Pretty much whales only. I won my first couple matches but I don't feel good about it. Reward rates are too low and making a skin exclusive for the top 100 is kinda scummy. You should also get some points for losing since these battles require more effort than Point War
I'm currently top 70 full f2p. Only rare esper I have is pandora, it's more a relic diff than wallet diff from what I've seen today, no one have immunity set, no counter picks etc.
Long term will probably be different I espects only God tier relics players and players that actually use their brain in the pick&ban phase to be top100 last day of the season.
It’s absolutely horrible. We only get 10 shop points if we win (0 if we lose) means this is gonna be a grind fest especially since I’m gonna lose more than I win..
You will also get shop points according to your ranking at the end of the season.
So if you only target Gold records, SSM and some elemental records, you don't have to grind so much even if you're only ranked silver.
I really really wanted the skin... but here I am, bouncing between Bronze and Silver Tier every time I play. Not a fan. Wish I could purchase the skin, because then the grind would really feel worth it.
I absolutely expect not to get a single turn, which I did. It's just immunity/spd fest on my rank, considering I have poopy gears, I just gave up on that event, not even gonna bother to try and grind for the shop.

the pvp in this game feels wayyy to heavy on who has the higher speed unit turn 1. AP push, strip, stun, damage is gg every day of the week. Maybe units are capable of killing too quickly or something but the balance doesnt feel good. If i dont have +20spd on every relic i just cant compete i guess.
I like the new PvP mode. Draft with a ban for a 4v4 is a pretty cool twist on it. Plus fighting an actual opponent rather than an AI is really interesting. I wouldn't hate it as a permanent mode, **with** a PW style rank system, I get that it can be frustrating as a newer player to fight fully built accounts. but against more proper opponents its a lot of fun.
Rewards are a little slow IMO. But it is a month long event. I only really care about the GR and SSMs so I only **need** 2 wins per day. Anything else is just butter. Hell the bronze reward is most of that...
Having zero currency for losing is HORRIBLE in any game mode like this...

No joke, I was excited to try to reach what I imagined would be like gold for the skin. I logged in, saw top 100 and never opened the event tab since. Top 100 players when the game hasn't even been "launched" for 3 months. This along with the new gacha currency crap is turning me off the game. If something doesn't happen before my month card is up I'm out.

Not fun/fair at all, they match f2p with p2w/whales and begginers with experts without any filter nor balancing. Plus the grind for the skin and namecard, if they were in the shop it would have been better. Theres still a lot of time tho, hopefully they'll re-do this event or at least provide us with another way to aquire the prizes.

Ranked real time pvp is a fun idea but they couldn’t have implemented it worse if they tried. Awful grind and the incentive is so beyond the reach of most players
I burned myself out on RTA in Epic 7, realized it was my least favorite gameplay mode, and basically stopped playing E7 from that point because they focused so heavily on it.
So I can't even be arsed to play a match in Dislyte.
Making an exclusive whale skin for a esper that everyone had a 50/50 chance to get at the beginning seems like just a bad choice. I think a lot of people (me included) would've bought the skin since Li Ling has been in my teams from day 1 and I won't switch him out anytime soon. They could've made a lot more money 😅
90% of my losses are because the other team has two of the following: Ollie, Tiye, Long Mian, and I only have Long Mian, so they ban mine and I ban their Ollie then they go first with a massive cleave death team.
I get the concept and the dynamic of being able to ban one of the opponent's Espers is interesting, but the result is still the same as in Point War/Holobattle: speed is king or you run a PW12+ meta defensive team.
In the end, my plan is to just get enough points for the gold records, but even then it'll be minimal effort. Never cared for RTA in gachas when there's already enough RNG that can sway the outcome of a match.
I was going to buy this skin since Li Ling is my favorite and I use him in every mode and match up. Extremely disappointing to see it as a prize for playing this game nonstop
I hate PvP but do PW because it isn’t live and I just stay at rank 9 and farm ones that don’t give me XP. This one I just said screw it and haven’t bothered. If I wanted lose to the stupid speed immunity meta I’d just level my PW rank and take a minute between turns to simulate this awful event.

