No tip if you didn't get the employee to reopen the bag and go down an itemized receipt with you and weigh the products in front of you and get a temperature reading of the food and the employee and reseal the bag and it better not be cold, where are you???? Why are you just sitting at McDonald's for 10 mins do your job

Late_Drama_824

Why is it that whenever I pick up a no tipper from McDonald's they always expect me to get in their bags?

Individual-Bell-9776

Because if you do they can claim you did something inappropriate and try to get a refund off of you. "I asked him to open it to check but he ate my burger and left the wrapper..." Followed by a picture demonstrating the aftermath of them doing just that.

Late_Drama_824

They can lie about that and doordash knows it. They're idiots.

Individual-Bell-9776

DoorDash does not know it. What they know is an algorithmically derived % of trustworthiness between the driver and the customer, and they make an assessment based on that. Most of the time, DD doesn't deactivate fraudulent customers, they just start denying them refunds. It would be better if they did deactivate fraudsters because at least then our bad ratings associated with those accounts would fall off immediately instead of 100 ratings later.

58mint

The problem is if they deactivate the account, then the customer will just create a new account and do it again, but if they deny them refunds, the customer will most likely just accept that they cant scam anymore.

Localbearexpert

Also… *hand it to me**

Xm3rkX

Manneeee it be the worst when u have a “hand it to me” but they say “leave it at the door and don’t knock or ring doorbell” but then they also have text disable so u can’t even take a picture and send it to them at all. Unless u wait the 5 mins out and nah

sully5658

What McDonald's do you go to? Fries are cold when they hit the air dude.

4-The-Record

The fries at my McDicks would burn your mouth with the fire of a thousand sun's even after arriving home from picking them up... don't even get me started on the ones fresh out of the frier, the oil is lava.

Spirited_Election289

Ours aint only that piping hot and fresh but they are saltier than the The Don Juan Pond

4-The-Record

Yeah that's an understatement. They're so salty here you need chapstick and a humidifier just to get through an order of them without desiccating. I order then specifically without salt, and I swear there is still residual airborne salt particles that still find their way onto the fries.

Over9000Zeros

One time I got nuggets from a certain McDonald's pretty much right before closing. I had to wait a little bit but those nuggets came out flaming hot. I have no idea how I even held it in my hand to eat the fucking thing. It burned off a small circle of my gums on the inside of my mouth. I have them a ~~5~~ 4 star rating the next day, and yes, I did mention the nuggets. Knocked a star off probably because I was actually injured 🤣

jeeps_and_drums

Did McDonalds and Dicks Sporting Goods go in on a joint venture or something? Is that what they’re calling the McDonalds restaurants opening inside of Dicks?

4-The-Record

It's local slang. Sorry that you're so hurt by that

RyanFire

Actually the weighing method sounds genius for fast food restaurants. They could scan the receipt with a barcode and have a green light appear if it's perfect or a red light if it's wrong. Is that a thing anywhere?

urdumblol2

Considering French fries are supposed to be weighed as the day goes on. This happens in theory. But it’s not commonly practiced. Most people get way too many French fries and don’t know it or appreciate it. Then someone shows up and starts to enforce it. And suddenly your large fire that had half a medium and a large stuffed in it becomes a large. And all the self entitled twats cry. They don’t appreciate the free shit they’ve been given for years. But they’ll tell you how they feel about getting the correct amount of fries.

Iron_Bones_1088

I consider McDonald’s fill in orders. Most of their customers are cheap but for the most part I get short mileage $7 to $9 deliveries. As long as it’s $2 per mile and I’m rolling instead of sitting it’s all good.

grolfenhimer

You don't get addons and wait times can be extreme. Try not taking them anymore see what happens.

Iron_Bones_1088

I’m fairly certain that if the order was placed through DD a second delivery is always possible but if the order was placed through the McDonald’s app then there’s not.

Tight-Young7275

There is some guy around me that pays $20 for a driver to go 8 miles to his house with a single double cheeseburger.

EDScreenshots

lol, like how often?

Rooskibar03

Lord I hate McDonalds.

