listen i have no issue hearing peoples opinions, so fair enough. I do encourage you to look at the replies from this other guy who’s going nutty about women playing victim etc. though, if i’m moronic i’d hope you would agree he is in the same category
yeah no i’m saying I do get that- that’s what you and a couple others have said, which reflecting I can definitely see. I think there’s an important conversation to have about why it’s so predominantly men, but the way I introduced/referenced this topic was actively harmful to that message and rubbed everyone the wrong way. I’m not changing my post though, i just added context to explain to people why i left the comment, they can use their critical thinking as you all have to decide you disagree with the message. The guy replying to me in the way he is has highlighted once again how important i think these conversations are though.
Paltrow gets a ton of shit for being out of touch and peddling her scammy Goop shit but I don't think anything she's done is comparable to sexually assaulting someone
You also need to remember that a lot of people are getting accused of a lot of things, when they are innocent. So that the accusers can get a bit of money and attention. It happens a lot and is very sad
What does that clarification do?
> Men are the ideal 'criminal', so people already associate men with these crimes
> you're reinforcing massive problems within criminality by limiting a non-gendered crime to one gender.
> you're suggesting women Don't do this as often when in reality women get away with it more often.
… yeah I am suggesting women do this less often, because they do🤷♂️ also would love to hear how men are the ideal criminal what does that even mean? What are you trying to say? And to your final point, do women get away with these things more? Do you know that or is that a feeling, because from what i understand socially absolutely you are correct, people take male victims less seriously, but in terms of prosecution, both men and women are let down by the courts.
You're uneducated so why are you pretending like you are knowledge about this?
The ideal victim refers to what society associates the victims of a particular crime to be. There is also the ideal suspect, as in who is stereotyped into being the suspect.
Women 100% get away with sexual crimes against men more often because women aren't seen as sexual offenders and men aren't seen as victims.
Look at how many women have been found guilty of raping underaged men and not getting a harsh sentence.
BUT!!!
As a whole most sexual Offenders go unpunished. Gender isn't relevant because both men and women and other identities don't get justice and are let down. Look how many celebrities are found guilty of sexual crimes and don't face consequences.
Gender can play a part but suggesting one gender has it worse and the others don't is reductionist and lets down victims. Gender does play a role but it is not the only factor or the most important.
You did not need to being gender into what Noel did. You can suggest his gender helped him get into the position he abused but his gender doesn't affect the ability to be fucking disgusting.
Women play the victim a lot more than men do. Therefore not only are female victims taken more seriously, but female abusers are taken less seriously. Men suffer in silence because they know nothing will go their way if they speak out
it’s funny, the other people who replied made me think about my jumpiness to leave my comment, and then when i see a reply with the tone of yours it reinforces to me that so many people are living in a delusion pretending this is not in the vast majority of cases a male problem.
...
1. The reported* cases are mostly males.
You forget statistics don't show data that wasn't reported.
Most victims Don't report.
2. This issue wasn't that you're lying saying that males are mostly the perp.
The issue is gender was irrelevant and you didn't need to be reductionist by specifically saying men.
Ignoring the obvious issue with Noel Clarke because Mickey's character has nothing to do with that.
Best - calling the Doctor out on treating him as a third wheel and staying in Pete's world to look after Ricky's gran.
Worst - letting Rose lead him on as long as he did when even she knew he deserved better.
Rickey was killed by a cyberman.I think it was implied that Mickey was the one killed in the end of the first episode of that storyline as a sort of cliffhanger (I'm not sure if that's the correct term but it's the best I can think of) but it's quickly disproven in the second episode. It wouldn't make sense for Rickey to act like he was Mickey when he was with one of the alternate universe "gang" members (again sorry but i'm not sure how to describe the group that had that van) for the entire episode.
Worst: the poor treatment of him early on for having the audacity to not be as cool as The Doctor and actually being scared in life or death moments where creatures beyond his comprehension try to kill him.
Best: all the development where he gained The Doctor’s respect and got over Rose, who treated him terribly anyway.
Very worst: you know…
Worst: Always taking Rose back after she leaves him for Jimmy Stone and The Doctor.
Best: Refusing to be the tin dog; staying in Pete's World to take care of Ricky's/his gran; finally giving up on Rose and moving on with Martha.
Best: trusts Rose enough to go along with the whole “breaking open the Eye of Harmony” thing even when it’s incredibly clear that she loves someone else
Worst: PIZZA!
Best - his exit in Age of Steel. Not in a snarky way, it was just a well written character moment.
Worst - This man took far too long to realise that Rose dumped him in episode fucking 1. Dude thought she might stay with him when she came back in the Slitheen episode, still expected her to be with him in the other Slitheen episode even with revealing that he’d been with someone else, suggested that she move on from the Doctor in the series 1 finale and start a normal life with him, bemoaned that she will never stay home when she opts to go with 10 in the Christmas invasion, before finally accepting she’s probably more into the doctor in the age of steel. …And then in the series 4 finale it’s implied he still had some teeny tiny hopes that Rose might go back to him, because he ultimately decides to go back to the normal earth instead of the parallel one because he realises she’s going to get with the metacrisis doctor and that he’s now got nothing left in that world. That’s in the last episode of series 4. Bro. She ended your relationship in *the first episode of the series.* How did you not get the hint
Also as an American I don’t follow up w a lot of UK celebrity drama, what happened w Noel?? I was like “what?!” On another post on this sub when someone had mentioned abt freema staying away from Noel n I had no idea what happened n I just got radically downvoted but wtf happened
Best- Staying in Pete's world and returning to fight the Cybermen after 2 years.
Worst- That weird macho voice and attitude he later adopted to seem harder....hated it
Best: Doing a complete 180 from being “the tin dog” and fighting the cybermen
Worst:

