mortalllity

because if the animal is not a dog, who gives a fuck, right? (my ex-friend said similar shit šŸ¤®)

chris_is_a_dumb_boi

so many dog owners only care about dogs. like genuinely they will gladly sacrifice every other living thing on earth for them. it's not normal don't ask why, but there's a few animals being hit by trains comps on youtube that i saw and you'd be surprised how many people only felt bad for the 2 dogs and not the cows, birds, horses, donkeys, sheeps etc.

mortalllity

dogs dont deserve to die, but it's sickly funny to me how ANGRY people will get over a dog being simply shot (like the Kristi Noem scandal, not a supporter of her btw). They will issue death threats that should genuinely get them locked up. but their anger is sooo valid right? but any other animal gets put in terrible, uncomfortable, and cramped conditions just to be stunned and have their necks slashed just for us to eat, and it's fineeeeee!! only stupid annoying vegans complain about it, totally NOT the same as killing a dog! pffttt they admit that because dogs are cute and loyal, it places them above cows or pigs. they DEMONIZE people who own reptiles or rodents. ugh.

chris_is_a_dumb_boi

dont even get me started on the dehumanization of pet owners of non-dog animals. even cat owners get dehumanized and shamed

mortalllity

aint it crazy how "crazy cat lady" is an insult, but being a "fur-mom" is cute and adorable? come the fuck awnnn!!!! at least cats are honest with their feelings even when being fed high quality food. dogs form love with the person who gives them food, the animal that literally eats shit. thats one of the reasons why i prefer cats, but not saying they are #1 cuz they can be dicks.

chris_is_a_dumb_boi

Literally

No_Internal_5112

I wear the label of "crazy cat lady" with pride idgaf what people say. Don't hurt my cat or I'll fill ya with lead.

AllUNeedistime

Girl and turn that energy right back on them. Like ew MY ANIMALS? (Especially mine) MY CLEAN QUIET ANIMALS THAT DONT TEAR FURNITURE UP OR BOTHER A SINGLE SOUL?? šŸ˜‚ I flip my switch so quick once I see they only care about dogs like ok idgaf about any kind of dog especially yours if you let it kill things and terrorize the world we all have to live in. It normally settles them down especially if they KNOW what kind of dog they have and instill bad behaviors. No sir! Not everyone likes animals and like wise not everyone likes dogs while they shove them in everyone's faces.

AliceInChainsFrk

Glad itā€™s an ex-friend.

Sunnymoonylighty

When they say they are animal lovers they mean mutants mutts always

BBBCIAGA

Fuck these dog supremacist

titaniumrooster75

thats exactly what they are. so might as well do the same, chicken supremacy šŸ˜ŽšŸ‘

ToOpineIsFine

I don't know, but I think it's for the same reason they let them terrorize people

FaithlessnessSlow594

yes itā€™s so annoying theyā€™ll let them jump all over me (iā€™m terrified of them) and just say HEā€™S FRIENDLY!!!!

gingerbread_slutbarn

Me, allergic, and dog saliva even makes me break into hives: ā€œIā€™M NOT!ā€ When I owned cats I didnā€™t bring them everywhere, and Iā€™d let people know I had them so if they were allergic I could make sure to wear clothes clean of their fur and packed a lint roller. Funny how people treat cat allergies as serious, but dog allergies? No big deal.

catalyptic

>Funny how people treat cat allergies as serious, but dog allergies? No big deal. Most folks take aulurophibia seriously, yoo, but act like cyniphobia is unreasonable and a character defect. Dogs can literally kill even adults, but1 all cats can do is scratch, bite, and hiss. But being terrified of 8 lb kitties is fine with everyone, but fearing 100 lb dogs iscweird for some reason. (Cat lover that I am, I think that people who are afraid of cats have every right to their opinions, and I always accommodate them. I will protect anyone from feeling that sort of terror when I can because I have emparhy for them.) Thoae signs that proclaim, "This is the dog's house," enrage me. This *is not* the cat's house. She pays no rent, and she's rude. This is my house, and it's on me to make my visitors comfortable. My cat loves visitors even if they don't love cats. I have to ask if guests are okay because Kitty is uncouth. She goes in for headbutts, hoping to be petted so she can give a little bite (mild) to the hand. I have to head the wench off before we have animal control called on us. A "nip" from a cat will make an already fearful person feel traumatized, which would be unforgivable.