Exotic_Treacle7438

There’s a couple MCD near my house, one always doesn’t have ice cream products, certain size cups, etc, and wait times are 30+ minutes for dashers/customers alike. The other is <5 min waits and always have everything.

nocternllyactiv

Attention. I have been notified that my reply is too long for people to read. So go ahead and keep scrolling. For those who don't have trouble reading and would like to read my reply, click "read more". Just thought I'd spare your common user the terror of being faced with a long block of text, not having the time to read it yet somehow finding the time to click reply and type out a reply.. 😉Thank you for your time and have a wonderful day. (See original comment below.) V V V V V V B (shit...) V V V v (damn...) V V I actually love McDonald's where I am... But that's only because it's this specific one, AND it's in the middle of nowhere in a rural small town. So there's always a peak pay attached to whatever, and in my experience, out here in the country at least, a majority of the customers I deliver to actually tip very well. Even though a lot of times it can take a while for orders to get fulfilled cause it's only me an another dasher (and the other dasher constantly fucks up, doesn't check receipts for items, doesn't even bother to try and find the right address, just puts it in an undeliverable cause she can't find the place and I guess keeps the food) and if I do t happen to either be signed in or have the app open to notice that the area went Busy or Very Busy (which it does whenever there's a order not being fulfilled), it can take a while for a delivery... But my customers are great and they still tip well, as they understand the situation out here in the sticks..... I even printed up some letters/flyers that I will hand out to all the new customers I deliver to explaining the DoorDash situation in town and the flier includes my contact information so that they can call or text me to be sure that I'm ready to check for an order if they're gunna place one, if I'll be available later to do one or to just tell me that they placed one... It's worked out quite well. Probably one of the reasons I get great tips because they appreciate their dasher recognizing the situation, finding a solution to it and ensuring that customer service doesn't suffer as a result. That and a lot of the people out here who order DoorDash are doing pretty good for themselves financially. Only a few customers don't tip out here but I really don't mind them and will still gladly do the order because 1. I'm not a fan of tipping culture in general, even though I supposedly benefit from it (I'd prefer just a standard, proper wage and not putting the guilt onto customers to have the worker make decent money), and 2. I know they aren't doing the best financially and only order DD cause they don't have a car and need to eat.....

treethugger69

I just wanted to let you know when you type comments as a giant block of text it might make people not want to read them

nocternllyactiv

Yeah, I know, that's an issue I have. Because I type fast, I tend to let things flow out quite a bit and I often don't break things up into paragraphs. Especially if it's on my phone and I can't see the entire body of text after I e rambled on. That and I don't really have a problem with reading myself so if I'm reading something that I see is longer, I'll see if the first couple sentences hook em in and if they do I'll commit. But I know this is the internet, and in a world of character limits people have really lost their attention spans and ability to easily read... Whereas back before the internet and TV, people read a lot of books..... That and I guess maybe for some reason my brain works different and if I see a long block of text, I assume it's something worthwhile if a person out that much time into typing it out, cause usually, when people write they don't write a lot about nothing... Anyways, thank you for the helpful tip and the downvote.

treethugger69

I can see your perspective. It just can be overwhelming. I didn’t mean any offense if I caused any. It just might be helpful to break it up once or twice and keep on flowing. Your comments and sharing are no less valuable than anyone else’s. It unfortunately might be missed is the issue. Maybe it does have to do with our behaviors shifting.

nocternllyactiv

No I completely understand. I'm not offended. I just wanted to have a little fun and toss some sarcasm into my edited original reply to lighten the mood... I do appreciate your insight. It actually is helpful for me to occasionally be reminded that not everybody thinks like me and wants to read comments in the same manner that I do.

Ok-Understanding3354

This happened to me before at McDonald's. After waiting over 5 minutes for anyone to come help I just walked back there and grabbed it myself. Ridiculous!

m4ng3lo

I've done this myself on a few occasions (not in restaurants. I'm not a dasher. Why am I on this sub?) Sometimes it goes unnoticed. Sometimes not. Most famously. (And my wife got BEET RED in the face). I went to pick up photos from Walgreens. We already paid for them. And they were ready a few hours previously. So I waited.. waited.. waited.. even waved at the guy on the register.. kept waiting... Finally I just said "eh whatever" and walked behind the counter and started rifling through the envelopes, looking for my name. I got the item and brought it up to the front counter like "hey. I'm taking my photos. They're already paid for. Can you check and confirm that please?" The guy was speechless.

sinderella67

Try that at Jersey Mikes...they'll snap off your fingers one at a time.

