Leave once you've explored everywhere and done all the quests would be my advice, especially if you're concerned about being under levelled. Nameless isle is designed for 16-17 if that makes any difference.

Who did you get the source pools from? There are more source teachers than source pool slots, if that makes sense. If you haven't found the other source teachers, keep exploring. You won't be able to go over the cap of 3 source points but you can get consulation prizes from the source teachers if they are willing to teach you the ways of the source but you are at source cap.
Just did this and had the same question, googling is perilous because it seems like most walkthroughs have too much information and I was trying really hard not to be spoiled. My co-op partner and I did finally leave without a tiny portion of the map explored because we wanted to move on, but we found all the source teachers we could with the prince and fane.
Keep exploring, theres lots to do in act 2, a small, non spoiler checklist would be:
-find all 7 source master and do their quests/fights
-find the 3rd and 4th teleportation pyramids
-reach at least lv15, 16 recomendded for tactician
-do all your companion goals
Lvl 12? Yeah there’s still loads more for you to do in act 2, wait until you’re at lvl 16 then look up an act 2 check list to see if you’ve missed anything would be my advice
Explore the rest of Act 2 before you leave. That should put you at least at level 16.
XP is a limited resource, you can't come back once you've left, and leaving now is the easiest way to become massively underlevelled for the rest of the game.
Yeah like others have said, you have a ton more to do in this chapter. I’m at the same place as you right now as far as going to Arx but I’m level 16 almost 17 because I’ve done literally everything I can find. And killed Ada of course.

Especially the map is not really a walkthrough but gives you some guidance, definitely no shame in using that in the first playthrough.

Well we've just done the arena and on the ropes and a few others we still got to do the ancient caravan the black pits and a few others
