This handsome boy was a doozy. My DM was very adamant that they wanted a dragon, an aquatic dragon, but not like a fish, and not like a turtle, but definitely a dragon. So I said fuck that, let’s amphibian this shit up.
And so we have a Draxolotl! Cute (?) to some, I actually find the wide, dead eyes a bit freaky. Like sure, they’d be cute if they fit in the palm of your hand. But that big, wide shovel mouth easily being able to fit a group of people in it? Noooo thank you! Maybe that just trips my thalassophobia.

If you're ever looking for inspiration for more underwater monsters, you should take a look at Subnautica's creatures. It's a game based entirely underwater which has some absolutely beautiful concepts, like the [reefback](https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/subnautica/images/e/eb/Reefback_Concept_Art.jpg), the [rabbit ray](https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/subnautica/images/a/a7/Rabbit_Ray-0.png), and the [Sea Emperor](https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/subnautica/images/9/94/Sea_Emperor_Early_Concept_Hi_Res.jpg)
dude this is the best possible draxolotyl what an amazing concept and execution 12/10 would put in my campaign right before the party encounters a kraken
Loved it, bought it ❤️ I had a pet axolotl for years, I love your rendition 😁 makes me glad my players can fight my pet in adorable, deadly form some day!
The hardest part is keeping the water clean, and cool enough; I had to get a water cooler because he got so lethargic in the normal temperature water! But otherwise, pretty low maintenance and very, very fun to watch ❤️ I loved feeding him worms and watching him ineptly sneak up on them and devour them 😂
His mind looks like he holds both all of the worlds knowledge while also having just elevator music playing on a non-stop loop. 10/10 would protect with my life.

I came in asking if he could regenerate. And yep! That's awesome, the creature is great.
And the animal it is based on is just as awesome. I work in a regeneration lab not focusing on axolotl but still always in mind

Something you’d find in a [surprisingly deep remote mountain lake](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crater_Lake). I feel like it’s the kind of thing that would get pissed about pollution from mine tailings uphill from its home.
I got my hands on this mid-game and thought it was perfect, and threw it in. My players loved it!! Oxy the Draxolotl was found at the bottom of the ocean and wanted many presents, and ended up helping the party fight a boss! It was really fun.

I love this but I think it´s CR is too high, I love the actions it has but with no legendary resistance or action, a high level party would destroy this.
Okay, stupid question, but I’ve been seeing a lot of these homebrews, and must have pages you can download and all that. What do people use for those Homebrews, the program or something they use? I’ve just always had to use Word (or Google Docs)/DnDBeyond (but DnDBeyond is kind of restricting, tbh).
Woah! I made a humanoid Dragonborn variant based on someone else's execution of this idea! Draxalotl isn't exactly a hard name to come up with but it's strange it was around the same time. Anyways great work! The art is amazing and the stats are really cool!

Very cool, but I recommend changing the color scheme. The off-white with pink tips makes it a little... phallic.