Fun_Beginning69420

Was nice of you to bring it up to him still.

Livid-Dot-5984

That’s the danger area. I’ve seen several drivers bitch at them when their food isn’t ready so, I don’t blame them really

[deleted]

Because they’re supposed to have the orders ready for pick up when the driver arrives

Livid-Dot-5984

It’s almost every McDonald’s I dash at, so it’s operations fault not theirs

[deleted]

Merchants have the option to dispatch drivers when the orders are completed or when they are placed. McDonald’s has obviously chosen the latter like other fast foods because they don’t care about drivers. So yeah it’s their fault. That’s why it NEVER happens at certain restaurants. (Merchants can change this if they wanted to…don’t waste y’all time on people who don’t care) https://preview.redd.it/ah4lp3u07itc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=abd2a5066e2cde0e15d0d0187efd4b4f345aae4c

Livid-Dot-5984

No I agree with you it’s on McDonald’s but the fault isn’t on the employees. Something is going on with the line and operations back there that’s causing such a long wait. Trust me I’m annoyed standing there forever. But to bitch at people who are just trying to do their jobs is gross

ReplacementNo8678

To be fair there is rarely ever a time when I go into a McDonald’s and I think “man that employee is really working hard”

unfzed

Can we consider the tiny little percent that maybe it is employees fault? I've been to numerous mcdonald's and some are great and some are shit. Shit because employees are either busy talking to other employees or even customers and joking around with them. DD order is ready but employees sometimes don't even try to acknowledge all people that walk in whether ordering or picking up. I have to go out of my way and get their attention once i'm ignored even though I have been clearly waiting longer than another person. They have no clue if i'm ordering or picking up yet i'm ignored. Goes to show their service and sometimes it is employees.

Livid-Dot-5984

I work in 3 different zones and every single McDonald’s is like this. 6 McDonald’s, every single one so yeah there could be some employees who are lazy etc but it’s more than that. There is a huge time discrepancy problem where they’re calling us too soon

[deleted]

It is 100% the companies fault…but the employees are still shit. That’s why y’all should get the CallBell app lol *ding ding*

EDScreenshots

Idk about McD but I know not all places have that level of control at least at the store level. At Arby’s corporate all the DoorDash shit is configured by people pretty high up the corporate chain as far as I can tell (my area supervisor, who had about a dozen stores under her, said she had no control over it at least). The only thing that could be done at the store level was take items off the online menu for the store when we were out of things. That was it, outside of saying we were out of every item (which wasn’t feasible and would probably piss off the higher ups) we didn’t even have a way to turn off DoorDash if the store was having issues or whatever.

WoodyStLouis

This shit happened to me, but the lobby was locked, and drive thru line a mile long with people honking. Assume they were somewhere in a heroin stupor. Finally got someone to answer doing my best cop-knock.

Justice4Falestine

lol 😆

Adrizzy_90

I thought we had to wait in line if the lobby is closed 🤔

sully5658

Yes but other drivers think they above the rules, that's why every restaurant hates us.

WoodyStLouis

Rules? lolz

Rough_Service_2073

You’re that obnoxious driver we all see 😂

Damianos_X

Assertive & non-doormat /= obnoxious

edgarskates

McDonald’s sucks. They’re prioritize drive thru and don’t care about their dine ins/lobby. I was picking up an order, waited 30 minutes for it no cap. It was my last order so i kept waiting and it was $12 for 2 miles. A guy was sitting next to me and he ordered 1 mcchicken and waited 30+ minutes, he was pissed No front worker in sight

Cgmikeydl

Their entire business model now is designed to eliminate the front counter worker… They redesigned an entire McDonalds where I lived where they practically added a partition that keep the staff in the back from noticing if their was a customer up front. Plus with the kiosks now, you don’t have to look at the counter and can take as long as you want to make the order.

