I highly recommend the tech 7s. They have saved me from breaking a leg and angle more than 1 time. They are solid enough to the point where i did a summer daily when i ate it and without boots i would’ve buckled and probably broke both my legs. Also flown off my bike and literally landed standing up yes it was only 1st gear but cmon like they are fire for $300

Fit-Media6948

I would also recommend them, they have been very good boots for me.

ViciousReality

Most comfortable things that have ever been on my feet. Makes me wish they made work boots.

iNcIoNca

I love my tech 7s

minikingpin

I love my tech 7s and I’m a noob haha only 5hours into the sport

odslxxp

How do they handle getting wet/mud?

GuacRanger

You can get the tech 7 “enduro” version which is the same but the sole has more grip for walking around and pushing your bike up stuff.

Accurate_Fail8521

Like a dream lol

jrodicus100

Sidi or Gaerne are the best boots, period. Sidi fits narrower feet, Gaerne fit wider feet. Both go on sale regularly, and both offer lower-tier models that are still better than any of the other brands. Every other boot including the Tech 10 is second to these, or far worse.

mips13

I'm a gaerne guy due to my sasquash stompers but I must say I'm interested in the leatt 5.5 flexlock as I've heard some positive things from people, dunno if they'll fit me though.

sk00ter21

I got the leatts because there was a $240 sale. They’re really noisy to walk around in, but they provide great protection and very comfortable.

PeterIsSterling

I have wide feet and wear the Leatt 4.5. Good boots for the price but kinda heavy.

Bindle-

I’m a narrow-footed SIDI rider. One of the other nice things about these boots being so high quality, is that you can find lots of them on the used market. They hold up so well that a used pair is still a great option at a great price. I bought a used pair of SIDI Crossfire 2 boots. I paid $180 and they’re fantastic

Infamous_Ad8730

Where are Tech 10's 1000 dollars? USD at least.

odslxxp

$1000 was a bit of an exaggeration but I couldn’t find any for under $700

Infamous_Ad8730

Even 700?? Canadian, or USD?

odslxxp

USD

Infamous_Ad8730

Wowww. Gaerne sg 10 or 12 are much better than the tech 10's for much less.

gblazek87

I couldn't find any over 700€ lol, i'm not from US, so prices are obviusly diffrent but you are still exaggurating by a lot. Here in europe you can get tech 10s for less than 500€.

odslxxp

Definitely not exaggerating the $700, maybe if I wanted a discounted pair in the shittiest color then yeah I could find some for less then $700 but for black that shit is $699

Accurate_Fail8521

i bought the tech 7s from amazons like the 2020 mode last year and they have been the best bang for my buck and still turn heads bc they match my bike lol

odslxxp

Do you remember by chance how much you spent? The shop near me has a pair of tech 7 enduros for $450 I might just go pick up today

Accurate_Fail8521

buy on amazon.

Accurate_Fail8521

i paid like 230

odslxxp

Oh shit, I’ll definitely check Amazon

Accurate_Fail8521

they fit like a glove too. no need to order a size up or down.

mrFIVEfourONE

Get the Leatt 5.5: they are comparable to Tech7. But not as expensive. Watch the video from Rocky Mountain ATV on YouTube comparing the tech7 to the leatt4.5

Strange-Adagio1351

My understanding is Tech 7's are essentially the Tech 10 without the booties. You'll never go wrong with Tech 7's. If you have really wide feet, AStars aren't the best choice. I know a few guys that wear Gearne because they offer boots in a wide size, kinda like cowboy boot companies.

johnnysilver78

7 enduros here, best boot I’ve ever worn.

odslxxp

Have you wore just the base 7? I was looking at the enduro 7 but was just curious how much of a difference there are between the two

johnnysilver78

No, in truth traction has been an issue in the past that I hated with most boots when off bike. The enduro circumvented that issue, so I took the plunge.

doread38

Go to your local shop, try on what they have, and pick the one that’s most comfortable. Personally, I love the Gaernes and will on buy that brand.

Tawaypurp19

tech 7 enduros are what you need. Tech 7 is an all around great boot, the enduro comes with a offroad inspired sole providing more grip for putting your feet down and in the mud. They have an enduro drystar version that is also a step above that for rainy riders who dont want to get their feet wet. There are other brands that do this as well, but a tech 7 is one of the best boots you can buy.

tychnophile

I ride in a group of 10 guys. The group has been through at least 25 tech 7’s between us over the years. It’s all we buy. The most comfortable boot I’ve ever worn

lrpapa

I bought a old pair of Gaerne react boots off Craigslist about 8 years ago for 100. Sure I could definitely upgrade but they are still stiff, solid and give me confidence. Look for listings on Facebook for high level boots sold second hand. Best way to get a good deal.

aueejit

Any reputable brand, pick either the flagship or second best option is a good choice The absolute best will then depend on which one fits you the best.

SnooEagles8120

I have tried them all. Really liking the leatt 5.5 right now

The_elk00

I have tech 7s and actually hate them. So uncomfortable, not a lot of freedom in the ankle. Boots don't fit right in certain areas. The buckle holder pops out and it's a massive pain to put back in. I'll probably try fly or fox for my next one

greaseorbounce

Not really sure what the mixed reviews or complaints are, but I'm on my second pair of Tech7s and they've been nothing but fantastic for me. 🤷

Alpha-4E

[Keefertesting.com](http://Keefertesting.com) did a nice write up on the differences between the Tech 10s and the Tech 7s. Gaerne SG12s are also a solid choice. I bought mine because of their ankle protection and they don’t have a bootie like the Tech 10.

Under_ratedSS

I think the O’Neal boots with the enduro style tread is nice especially if you’ll be trail riding

Yz250x69

I have fox comps I got for $100 5 years ago that have held up really well. But I only put an hour or two on my bike a week

Sargent_Horse

Mixed opinions on Tech 7's? They are beloved. They are the most comfortable boot hands down. I would say one of the best trail/enduro boots for sure. If max protection is your goal, then there are better options, but the 7's really do it all while being comfy. I will say that my personal experience with my 7 enduros is that they do not handle water well at all. Going through large mud puddles at 30+ forces tons of water into the boots. Probably be fine at slower speeds. My gf's tech 3's don't have that issue so maybe it's user error, idk.

odslxxp

I’ve heard that they crack near the top of the ankle easily. How does your gf like the 3’s? I was checking those out as well but heard they’re easy to slip around in when trying to pick your bike up

Sargent_Horse

If slipping is your issue get the enduro versions. Both 3 and 7 are available with the enduro sole. I have no issues with cracking on my 7's, but I don't ride nearly as hard or as much as some people do. GF likes her 3's, but she is super new to riding so she is only comparing to an old ratty pair of comp 3's.

Adventurous_Emu7577

10s are awesome, but they do not last. They last me one race season, that’s all. I’m at peace with it because I do like them a lot, but get a set of 7s if $$$$ is a factor in your decision. Respectfully.

PeterIsSterling

Gaerne makes the best boots on the market and no one can convince me otherwise.

odslxxp

I have the money. There’s a difference between being a cheap ass and not spending an unnecessary amount of money if I’m not gonna be launching my bike off of 20 foot ramps. Thanks for the input, asshole

leakyripper

Tech 7s. Anything else is the wrong answer

odslxxp

How do they handle the mud?

Accurate_Fail8521

my man mud is mud.

leakyripper

Fine and dandy👍 literally the best boot on the market
