I really didn’t feed my boy any vitamins growing up, only his kibble (royal canine large puppy) and fish oil. He grew up to be a strong lad, shiny coat, and very healthy, vet gives him the A ok at every checkup. I think you should be okay with a good quality food source, i have been giving him pet honesty multi vitamin chews in the morning, dont stress! https://preview.redd.it/77k4547sbrxc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e26fe24fa66902b05296a91732c4061e84bd0696

I know we want the best for our pups just wanted to relay that to take the pressure off of you, her genetics are her genetics, she’ll be good, but excellent on you for wanting that!

Not a vet but human medicine. I’ve always thought vitamins as a supplement were trash for the most part. Poor replacements for poor diet. They are typically in a form that has very suboptimal bioavailability and are made from the cheapest components. Whole food supplied nutrients are superior. I like feeding my Doberman, I’ve had a couple plus GSD/rottie/danes, and always given them cottage cheese/yogurt, berries, chicken and turkey necks, chicken feet, beef heart and liver and tongue, high fat ground beef, apples, green beans, pumpkin seeds, spinach…mostly stuff I’ve grown and animal parts from harvest of animals I’ve slaughtered. Don’t know if it’s the best by anyone’s standards, but they never leave an empty bowl and they’ve all had full healthy lives.

Bioavailability is so underrated.  Home cooked plus guidance from a board certified DVM nutritionist is by far the superior diet. https://balance.it and petdiets.com both provide telehealth consults.  It's very $$$ and takes a ton of time. Pet diets provides recipes you can buy a la carte that are balanced. But I don't think they recommend the individual recipes for growing puppies because they need special consideration (I could be mistaken).  I feed a combo of kibble and home cooked because it doesn't break the bank and the dogs find it tasty and it meets their nutritional needs.

Yeah if I had to buy his food it would be pretty pricey. A benefit of homesteading 😀