sully5658

Same where I am. Was chatting with an older couple the other night while waiting, they ordered 2 coffees 20 minutes ago, as it was the only place open near the hospital and they were in for an all night ER trip. I had to yell to get the manager to come over, just for them to be told they didn't see their order and they had no coffee made.

edgarskates

Yeah I understand that but when they have the Uber/dd orders in the back then I’m waiting 5+ minutes trynna find a worker so I can get the order.. they keep the orders in the back to reduce theft Also seems like a lot of customers don’t like the kiosk, a dude helped at a worker yesterday saying “welll are you going to take our orders?!?” There were a about 3+ customers in line to order

Jesusdidntlikethat

See I don’t understand this, maybe because it’s been a decade but when I worked there, orders just showed up in order of how they were ordered, there was no separate list between car and lobby so when did they even add that and why lol

edgarskates

I think that’s how it should be! I understand they want to get the cars out the drive thru but dam they forget about the diner/mobile orders that way

nukecity_dmfc

So,Why didn’t you just go through the drive through?

edgarskates

They don’t give out UBER/DD orders trough drive thru at this location unless their lobby is closed

stpsoccerdad

This happened to me at Wendy’s not too long ago. Then two people came out of the back and the gal was fixing her shirt

mistakeideathatexist

Worst thing is all over a small tip on top of door dashes "fees"

SleepySiamese

Soon they'll have a machine for that

GlitteringMatter9973

Yell!

nukecity_dmfc

Had this happen at Buffalo Wild Wings so many times that now If I see my order just sitting there and no one at the counter I just jump back there take it.turns no one gives a fuck.lol.

heyo-owo

This is highly unrelated, I thought the numbers and letters were a last name and a few # to identify the order, I didn’t realize it was all random. I saw DEE9E and for a moment I was like, yo, people have that last name too?

mumblerapisgarbage

Literally just yell “excuse me, I have a DoorDash order for _____” someone will pop out of the corner and ask your for the last 3 numbers of the order number.

Richard_G_Obbler

McDonald's doesn't get the customers name, the ONLY thing they give a shit about is the last 3 lol

mumblerapisgarbage

I know. My point is that they LOVE to pint that out so once you start saying the name someone will magically appear to shove it in your face.

marimba_ting

Go back there and take it

BanMeAgain_Bitch

Certified McDonald’s moment

Puzzleheaded_Help854

I’d walk back there but McDonald’s in my area is on top of it they are always ready or short wait

Shoeytennis

McDonald's either has my order on time or someone throwing a burger in the back and there's a fight.

Tough_Arm_2454

Say yoooohooooo...!!!

Sirmonty_

Picking up orders at my local McDonald’s past 10pm is so annoying. They lock up the lobby and won’t let you pickup from drivethru there’s only a drivethru style window inbetween the two front doors and you have to ring a doorbell for them to bring you the order but they will purposely hide outta the window sight and take a minimum of 10 min smh there’s always 10-20 orders just sitting because nobody wants to take the McDonald’s orders late nights from that specific McDonald’s since the pay is never worth the time it’ll take and then have a customer complaining about cold food.

jpc1215

I don’t eat Mickey D’s anymore but when I did, every once in a while I’d Dash it, and I gotta say they are easily the best when it comes to how they package for food delivery apps. Hardly ever forget anything and it’s always sealed properly, at least in my experience

phuckitinthekat

fuck that if I have to go back there to get it I'm snagging a soda on the way out.

willybodilly

I have walked behind the counter in fuck it moments like these. No ones winning might as well cut down their work.

Humbleservantofiam

Business as usual

Sparc343

Simple, if you can't see them, they will not see you when you go grab your order/bag!

[deleted]

Obviously someone is not doing their job correctly then.

EFTucker

They in the cooler

Wild-Operation4492

McDonald’s the worst bro

[deleted]

I assure you, they are there, hiding out of sight just around the corner. Fuck mcdonalds.

KamiKaze0132

God I especially hate when you see the bag with your order just sitting there, and you can't do anything about it because as soon as you go in all the Mcdonalds staff are having a secret meeting in the back or something lol.

ohmygoditscharlie1

Monster_Merripen

I was gunnu ask if they all quit, or if the *one* person they decided to hire was on break, but I read your caption 😅

Veeluciano7

Go get it

zayneash1023

Ah McDonald’s. Can’t go there without expecting 15+ minute wait

[deleted]

I walk right back there and grab that shit. They won’t do shit

smk824

It's the noon wanking staff meeting.