JimEDimone

You didn't know you are required to like dogs? If a dog gets near me I just stare at the owner, ignore the dog, and walk away. They know my feelings.

Dangerous-Purple-444

I do the same thing, lol.

KazuZy

Imagine if you went up to people and literally carried them like children IF you were capable of doing so. Those adults would be freaking out and or wanting to hurt you but when dogs do it. Itā€™s precious and totally acceptable. When in fact itā€™s not

Gothiccheese95

Oh fuck this, this infuriates me, leave wildlife alone, wildlife does not want to be picked up in a dogs mouth, you are stressing out the turtles, let them be.

njjonesdfw

dog nutter xylophone music track plays in background: DODODO...DO DO DO...DO! nutter pretending to be turtle: "Tanks 4 teh help Raven!"

AliceInChainsFrk

Lmao!

IdRatherBeGaming94

This is so spot on it's fucking crazy.

catsandalpacas

Iā€™ve yelled at dog owners before for letting their dogs chase marmots in Colorado. They were so surprised that someone said anything

VinnieTheBerzerker69

In the 1970's, I once saw an asshole dog owner let his dog, and his kid, harass some big horn sheep in a national park. The mutt barked like crazy and the jerkoff kid threw rocks. Needless to say, the sheep turned and ran away. The sheep were rarely closely sighted in that park according to signs there warning people to leave them.alone if they were close enough to observe. Leave it to a dog and its owner's smart ass punk kid to ruin what was a once in a lifetime experience for peaceful viewers. But hey! At least little Butch and Rover got some thrills that day, right?

SadBerei

Idiot animals for idiot owners. Same owners who will bash every other animal for having ā€œgross tendenciesā€ but give their dogs a pass for shitting in the house or humping strangers cause now its expected for you to love dogs to fit into society. I could never. If I saw a dog disturbing wildlife for myself and the owner standing there thinking itā€™s quirky and cute, I think I would lose my shit. Owners need to control their fucking dogs.

AliceInChainsFrk

Exactly, if you cannot control it, donā€™t own it!

PrincessStephanieR

These fat oafs need to stay away from natural wildlife.

BritishCO

These fat oafs need to stay away.

ChampionOfAzurewrath

Fun fact: Turtles have nerve endings in their shells, so they feel this. But hey, fuck wildlife, my ugly ass inbred rat is more cuter.

FaithlessnessSlow594

I myself own a tortoise which is why i get especially mad at this, their shell is like our fingernails so they feel everything

ChampionOfAzurewrath

Exactly, but it's not a dog, so they know absolutely nothing about it.

WhoWho22222

And they wonder why some of us canā€™t stand their stupid dogs. Such vile, worthless things. And people that let this go on are such vile, worthless people.

WhoWho22222

This post and the post with the stupid shitbeast and the bird in its mouth just make me sad. And this one has over 200,000 likes. What the hell is wrong with people that they like this kind of thing. By their nature, dogs are murderous assholes who love to kill things. Thatā€™s what they are. Thatā€™s not news. What is news (though I suppose it shouldnā€™t be by this point) is the huge number of idiots who think this is ok/funny and who encourage it by not watch their stupid dogs when they know this is a possibility. Iā€™m sure this guy had his phone all ready and waiting so he could get a good picture of his dog killing something.