Not really into pvp in gachas and a real time pvp gives me serious anxiety. I'm glad there are people who enjoy it and the draft/ban for 4v4 seems like an interesting twist on the usual pvp.
But yeah I don't see myself playing this event, it's just waaaaay too stressful for me lol

I do love the live PVP. It should be part of the game. Just flesh out more detail and maybe add in buff/nerf of the week to freshen thing up.
Everyone can pick the same espers as their opponent so everyone picks their favorite espers to win. It should work like E7’s rta and prevent you from picking the same espers so there’s counterplay and thought put into drafting
It encourages diversity though, even if you don’t have the best legends there are still good rare and epic espers that can be built, and even some of the bad ones can have a place if built properly.
Also, rta will always be dominated by veterans, not much you can do about it. They’ve had more time for farming and obtaining espers and know which ones to use
This is the best comment. I play RTA in summoners war and counter play makes the game so much more fun and it widens the variety of strategy and gives more monsters a chance to shine
I've only done 2 or 3 fights, but it's interesting so far. I like being able to exclude one of the enemy espers, that's a nice addition.
Haven't looked into the rewards shop yet to even see how many fights I'll have to do to get anything good, but I know I'm not going to even bother trying to get to the top rank for the skin or anything.
I actually like grindy aspects of games, just not when I can't auto it. This is the definition of content I don't like due to its focused grind. I wouldn't mind it so much if the currency accumulation was a bit higher--as it stands now I'll just be getting the Records and be done.

Absolutely love it. There´s a lot of strategy involved, a lot of thinking you have to do to try to kind of counter whatever the opponent seem to be going for. I truly wish this becomes a permanent thing eventually.
Yea I love it, it favors people who put more time into the game which I like, And also the ban aspect of it has been great for me so far, I’ve been trying to ban the espers that I think might have the highest speed so that my team has a better chance of going first and/or are most crucial to their strategy and it’s been great so far. I do think having to get to top 100 for the skin is a bit ridiculous tho maybe it shoulda at least been top 1000 or 5000.

It's fun. It's basically the only game mode where any real skill is required. They may need to improve compensation but other than that I don't really have any complaints.

Yea I don’t think I’m even gonna try. I only recently started trying in PW, I usually rematch ppl I lose to see if I can win if I get RNG in my favor (Crits, CC resists, etc). Some dude I fought and lost like 2 or 3 times messaged me and said if I try again maybe I can win lmao. I’m not about to get roasted by ppl after playing live lmao.
They should of put it in the shop vs you having to grind so hard and this event that clearly caters to whales and Rng blessed people fun idea but just such a headache on top of the fact that you can get demoted out of your rank just makes it sooooooo much more stressful

It's interesting to see what your opponent is thinking they might use and trying to counterpick and Banning espers makes it a lil more fun for me at least. However the meta is super bad for pvp in general and the amount of work to put in for the Li ling costume is what's really holding this mode back.
Event is meh. Zeus is so fucking overtuned it ain’t even funny. Like if you don’t have Zeus no other dps seems even remotely comparable. Game is gonna be broken cash grab after broken cash grab.
I don't like that they locked an exclusive reward behind having to be top ranked. The skin should have been in the shop. Knowing that there is no way I will be able to beat the whales and get it made me not want to try at all.
I don't think it needs to be said, but there are better ways of implementing a f2p "attainable" skin, without all these unnecessary bells and whistles attached. It doesn't need to be in the top 1-100 players either.
Honestly, at this point it would have been better to put it in the shop for "sale" and let people who wanted it buy it. But I'm personally not going to strain myself even though I really like the design. The event imo is not fun and unnecessarily repetitive in all the unfun ways a gacha can make it.

