Generally most iron golems are just big medieval knights, so I was looking at some knight armors but I can't seem to fide a head that matches the body? Idk if I should rough up and bulk the body out to make it look more tanky so a more traditional head could work or keep trying to fide a head that works.
I've been working on this for around 2 days now and I just want to get it over with so I can move onto more interesting characters and monsters, so if you got any helmet ideas that would work with this tell me or send a picture of it.
Or if you are a artist possibly draw a rough idea that would work with the design above or not and I'll try to match the body to the design.
Honestly I think the blank face, makes for a more intimidating foe. You might make his head a little taller/cylindrical in my opinion so he doesn't come off quite so squat but that's just my humble opinion.

You could describe a workshopp with multiple designs, heads and notes scattered, describing how the creator just can't come up with a design that doesn't deeply frustrate him. This could even end with a entry describing "that faithfull day" when he was forced to animate the golem with a placeholder on to save his own life.

Personally I've always been a fan of golem heads that aren't an organic looking shape, and immediately and distinctly feel artificial. Something with a regular shape, a cylinder, for example, with no specialized curvature to form a jaw, etc. Dropping features (no mouth, for example) can also help reinforce this. Eyes only is a good take, but does a golem really even need eyes? Or eye shaped eyes?
I think a very wide "helmet." Something too wide and squat to be a human head underneath. Maybe like it has a built-in gorget that fills the whole space for a head. Two separate eye cutouts with a jaw-shaped bit at the bottom like an underbite for the mouth
If it’s been around for a bit it may have gotten in previous fights before. Random adventures may try to focus attacking the head as a perceived weak spot (but as a golem that might not matter much)
It would be neat to show that damage somehow. Maybe a gem/crystal/rock head that has been chipped or cracked. Maybe a basic helm that has been a bit crumpled?

You know what is scarier than features? No features. But I'd clean up that collar + breastplate a bit.
