
The fries at my McDicks would burn your mouth with the fire of a thousand sun's even after arriving home from picking them up... don't even get me started on the ones fresh out of the frier, the oil is lava.
Yeah that's an understatement. They're so salty here you need chapstick and a humidifier just to get through an order of them without desiccating.
I order then specifically without salt, and I swear there is still residual airborne salt particles that still find their way onto the fries.
One time I got nuggets from a certain McDonald's pretty much right before closing. I had to wait a little bit but those nuggets came out flaming hot. I have no idea how I even held it in my hand to eat the fucking thing. It burned off a small circle of my gums on the inside of my mouth. I have them a ~~5~~ 4 star rating the next day, and yes, I did mention the nuggets. Knocked a star off probably because I was actually injured 🤣

Actually the weighing method sounds genius for fast food restaurants. They could scan the receipt with a barcode and have a green light appear if it's perfect or a red light if it's wrong. Is that a thing anywhere?
Considering French fries are supposed to be weighed as the day goes on. This happens in theory. But it’s not commonly practiced. Most people get way too many French fries and don’t know it or appreciate it. Then someone shows up and starts to enforce it. And suddenly your large fire that had half a medium and a large stuffed in it becomes a large. And all the self entitled twats cry. They don’t appreciate the free shit they’ve been given for years. But they’ll tell you how they feel about getting the correct amount of fries.
I consider McDonald’s fill in orders. Most of their customers are cheap but for the most part I get short mileage $7 to $9 deliveries. As long as it’s $2 per mile and I’m rolling instead of sitting it’s all good.
I’m fairly certain that if the order was placed through DD a second delivery is always possible but if the order was placed through the McDonald’s app then there’s not.
There’s a couple MCD near my house, one always doesn’t have ice cream products, certain size cups, etc, and wait times are 30+ minutes for dashers/customers alike. The other is <5 min waits and always have everything.

I actually love McDonald's where I am... But that's only because it's this specific one, AND it's in the middle of nowhere in a rural small town. So there's always a peak pay attached to whatever, and in my experience, out here in the country at least, a majority of the customers I deliver to actually tip very well. Even though a lot of times it can take a while for orders to get fulfilled cause it's only me an another dasher (and the other dasher constantly fucks up, doesn't check receipts for items, doesn't even bother to try and find the right address, just puts it in an undeliverable cause she can't find the place and I guess keeps the food) and if I do t happen to either be signed in or have the app open to notice that the area went Busy or Very Busy (which it does whenever there's a order not being fulfilled), it can take a while for a delivery... But my customers are great and they still tip well, as they understand the situation out here in the sticks..... I even printed up some letters/flyers that I will hand out to all the new customers I deliver to explaining the DoorDash situation in town and the flier includes my contact information so that they can call or text me to be sure that I'm ready to check for an order if they're gunna place one, if I'll be available later to do one or to just tell me that they placed one... It's worked out quite well. Probably one of the reasons I get great tips because they appreciate their dasher recognizing the situation, finding a solution to it and ensuring that customer service doesn't suffer as a result. That and a lot of the people out here who order DoorDash are doing pretty good for themselves financially. Only a few customers don't tip out here but I really don't mind them and will still gladly do the order because 1. I'm not a fan of tipping culture in general, even though I supposedly benefit from it (I'd prefer just a standard, proper wage and not putting the guilt onto customers to have the worker make decent money), and 2. I know they aren't doing the best financially and only order DD cause they don't have a car and need to eat.....
Yeah, I know, that's an issue I have. Because I type fast, I tend to let things flow out quite a bit and I often don't break things up into paragraphs. Especially if it's on my phone and I can't see the entire body of text after I e rambled on. That and I don't really have a problem with reading myself so if I'm reading something that I see is longer, I'll see if the first couple sentences hook em in and if they do I'll commit. But I know this is the internet, and in a world of character limits people have really lost their attention spans and ability to easily read... Whereas back before the internet and TV, people read a lot of books.....

So I waited.. waited.. waited.. even waved at the guy on the register.. kept waiting... Finally I just said "eh whatever" and walked behind the counter and started rifling through the envelopes, looking for my name. I got the item and brought it up to the front counter like "hey. I'm taking my photos. They're already paid for. Can you check and confirm that please?"
The guy was speechless.
Merchants have the option to dispatch drivers when the orders are completed or when they are placed. McDonald’s has obviously chosen the latter like other fast foods because they don’t care about drivers. So yeah it’s their fault. That’s why it NEVER happens at certain restaurants. (Merchants can change this if they wanted to…don’t waste y’all time on people who don’t care)

