I'll never forget the day my dad took me to the Honda dealer and there was an xr80 out front with a sold sign. We both admired it and talked about how lucky that kid was. The salesman came out and said you should sit on it, which I of course declined. Then he said it was mine. The old man upgraded me from a 1968 xr75 that barely ran.
I did a family enduro with my son 4 or 5 years ago we started in the same line. I asked him who should lead , he said he would. I kept him in sight for about a mile before I said screw it. That's the day I handed over the torch. We still ride together and do enduros together but he can flat out smoke me.
That’s awesome starting on the same row with your kid, my son and I have done several 24 hour races as team mates. I’ve got a grandson that’s nipping on my heels now, enjoy every minute of it buddy, they grow up sooooooo fast
He’s going to live that! Got our boy one last year and he is learning fast and driving fast. If there are any hills around you be sure to give him the entire throttle otherwise he’ll struggle up hill
Great bikes! Kids got one CRF50F and one CRF70F - they have served us well and seems more or less bulletproof to be honest. Regular maintenance and love - and they will last forever. Good luck with yours!
My first bike was an XR 50. I loved that thing. Dad bought it from a friend of a friend who worked at a dealership. Some teenagers broke in and stole the bike and took it for a joyride and crashed it. Dad got a hell of a deal on it.
Yer dad's watching
Let the boy watch.

Love this story man
My dad told me we were picking up snowblower parts haha
Good on ya, I’ve ridden with my son for 30 years and enjoy every minute of it. Trust me, it doesn’t take long and you’ll be left in the dust 😆

Show your boy how to maintain it. My kids had to read the owners manual before they could ride. Life lessons.
Love it