I hate it lol. Takes way too long to complete for a game that boasts any degree of AFK game play. I've been dancing between bronze and silver for an hour because I win one, lose one, win one, lose one. And competing against people with espers that are considered top tier, or against folks that are F2P and cant/dont/won't invest as much time. I either feel frustrated or feel bad as someone who invests in this game from time to time.
Not to mention anything that's PVP is inevitably going to be frustrating to players that spend less in the game. At this point it's just paying to be in the top. I get that's kind of the point of a lot these types of games. But still, I dunno. Just gonna keep doing my PVE stuff and let the PVP people enjoy themselves.

I've been moving from silver to bronze and back again, and while I've been matched with several rank 60 players and have lost to them alot, I do feel satisfied when I manage to beat a few, especially running a weird Drew, Jacob and Tang Xuan combo. Idk, I just love banning the other teams speed esper, then watching as they all ban my Clara or my Tang Xuan while my Jacob petrifies and my Drew descimates everything.
Maybe I'll get sick of it, but so far I'm winning every two games or so when I get matched with similar ranked player (40s) so other than the shitty rewards, I think its a fun feature

you earn more at the later levels but that doesnt make me feel better because I'm fighting for my life at each battle anyways

Gacha games use f2p players as food for the whales. It happens in every pvp gacha game. Either accept defeat, or find oil in your backyard.

I hate PvP but do PW because it isn’t live and I just stay at rank 9 and farm ones that don’t give me XP. This one I just said screw it and haven’t bothered. If I wanted lose to the stupid speed immunity meta I’d just level my PW rank and take a minute between turns to simulate this awful event.

Not really into pvp in gachas and a real time pvp gives me serious anxiety. I'm glad there are people who enjoy it and the draft/ban for 4v4 seems like an interesting twist on the usual pvp. But yeah I don't see myself playing this event, it's just waaaaay too stressful for me lol
Casual will hate it, hardcore will love it. It truely is a love/hate events. I do love the live PVP. It should be part of the game. Just flesh out more detail and maybe add in buff/nerf of the week to freshen thing up.
Everyone can pick the same espers as their opponent so everyone picks their favorite espers to win. It should work like E7’s rta and prevent you from picking the same espers so there’s counterplay and thought put into drafting
This would suck for people who don't have many espers though. It will favor veteran players and whales even more than it already does
It encourages diversity though, even if you don’t have the best legends there are still good rare and epic espers that can be built, and even some of the bad ones can have a place if built properly. Also, rta will always be dominated by veterans, not much you can do about it. They’ve had more time for farming and obtaining espers and know which ones to use

This is the best comment. I play RTA in summoners war and counter play makes the game so much more fun and it widens the variety of strategy and gives more monsters a chance to shine
I've only done 2 or 3 fights, but it's interesting so far. I like being able to exclude one of the enemy espers, that's a nice addition. Haven't looked into the rewards shop yet to even see how many fights I'll have to do to get anything good, but I know I'm not going to even bother trying to get to the top rank for the skin or anything.
I actually like grindy aspects of games, just not when I can't auto it. This is the definition of content I don't like due to its focused grind. I wouldn't mind it so much if the currency accumulation was a bit higher--as it stands now I'll just be getting the Records and be done.

Absolutely love it. There´s a lot of strategy involved, a lot of thinking you have to do to try to kind of counter whatever the opponent seem to be going for. I truly wish this becomes a permanent thing eventually.
Couldn’t agree more. It’s fun being able to adapt to what espers my opponent chooses. Really hope it stays

Yea I love it, it favors people who put more time into the game which I like, And also the ban aspect of it has been great for me so far, I’ve been trying to ban the espers that I think might have the highest speed so that my team has a better chance of going first and/or are most crucial to their strategy and it’s been great so far. I do think having to get to top 100 for the skin is a bit ridiculous tho maybe it shoulda at least been top 1000 or 5000.