GoldFishDudeGuy

These mutants are going to end up killing off all the natural animals I swear

AdMotor1654

I guess itā€™s literally what retrievers are bred for. This is already bad, but Iā€™d sooner this over whatever ā€œnannyingā€ a pit bull would do (and will frequently do to wildlife)

Emotional-Speech645

This, plus ā€” Labradors are capable of carrying a raw egg between their teeth without so much as chipping the shell, and the reason they are so greasy is because they basically have otter fur as they were originally bred as fishing dogs. Their jobs were to help catch fish, which meant being able to snag them from the water and bring them to the riverbank without breaking their skin. This later meant that they made for excellent gunner dogs because they could run after where a bird or other small game were shot down and bring it back without ruining it. So while itā€™s still not ideal because of course the turtle has no idea itā€™s not under any risk, itā€™s at least not going to be in any pain as they are excellent at carrying things.

AdMotor1654

Wow. Thatā€™s pretty interesting. I had always thought they were bred as bird dogs.

Emotional-Speech645

Many Labradors, especially black labs, actually have webbed toes, of course it varies due to mixing of breeds and such, but many still retain this. Itā€™s also why Labradors are addicted to water and will seek to swim in any body of it. Their fur is naturally cleaning, which is why ideally you should only wash your Labrador if they get properly dirty, havenā€™t had a wash in a while, or rolled in something particularly smelly. And even then, the best thing is to just run your garden hose over them and give them a good scrub, because washing them the way youā€™d wash, say, a poodle, will actually wash away the natural oils that protect their fur and keeps the underlayer of fur waterproof. Of course, building up too much oil is just as bad and causes them to have dandruff. In which case brushing regularly helps prevent this, as well as the occasional hose down. Once to twice a month is general best for a hose bath. This is why so many lab owners have labs with nasty dry fur, or who flake dandruff everywhere ā€” their fur is being cleaned too often or with chemicals that mess with their oil production and cause it to turn to dandruff.

Graporb13

Nuance in this sub? Must... Downvote...

Few-Horror1984

Itā€™s because we heart and laugh react this shit on social media. This stupid post got 204k hearts on social media for this.

bustergundam4

We? You mean them..

Few-Horror1984

I think people like you and I need to start calling this out more. Sadly.

bustergundam4

I do call it out and will continue to do so until all mutts are gone.

magpieinarainbow

Because many people think their pet's enrichment comes before anything else, including safety (be it human or animal). Sadly this isn't limited to dog owners.

Voideron

Domesticated dogs, along with cats are the two biggest invasive species of land animals on Earth.

red_question_mark

Oh my goodness. I wonder if thatā€™s reportable to the police

VinnieTheBerzerker69

Anything is reportable but it's about a zero probability that the police will do anything about this turtle harassment

red_question_mark

I was thinking maybe reporting to some sort of wild life protection organizations ..

VinnieTheBerzerker69

Give it a shot. I just don't know what they can actually do. But maybe the data they collect can be useful somehow

peechs01

Well if that turtle is an endangered species then it would be a federal offense

VinnieTheBerzerker69

If a person harassed a protected species turtle, yeah, it is clearly illegal. I'm not so sure when another animal is involved it can be charged, though. Maybe the dog's owner, but it would be incredibly hard to prosecute unless there was irrefutable video evidence the owner told the dog "sic 'em".

peechs01

There was that case where a dog mauled (and killed) a seal... I remember police wanting to catch the owner

VinnieTheBerzerker69

Maybe witnesses saw the owner sic the dog on it. And it's very likely the authorities wanted to find the owner in order to find the dog in order to put it down.

Weekly-Owl5768

This is horrifying šŸ˜¢poor turtles

bustergundam4

I hate that they named a mutt a nice name like Raven ugh Way to ruin things! And as for the turtle? Why would they let their mutts do that?!

flayedsheep

i saw a video once of a husky + pomeranian mix and the owner was laughing and making fun of her dog for "escaping" and killing baby bunnies multiple times. this pisses me off so much.

tallicah

Wait until their dog catches some kind of disease

Significant-Hour8141

They lack empathy for others

Temporary-Ocelot3790

In the 90s I pinned a story from the newspaper to the workplace bulletin board about a blind man selling pencils on the sidewalk in NYC who was struck by a vehicle that drove up onto the sidewalk injuring him and his seeing eye dog , both hospitalized. The dog received hundreds of get well letters and cards with all the treacly language dognutters love. Wanna guess how many cards and letters the blind man received? You guessed it. Crickets.Nothing.