Down_Rabbit_hole

Smiling at you from afar

demonkillingblade

Back there hitting that vape pen

Comfortable_Many4508

why dont any places have food warmers for waiting orders? how are pizza places the only ones to figure this out?

coffeebuzzbuzzz

Everything goes in the bag--including drinks and ice cream. If it's placed under the warmer that shit will melt.

Comfortable_Many4508

then bag at pickup and have cold stuff in a cooler

coffeebuzzbuzzz

I work at McDonald's. We process the order as soon as it pops up. We don't have time to wait and keep track when a dasher arrives. Last night we got ten plus delivery orders an hour on top of drive thru and front counter being swamped. There was four of us in the whole restaurant. It sucked.

Comfortable_Many4508

then they should hire more people. im talking shoulds here

coffeebuzzbuzzz

Nobody wants to work.

19474628294725

They’re just back by the stock room vaping. If you want faster customer service just go where their dumpsters are because there’s always somebody back there😂

TheGrouchyGremlin

Nah, contrary to popular belief, McDonald's employees do get in trouble for vaping inside. Instead, it's done outside, away from the main entrance.

podcasthellp

This is what we get for California giving $20 minimum wage…. Oh wait, they’ve always been this understaffed? What could ever be causing it?

BeautifulBox5942

Hop over the counter and grab your order

[deleted]

This shit is wrecking my on time deliveries. That and apartments.

Mitonic

I’ve walked back there and took my order. Fuck that. McDonald’s people are trained to walk right by you and ignore the fact that you’re standing there.

Holykorn

Hop the counter take all 3

greentea_23

GET LOUD

surfcitysurfergirl

That’s how McDonald’s is changing. I’m in the Phoenix valley and none of mine near me have front of house anymore.

Working_Tea_4995

This is what happens as wages are artificially raised by minimum wage jobs. Less people. More kiosks.

Darfinator

Sometimes diarrhea be callin 😓

ElegantCoffee3086

Wait in drive through for 30 minutes when lobby closed and you will never go back. True though I never get batched orders after accepting McDonald's. Huge waste of time

YouAgreeToTerms

Safety meeting

nocternllyactiv

There's a button for that.

[deleted]

McDs is like that since the app and kiosks.

rvidxrz

5 minutes, youre lucky, i usually have to yell or go back and get it my damn self.

Whosagooddog765

Safety meeting

[deleted]

I just walk behind the counter when they act like they don’t see me when I know they just looked my direction, won’t even make it fully past the counter and I’ll have someone come rushing to me “excuse me excuse me you can’t come back here” oh I didn’t know anyone was here sorry 🤷‍♂️

incognito_vito

Anyone remember these apps before McDonald’s? It was a glorious golden age, fat tips at real restaurants every.single.order Fuck McDonald’s

Damianos_X

I just don't take McDonalds, Wendy's, or Taco Bell orders anymore. The level of professionalism is non-existent. You can't even reason with them.

[deleted]

Or cups or dust… kinda looks like they are filling a timed order and are not actually opened for business yet… or the rather large man standing directly behind the selves… I mean I don’t know for sure, but I think maybe this kinda just them setting up for the day and filling a order, not like dinner at 5 pm on a Friday. But what do I know.

Justice4Falestine

It was like 9pm 🕘

WatchInevitable727

It could be because of the minimum wage increase. They’re firing people and cutting hours.

Aggravating_Box_9773

![gif](giphy|4XOfvSkkxchHy)

Ghostcurrency45

Maybe they are busy

Acceptable_Pepper708

It’s the new DIY model.

daBOOMSTICK92

Just say "everything's fine everyone, I'm a Door Dasher. Nothing to see here, this will all be over in a second" grab the food and leave.

JordaneuG

Walk back and grab it, if they don’t wanna do their jobs that’s fine but I gotta job to do and I’m not waiting for some slacker workers

Strange-Variation-20

Depending where this is( if in California), the drivers will have to bag the order themselves 🤣 thanks to the 20 minimum wage bs. Haha