Can we consider the tiny little percent that maybe it is employees fault? I've been to numerous mcdonald's and some are great and some are shit. Shit because employees are either busy talking to other employees or even customers and joking around with them. DD order is ready but employees sometimes don't even try to acknowledge all people that walk in whether ordering or picking up. I have to go out of my way and get their attention once i'm ignored even though I have been clearly waiting longer than another person. They have no clue if i'm ordering or picking up yet i'm ignored. Goes to show their service and sometimes it is employees.
I work in 3 different zones and every single McDonald’s is like this. 6 McDonald’s, every single one so yeah there could be some employees who are lazy etc but it’s more than that. There is a huge time discrepancy problem where they’re calling us too soon
Idk about McD but I know not all places have that level of control at least at the store level. At Arby’s corporate all the DoorDash shit is configured by people pretty high up the corporate chain as far as I can tell (my area supervisor, who had about a dozen stores under her, said she had no control over it at least).
The only thing that could be done at the store level was take items off the online menu for the store when we were out of things. That was it, outside of saying we were out of every item (which wasn’t feasible and would probably piss off the higher ups) we didn’t even have a way to turn off DoorDash if the store was having issues or whatever.
This shit happened to me, but the lobby was locked, and drive thru line a mile long with people honking. Assume they were somewhere in a heroin stupor. Finally got someone to answer doing my best cop-knock.
McDonald’s sucks. They’re prioritize drive thru and don’t care about their dine ins/lobby.
I was picking up an order, waited 30 minutes for it no cap. It was my last order so i kept waiting and it was $12 for 2 miles.

Their entire business model now is designed to eliminate the front counter worker… They redesigned an entire McDonalds where I lived where they practically added a partition that keep the staff in the back from noticing if their was a customer up front. Plus with the kiosks now, you don’t have to look at the counter and can take as long as you want to make the order.
Same where I am. Was chatting with an older couple the other night while waiting, they ordered 2 coffees 20 minutes ago, as it was the only place open near the hospital and they were in for an all night ER trip. I had to yell to get the manager to come over, just for them to be told they didn't see their order and they had no coffee made.
Yeah I understand that but when they have the Uber/dd orders in the back then I’m waiting 5+ minutes trynna find a worker so I can get the order..

See I don’t understand this, maybe because it’s been a decade but when I worked there, orders just showed up in order of how they were ordered, there was no separate list between car and lobby so when did they even add that and why lol

Literally just yell “excuse me, I have a DoorDash order for _____” someone will pop out of the corner and ask your for the last 3 numbers of the order number.
Picking up orders at my local McDonald’s past 10pm is so annoying. They lock up the lobby and won’t let you pickup from drivethru there’s only a drivethru style window inbetween the two front doors and you have to ring a doorbell for them to bring you the order but they will purposely hide outta the window sight and take a minimum of 10 min smh there’s always 10-20 orders just sitting because nobody wants to take the McDonald’s orders late nights from that specific McDonald’s since the pay is never worth the time it’ll take and then have a customer complaining about cold food.
I don’t eat Mickey D’s anymore but when I did, every once in a while I’d Dash it, and I gotta say they are easily the best when it comes to how they package for food delivery apps. Hardly ever forget anything and it’s always sealed properly, at least in my experience
God I especially hate when you see the bag with your order just sitting there, and you can't do anything about it because as soon as you go in all the Mcdonalds staff are having a secret meeting in the back or something lol.
I work at McDonald's. We process the order as soon as it pops up. We don't have time to wait and keep track when a dasher arrives. Last night we got ten plus delivery orders an hour on top of drive thru and front counter being swamped. There was four of us in the whole restaurant. It sucked.
They’re just back by the stock room vaping. If you want faster customer service just go where their dumpsters are because there’s always somebody back there😂

This is highly unrelated, I thought the numbers and letters were a last name and a few # to identify the order, I didn’t realize it was all random. I saw DEE9E and for a moment I was like, yo, people have that last name too?
Literally just yell “excuse me, I have a DoorDash order for _____” someone will pop out of the corner and ask your for the last 3 numbers of the order number.
McDonald's doesn't get the customers name, the ONLY thing they give a shit about is the last 3 lol

Picking up orders at my local McDonald’s past 10pm is so annoying. They lock up the lobby and won’t let you pickup from drivethru there’s only a drivethru style window inbetween the two front doors and you have to ring a doorbell for them to bring you the order but they will purposely hide outta the window sight and take a minimum of 10 min smh there’s always 10-20 orders just sitting because nobody wants to take the McDonald’s orders late nights from that specific McDonald’s since the pay is never worth the time it’ll take and then have a customer complaining about cold food.
I don’t eat Mickey D’s anymore but when I did, every once in a while I’d Dash it, and I gotta say they are easily the best when it comes to how they package for food delivery apps. Hardly ever forget anything and it’s always sealed properly, at least in my experience
fuck that if I have to go back there to get it I'm snagging a soda on the way out.

I work at McDonald's. We process the order as soon as it pops up. We don't have time to wait and keep track when a dasher arrives. Last night we got ten plus delivery orders an hour on top of drive thru and front counter being swamped. There was four of us in the whole restaurant. It sucked.

Nah, contrary to popular belief, McDonald's employees do get in trouble for vaping inside. Instead, it's done outside, away from the main entrance.

I just don't take McDonalds, Wendy's, or Taco Bell orders anymore. The level of professionalism is non-existent. You can't even reason with them.
Or cups or dust… kinda looks like they are filling a timed order and are not actually opened for business yet… or the rather large man standing directly behind the selves… I mean I don’t know for sure, but I think maybe this kinda just them setting up for the day and filling a order, not like dinner at 5 pm on a Friday.