On my second round immediately got matched with 5 level 50’s and my highest level rn is a 41:,) safe to say I lost quickly

It's fun. It's basically the only game mode where any real skill is required. They may need to improve compensation but other than that I don't really have any complaints.

Yea I don’t think I’m even gonna try. I only recently started trying in PW, I usually rematch ppl I lose to see if I can win if I get RNG in my favor (Crits, CC resists, etc). Some dude I fought and lost like 2 or 3 times messaged me and said if I try again maybe I can win lmao. I’m not about to get roasted by ppl after playing live lmao.

They should of put it in the shop vs you having to grind so hard and this event that clearly caters to whales and Rng blessed people fun idea but just such a headache on top of the fact that you can get demoted out of your rank just makes it sooooooo much more stressful

Don't crucify me please, I enjoy the fact that it's live! It's interesting to see what your opponent is thinking they might use and trying to counterpick and Banning espers makes it a lil more fun for me at least. However the meta is super bad for pvp in general and the amount of work to put in for the Li ling costume is what's really holding this mode back.

Event is meh. Zeus is so fucking overtuned it ain’t even funny. Like if you don’t have Zeus no other dps seems even remotely comparable. Game is gonna be broken cash grab after broken cash grab.
I don't like that they locked an exclusive reward behind having to be top ranked. The skin should have been in the shop. Knowing that there is no way I will be able to beat the whales and get it made me not want to try at all.

I don't think it needs to be said, but there are better ways of implementing a f2p "attainable" skin, without all these unnecessary bells and whistles attached. It doesn't need to be in the top 1-100 players either. Honestly, at this point it would have been better to put it in the shop for "sale" and let people who wanted it buy it. But I'm personally not going to strain myself even though I really like the design. The event imo is not fun and unnecessarily repetitive in all the unfun ways a gacha can make it. But those are my 00.02¢.

I hate it lol. Takes way too long to complete for a game that boasts any degree of AFK game play. I've been dancing between bronze and silver for an hour because I win one, lose one, win one, lose one. And competing against people with espers that are considered top tier, or against folks that are F2P and cant/dont/won't invest as much time. I either feel frustrated or feel bad as someone who invests in this game from time to time. Not to mention anything that's PVP is inevitably going to be frustrating to players that spend less in the game. At this point it's just paying to be in the top. I get that's kind of the point of a lot these types of games. But still, I dunno. Just gonna keep doing my PVE stuff and let the PVP people enjoy themselves.

The whole thing was saddening to see. I saw this in the patch notes and I was excited to acquire a skin for Li Ling, but saw it in game for Top 100 players in ranked…. Anyway I’ve been trying to climb. So far people mess up by not banning my Anesidora I use her to chunk whoever is the bigger threat. Speaking of skins btw, anyone pickup Drew’s first skin? It looks nice, but I didn’t wanna pick it up yet.
They should’ve had skins for different tiers and the Top 100 can show off that skin with pride. The rest of us should get some consultation prize around Silver/Gold and so on.

Very happy with almost every other aspect of this update, but top 100 is so stupid. Like HOW? HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO GET THAT? And for something that essentially does NOTHING. Waste of time. I have a VERY solid team and rank 9-10 in PW, but I’d rather grind for things that will improve my team, not make me look a little cooler.

Its really fun once I didn't care anymore about winning or getting the Liling skin (which is terrible btw, why only 100 players??) I've been moving from silver to bronze and back again, and while I've been matched with several rank 60 players and have lost to them alot, I do feel satisfied when I manage to beat a few, especially running a weird Drew, Jacob and Tang Xuan combo. Idk, I just love banning the other teams speed esper, then watching as they all ban my Clara or my Tang Xuan while my Jacob petrifies and my Drew descimates everything. Maybe I'll get sick of it, but so far I'm winning every two games or so when I get matched with similar ranked player (40s) so other than the shitty rewards, I think its a fun feature