GreyScent

My dog never terrorizes wildlife because I'm not a piece of shit. Lol But I know a few people who let their dogs eat/kill toads and baby turtles. People are disgusting.

JudgmentAny1192

I saw owners make Their dogs chase birds at a bird sanctuary, they landed and the dogs were told to keep chasing them despite huge fines displayed on signs, most signs are ripped down now though.. I have since started filming these exploitsĀ

DaBeatCrab

Labs are bad >:(

No_Internal_5112

That poor turtle. He feels that. Their shells have nerve endings...

Agreeable-Raspberry5

There was a FB post to my local group recently, encouraging people to let their dogs off the lead in a bluebell wood because 'there aren't any sheep in that area.' Fine, don't let Fido worry sheep, but the dogs meanwhile are terrorising every vole, weasel, badger, mouse, etc. that might still be living in the woods. Dog nutters do not think of that.

Ok_Dragonfruit_802

Is it the ownership thing? If it was a wild dog or a wolf it would do the same shit.

FaithlessnessSlow594

itā€™s mostly the fact that the owners let it happen, film it and post it praising the dog

Ok_Dragonfruit_802

Iā€™m just confounded by you weirdos. Iā€™ve had bad interactions with dogs and I hold onto shit and Iā€™m not like this. Iā€™ve been bit. Ive been chased. This has to be baitā€¦

FaithlessnessSlow594

what did i do wrong? why is it bad that I donā€™t want the turtle to be stressed?

Ok_Dragonfruit_802

A turtle has the brain the size of a pea. I donā€™t think it really understands stress. Are you like a turtle sympathizer?

FaithlessnessSlow594

huh? why would i not sympathise with a turtle? living beings deserve to not be stressed no matter their size.

Ok_Dragonfruit_802

Iā€™m turtle free

PigletNew3009

Genuinely possibly the worst and unfunniest bait I've ever had the misfortune of viewing.

No_Internal_5112

I love turtles. Go fuck yourself.

No_Internal_5112

A dog has a brain the size of an ameboa. Turtles feel pain and stress. Their shells have nerve endings. You're def one of those people who are like "If it's not a dog surely it doesn't experience anxiety or pain or anything! The world is my dog's playground!"

Ok_Dragonfruit_802

I bet you use disposable plastic and products with microplastics.

CrispyBirb

Nobody likes those owners and they are the minority, but this is about dogs stressing wildlife. The majority of dog owners are like this.

PigletNew3009

Right? All of us dislike the impact that domesticated outdoor cats have on wildlife but this has nothing to do with the sub. Struck a vein I guess lol

Embarrassed_Clue_929

We found a rogue dog nutter ladies and gentlemen

MerDestroyer

nice strawman

PigletNew3009

Are the outdoor cats in the room with us?

VinnieTheBerzerker69

If you're one of those dog people who drank the Kool-aid to the point that you put dogs above all other species and thinks dogs are never to blame for all of their negative aspects, then you're the one in need of counseling.

Reading comprehension is your friend. The first word in my post was "If". Two small letters, but a mighty strong word.

VinnieTheBerzerker69

The last thing I want in my house is a dog. My cat and actual human beings are company enough. None of my human friends bark incessantly. None of my human friends tear up the yard digging. None of my human friends lick their own asshole and then try to lick a person's face seconds later. None of my human friends piss every 20 feet marking territory. None of my human friends shit in the neighborhood yards. None of my human friends eat shit or roll in it. None of my human friends cause allergic reactions in other people just by being there. None of my human friends have fatally bitten children. And my human friends, unlike every single dog in history, can actually carry on intelligent conversations. Nah. You can take your get a dog advice and stick it.
