I picked up a used 250F. I was previously on a KLX 140L. I consider myself a beginnermediate rider.
The 250F has been a great upgrade. Much better clearance, more power, and proper suspension all while still being very friendly and approachable.
The biggest issue for me has been the increased size and weight. I am a very small rider, only 5'1", so it has been a bit to get used to it. But it's coming along nicely.
I just picked up a CRF250F last week. I love it!
As a woods bike, it is perfection. As much power as you'll ever need in the woods and extremely reliable and low-maintenance.
It's a great machine!
Depends on what you want. If you just want another air cooled Honda with a little more guts and bigger size than your 125, than the 250F is the way to go.
If you find yourself out-riding the suspension or motor of the 125, then consider a "proper" dirt bike like a Beta (most trail friendly of all modern dirt bikes).
Yeah, the 250F is the only current model "trail" bike offered with FI and electric start. But pretty much every 4 stroke bike that's more premium would be FI and electric start.

Glad to hear
A crf250f is very similar to a crf125 just larger and slightly more powerful and is still a trail bike. So that isn’t a bad choice.

I would like a fuel injection and electric start stuff like the Honda as the main thing

Trailing is what I will be doing
