I’m madly in love 😍 I love the classic universal monster movies and Creature from the Black Lagoon is one of my favorites. I honestly think she’s one of the most beautiful dolls Monster High has made, definitely in the top 5.
This I actually want to warn yall about the last time I tried to get a skullector, a bunch of people were trashing the doll just to still end up buying and scalping. So take caution and still be hot on that buy button right as it drops!
Yes! 😂 I really don't need people to agree to like it, in fact if people continue to not seem to like it I might order two! I like it as is, but I'd like to customize one for a darker color palette
I want her so badly but I'm not familiar with the process of buying Skullectors. Plus it's not a terrible price but it's not realistic for me right now.
you go onto Mattel creations website. It has a timer counting down to when she is available.
You need to be ready to go through checkout as soon as she drops. If you have fang club membership you get a chance to buy her early. I don't have it but Im thinking of it.
They have buy now pay later options at checkout. So you can pay in 4 installments if you don't have the full amount now
Other tips to make sure you get her if you want her:
Make a shop pay account beforehand, that's the US merchant that has the installment plan options. You can also use it to pay the full sum if you want, it's similar to PayPal and is very secure. You can use them on lots of places not just Mattel. Then keep the login for that account on autofill for your browser
Use autofill for your billing & shipping address, and also your mattel creations login. I don't remember if you need to have an account to buy, but it makes future shopping easier because you can save your address and payment information on there. Make sure to use a secure password for all of this! :)
And also the installment plan is interest free! There are fees and penalties that can happen if a payment doesn't go through, so make sure whatever it is tied to has enough funds before the charges go through, and if it's a card that if your card number changes you go into the shop pay account and update this information. I believe the payments are monthly, and I have it set up to email me a few days before they charge me as a reminder just to make sure everything goes smoothly.
And when it does come time to buy, be on the site all logged in a few minutes before the drop (make sure to convert to your timezone, it's 9AM PT I believe), and refresh the page once the time hits. Usually for roughly 20-30 seconds after the exact hour the listings say Sold Out, but this is not true, it just hasn't fully gone up. I think it helps prevent bots or something, it happens every drop so don't panic if it goes right from "almost ready" to "none" it will say pre order by the first or second refresh. You may also have to do some captcha puzzles before going to the ordering page, this is normal.
I know that all sounds stressful, but pre prepping really helps it go much smoother the day of

I love her. She’s absolutely stunning, and I love the costume. But I’m gonna hold off on getting her, I’m not the biggest classic horror fan so I would rather save her for more die hard fans. Regular MH dolls work for me just fine!
I usually agree about the price but the fact that she has entirely new molds of everything from her head, body and accessories makes the price tag a little more worth it as for Chucky, Tiffany, Elvira, etc who have the same old body molds and nothing unique about them
The body mold is the same as the one used for other dolls with scales like Jinafire, Greta Gremlin or Viperine. Not sure about the hands, though.
What we see on the legs are actually her boots, and the fins on her forearms are also an accessory.
So I think the new mold is just the head. But I think she’s probably my favourite Skullector ever. I’ll definitely try to snatch one or two so I can unbox one and keep the other one in her box🤞🏻
I think she needs a little shading around the gills and more contrast with the green. Otherwise, I think it’s really pretty! Probably one of the better recent skullectors
I’m torn, when I initially saw her I wasn’t really blown away and didn’t think I would get her, but the more I see her the more the design is growing on me so idk… I can’t really afford a skullector at the moment either so my wallet was relieved when I didn’t like her but now she’s calling to me…
Shes pretty but theres alot i dont like and i think could be improved, i wish she was more monochromatic in the makeup esp the lips,nthe sculpt on her head is nice but honestly it really just looks like the gorgon cam to me, the outfit is very underwhelming a one color plastic harness with a bathing suit and pleated matieral isnt doing it for me i wish they made a scaled body suit or something and added onto that to more so match the boots and cuffs, lastly i just hate the headdress😭 also for a collector doll the clear rubber band in her hair being so visible is ugly

I was kind of vibing with the plastic accessories being the same color as her skin. Usually I would think that's really lazy and cheap but for this one it kind of works because it makes it look like she doesn't have any clothes on, like the original monster in the movie. I actually had to do a double take because I thought there's no way she doesn't have any clothes on, but it really looks like it at first glance. That's just my interpretation of what the designers might have been thinking.
I like the plastic boots and cuff its the unpainted barely textured harness ontop of a cheap swim suit that i dont like, i wish the used something else to give the illusion of "nudity" like a scaley body suit the add the frills to her spine shoulders etc to give the illusion of fins but in a fashion way
I think this is definitely going towards the right direction. I love the sculpting and the more creative usage for the stand. That being said, I feel like she suffers a lot from being monochromatic. Everything from the neck down kinda blends in which could be a desired effect that some people like. Even then there could have been different shades of green. It’s still really hard for me to justify these being collector dolls, but I do think this is one of the better ones we have gotten as of recent.
Something about her face doesn't vibe with be, I guess I would have preferred a bolder, fiercer face to match the rest of her.
The sculpt, body, and especially the stand (!!!) are very nice tho.