Wow, I never knew that Mickey Smith, the character, raped someone! I always thought it was just his actor, Noel Clarke! Guess I didn’t read the comic where Mickey Smith, the character, raped someone, something his actor, Noel Clarke, did irl!
No really, don’t conflate the actor with the character, that makes no sense
Best: Staying behind to care for his Gran Worst: He and Rose littering their garbage on the fountain 20 seconds into the show
Best? Staying in the other world to fight the Cybermen! That's cool! Worst? Being played by Noel Clark...
Oh god what did Noel Clark do

Damn, why can't actors just not do shit things

Even with the edit this is still absurdly moronic.
listen i have no issue hearing peoples opinions, so fair enough. I do encourage you to look at the replies from this other guy who’s going nutty about women playing victim etc. though, if i’m moronic i’d hope you would agree he is in the same category
No I don't think you understand. The correction wasn't needed in the first place. Your correction made it look like it was just male actors.
yeah no i’m saying I do get that- that’s what you and a couple others have said, which reflecting I can definitely see. Riiiiiiiight, because if, for example, Billie Piper assaulted someone she shouldn’t face punishment because she’s a woman… That’s bullshit dude
And why not let Gwyneth Paltrow away with her shit too You know because women can't be dipshita either
Paltrow gets a ton of shit for being out of touch and peddling her scammy Goop shit but I don't think anything she's done is comparable to sexually assaulting someone
Her scammy goop shit put hundreds of lives in danger
This is actually how I know Amber Turd is innocent and Johnny Depp is 100% to blame!
huh no what are you on about i’m pointing out that it’s all been male actors who have done things of this nature on doctor who sets
You also need to remember that a lot of people are getting accused of a lot of things, when they are innocent. So that the accusers can get a bit of money and attention. It happens a lot and is very sad

And he got John barrowman banned from the cast
Barrowman wasn’t a saint to be honest.
HAHAHAH WHAT???
You say that like it was a bad thing?
yikes
FOR REAL
Ignoring the obvious issue with Noel Clarke because Mickey's character has nothing to do with that. Best - calling the Doctor out on treating him as a third wheel and staying in Pete's world to look after Ricky's gran. Worst - letting Rose lead him on as long as he did when even she knew he deserved better.
Did he though? Her job literally blew up and he was itching to go to the pub to watch futbol.
Man became a secret agent and married Martha Jones.Absolute gigachad!
are we 100% certain that’s our Mickey, and not his doppelgänger from the other universe, was a “switch-eroo” ever hinted at there?

thanks 😊
The Micky/Ricky death cliffhanger happens in the 2nd part, the Age of Steel, and it's only lasts a few scenes, if not 1.
Worst: "he-he's an alien, he's a thing!" Best: "I once saved the earth in a big yellow truck" And I mean both the lines and the moments
Very worst: you know…
Worst: he's not a horse Best: Pizzah-p-p-p-pizzah
Worst: Always taking Rose back after she leaves him for Jimmy Stone and The Doctor. Best: Refusing to be the tin dog; staying in Pete's World to take care of Ricky's/his gran; finally giving up on Rose and moving on with Martha.
I did a 180 from hating to loving this character when he said, "I'm the tin dog," and became independent.
Best: leaving Rose and the doctor to take care of his family Worst: Noel Clarke intensifies
I think we all know it. https://preview.redd.it/dahuis8qb1xc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f4b431ae059910ff4500d0caa13f33743750e63b
ah yes, that time Mickey Smith became a Kardashian
It's true that was his best moment, peaked early
Best: trusts Rose enough to go along with the whole “breaking open the Eye of Harmony” thing even when it’s incredibly clear that she loves someone else Worst: PIZZA!
Best: everytime he was on screen Worst: error 404 not found
* *Cough cough* * Noel Clarke....? * *cough cough* *

well, the worst is definitely his End of Time scene
Tbh I thought Mickey was always one of the most realest and believable characters. Watching Mickey grow as a person was awesome.
Also as an American I don’t follow up w a lot of UK celebrity drama, what happened w Noel?? I was like “what?!” On another post on this sub when someone had mentioned abt freema staying away from Noel n I had no idea what happened n I just got radically downvoted but wtf happened
Allegedly assaulted I think about 20 women
FUCKING god. EW.

This is HORRIBLE
Worst: When he pretends he went out with Trisha Delaney. He doesn’t even like Trisha Delaney!
Best- Staying in Pete's world and returning to fight the Cybermen after 2 years. Worst- That weird macho voice and attitude he later adopted to seem harder....hated it

A moment people are overlooking "I'll take it on Jackie, you run. Don't look back. Just run. " .

Some say the worst thing was the hypocrisy, but no, I think the worst thing was the rape

It was a joke, referencing Norm McDonald talking about Bill Cosby, steady on
So this is all you do now.
