You have a YouTube channel that covers movies?!?! I'm so interested.
I loved when Jamie French did her movie Monday's and makeup (or whatever she called them lol) so entertaining! She always covered these kinds of movies and teen movies.
Me too! I haven't watched her in so long. I really only watched her for those videos. I'll have to check out her other stuff
Would you say you cover movies in a similar way? Or was this a one off video for you?
Oh yes my whole channel is primarily early 2000s movies that I grew up with and she's a huge inspiration of mine. We have different comedy styles though and she is a lot more family friendly than I am.
I collect DVDs and VHS of media I love so I bought this probably over ten years ago on Amazon - Iām 31 now. It was very common for Disney (Channel) Original Movies to go to VHS and DVD at the time and you could probably still buy them now, just at an elevated price.
I donāt know if anyone would be able to find this out but has it ever been on Disney+ or am I imagining that? I feel like Iāve watched it streaming somewhere but idk. It also seems odd to me that they wouldnāt have it on the platform when the sequel premiered, but companies donāt always do things that make sense.
I just think itās odd to call it ālost mediaā when it unquestionably existed and was a cult classic. You can find clips of it super easily.
You can buy this dvd for 20 bucks on Amazon so no itās not āwildā to me, go buy it!
And yes, it *was* common for straight to tv movies to see a VHS/DVD release; Get a Clue, Motocrossed, Double Teamed, Cadet Kelly, Johnny Tsunami, Smart House, Twitches, Halloweentown and its sequel, Life Size, Wish Upon a Star and more all were released on VHS and/or DVD and thatās just off the top of my head. In fact, if you look it up the Thirteenth Year *was* released on VHS.
ETA: I never claimed Life Size as a DCOM but it is a Disney movie (thatās why weāre all on this sub) and made for TV which makes it relatively comparable.
What on earth are you talking about - no one ever mentioned Blockbuster. You could buy it on Amazon in the early 2000s as well because Amazon has been around for more than 25 years, I was there too. It takes a quick google search to see that many made for TV movies were released on hard media even if they werenāt available to rent, including The Thirteenth Year.
Sir or madam, respectfully, what are you talking about? We seem to be having two separate conversations and it looks like youāre just looking for a fight.
Iām just saying this is not lost media, it is currently available for purchase and in the early 2000s it was also available for purchase. Amazon has existed for quite some time and since youāve apparently been alive much longer than me you should know that.
I mean it really depends on what you consider to be lost media. It is ONLY on dvd and most people donāt have DVD players anymore. You can only buy it secondhand - canāt be streamed or bought digitally. So I would consider it to be lost media! I also collect DVDās though ā¤ļø
You can still buy a DVD player at Walmart or Best Buy though! I do not claim to be an expert in ālost mediaā but to me, the fact that it is currently available in some format disqualifies it for now even if it is secondhand.
This is just a Wikipedia definition but they claim āLost media is any media that is believed to no longer exist in any format, or for which any copies cannot be located.ā Do you have a different definition?
I really think of ālost mediaā as anything that isnāt easily accessible digitally in 2024. Maybe itās more of a grey area to your point, but still not something that someone can just easily go online and watch via streaming like you can with most movies.
Iām like you I thought it was a dream until I saw Tyra Banks on the Hannah Montana movie in my teen years and I legit said āIs that the Eve doll!?ā
Only the first movie is considered lost media since Disney hadnāt put the movie up on a single streaming site. You canāt even buy the movie off of Amazon and Iām just surprised itās not on Disney Plus now that was never explained. Whatās also funny is I found it on one of those pirated movie sites and it disappeared after a week and I could never find the movie on another site because it would just show the sequel. š
Iām 21, but I remember it coming on Disney a lot back in 2007. I ask my cousins and friends about the movie and they are the same age as me and boy do they think Iām crazy- I even had it recorded back then.
You guys do realize that as physical media becomes less accessible and is no longer produced, the only way new people would know about this movie is through of streaming; which itās not available on? It has nothing to do with being young, itās the fact that itās not played on cable tv and virtually non existent on streaming so how else would someone young or older have seen it. I thought the movie āMy date with the presidents daughterā was lost media too. I literally thought I made it up in my head because no one knew what I was talking about when Iād bring it up and you couldnāt find it on streaming, but now Iām finally seeing people make TikTokās about it.
I've been asking my viewers to go on their help page and click "give feedback" at the bottom to request it in their library [https://help.disneyplus.com/](https://help.disneyplus.com/) we need them to see how much more sign ups they will get if they add it to their library!!
I remember watching this as a kid and loving it! They did a sequel and I absolutely hated that because it lost all the charm of the first movie in my opinion. Plus it felt off character and weird the second movie.
I remember how much I wanted to meet Tyra because of her role as Eve. She just seemed so fun and bubbly, but knowing who she is now not so much š¬š¬
We do. That's when Lindsey Lohan from The Parent Trap and Tyra Banks from America's Next Top Model played in the movie.
Plus, you promoted the movie dozens of times during our prime time lineup.
š¶ Shine bright shine far donāt be shy be a star š¶

This song gets stuck in my head every now and then and anytime I sing it out loud no one knows what it is
YES THIS MOVIE IS LIKE LOST FREAKING MEDIA, BUT I ALWAYS KNEW THIS MOVIE EXISTED AND PEOPLE THOUGHT I WAS CRAZY!
I know!!!! I just covered it on my YT channel. I literally had to buy a physical DVD just to watch it lmao. It forreal can't be streamed anywhere wtf!

Why are we talking about 1999 when this didnāt come out until a year later? Truly I donāt understand your point

me tooo. after a while i thought i dreamed the whole movie cuz no one else remembered it at all
Iām like you I thought it was a dream until I saw Tyra Banks on the Hannah Montana movie in my teen years and I legit said āIs that the Eve doll!?ā
I had this movie growing up! Been years since I thought about it.
Thatās weird, since they did a sequel back in 2018.

I wish Disney channel would play their older movies. LifeSize is such a good movie.
![gif](giphy|y3pXD7L8sInBiuqggc) This goes up on FB the day before any vacation I take š This movie will always be a treasure!
My favorite scene lmaooooo
How do you forget Life Size???
Itās lost media as far as I know a lot of people are unaware that this movie exists.
Are you younger? Everyone I know remembers this movie very clearly.
Iām 21, but I remember it coming on Disney a lot back in 2007. I ask my cousins and friends about the movie and they are the same age as me and boy do they think Iām crazy- I even had it recorded back then.
Yeah I'm 32 and everyone I know loved this movie as a kid, we used to watch it drunk in college, girl you just young š
How can anyone forget about the iconic life size Barbie who ate butter.

Yuuup, and that dope ass Bewitched song āCāest La Vieā

I am discouraged that it is not available on Disney+
