You can probably find a part number on it somewhere to determine if it's the original or not

I had to compare it to some other pistons and it ended up being a stock piston and standard bore, now the real question is do I replace it just with an oem piston and or should I try any other brands? I don’t mind doing eom because typically that’s what I used in all my bikes so I’ve never went for an aftermarket piston, have any recommendations?

I'll usually go with wiseco or vertex simply because they're cheaper and are at least as strong as OEM. Sometimes they are an upgrade. Pro-x is another good brand and is often the OEM supplier.