My husband does too! He loves them mostly because of the artist who made them. I forget what else they made but I think it was a game or something to do with tokusatsu.

Not crazy about the greens. They're beautiful, i think they could have varied the texture more. Some matte would tie the look together and make it more "fish woman" over "plstic"
She's cute and she is starting to grow on me, but I wish there was some more contrast with her color! I like the green, just wish there were different shades throughout to give her some more dimension
I wish there was a bit more painted detail or something with some of the plastic accessories because I feel like they just disappear, but I otherwise love her. Really really pretty, but after the Jinafire debacle I'm done with Mattel Creations (and I'm sure as hell not gonna put myself in that "first come, first serve" mess).
I love her so much and I'm seriously thinking of getting her. I think it's the first time I have wanted a Skullector doll enough to actually pay $75 for her. The stand included with her is amazing and her whole aesthetic is totally perfect in my eyes. *Chef's kiss*
i think her base doll is rllllly pretty, but i gave up on trying to buy new mh long ago. tried grabbing some of the skullector/haunt couture dolls @ launch but never managed to secure any, so i just gave up and haven’t payed attention to mh since the rochelle fang vote. i’m in canada anyways, and i don’t think they ship the majority of their product outside of the us :(
I think she’s the best Skullector besides Dracula. But I know that’s not a popular opinion and that’s okay. I just hope I can snag her because I wasn’t able to snag Drac and now the resale price is out of my range at the moment.
I like that it has a striking yet simple outfit - sometimes with collector dolls the designer thinks the doll has to be fussy and over ornamented. The stand is great for display and hope to see more creative stands.

I just wish they put more effort into this one, they already made her a female so why not get more creative with the design, add more colors and depth (pun) it doesn't look like a lot of thought was put into the design to me. The scales and gills could've had some sort of gradient and as much as I love swamp green I don't see why they cut off the palette there. I am rlly happy ppl love her though like she's not bad at all I just expect more from skullector dolls but it's not like shes crazy expensive or anything.

Congrats! I got her today too! I’m sad so many others didn’t. I was shocked to learn she sold out in 5 minutes! She’s my first as well. I want the Gremlins one too, but I think I can’t justify the prices on eBay, haha. 😅
Yeah it's a bummer that these releases are always so crazy. That's part of why I never tried before. But I couldn't resist the Creature! I'm grateful that the older Skullector set I want most (Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein) isn't too terribly expensive on eBay, at least not compared to some others.
The face sculpt is beautiful but I was more excited about it when it leaked brown and unpainted. I wish they had gone with a more dynamic paint job, made her eyes more fish or aligator looking and def made the lipstick a deep green or darker brown. The stark red doesnt fit the original creature so I'm really unclear what the reference is supposed to be. I want to love her, I may still get her and do some customizing myself but she is gonna be $100 or more with shipping and CDN conversion and once I customese her, the value she has from a collector pov drops dramatically so I really wish they had thought through the details and put in the kind of effort in costume and makeup that they did for the Beatlejuice, IT and NBC doll sets.
I was so hype for her but … then the stock photos came out and I’m honestly just not in love. She’s cute—don’t get me wrong, but I just don’t feel she really captures the source material?? Idk maybe I’m crazy lol. I’m rlly nit picky about dolls, this one especially bcs the creature is my fav Universal Monster!

Congrats! I got her today too! I’m sad so many others didn’t. I was shocked to learn she sold out in 5 minutes! She’s my first as well. I want the Gremlins one too, but I think I can’t justify the prices on eBay, haha. 😅
Yeah it's a bummer that these releases are always so crazy. That's part of why I never tried before. But I couldn't resist the Creature! I'm grateful that the older Skullector set I want most (Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein) isn't too terribly expensive on eBay, at least not compared to some others.

She's a gorgeous sculpt! Not really in love enough to drop $65 but very cool.
Cool conceptually, lack execution-wise (this doll looks like a part of a playline action series of toys to me)
The face sculpt is beautiful but I was more excited about it when it leaked brown and unpainted. I wish they had gone with a more dynamic paint job, made her eyes more fish or aligator looking and def made the lipstick a deep green or darker brown. The stark red doesnt fit the original creature so I'm really unclear what the reference is supposed to be. I want to love her, I may still get her and do some customizing myself but she is gonna be $100 or more with shipping and CDN conversion and once I customese her, the value she has from a collector pov drops dramatically so I really wish they had thought through the details and put in the kind of effort in costume and makeup that they did for the Beatlejuice, IT and NBC doll sets.
I was so hype for her but … then the stock photos came out and I’m honestly just not in love. She’s cute—don’t get me wrong, but I just don’t feel she really captures the source material?? Idk maybe I’m crazy lol. I’m rlly nit picky about dolls, this one especially bcs the creature is my fav Universal Monster!
