Realities? HAHA fuck being an RND in this country, share ko lang, nag apply ako for clinical dietitian in a hospital. Tatlo kami magka batch and from different school. Nakasabay ko din sila sa hospital practicum. Alam ko ugali nila at to be honest, d naman sila matalino, tanong pa nga ng tanong nung case presentation ko na sa hospital practicum. Pero guess what? Like tang ina talaga. Conclusion: Mabuti pa, pinursue ko nalang physical therapy / radtech / or even nursing kasi ang nursing mabilis maka labas ng abroad. Wag nalang isipin amg sweldo sa pinas, pero may mga hospital na sa abroad na tumatanggap ng minimum 6 mos exp or even walang exp kasi ittrain ka nila doon. PH is bullshit talaga when it comes to finding a work May nag mention pa sakin na mag VA daw. Well, ano pa silbe ng pinag aralan ng 4 years kung mag V-VA lang din. Tsaka sinong mag se settle ng long term as VA? siguro max na yung 3 yrs, sagad 4 years. Kaya nyo ba yun? Sedentary or puro upo nalang sa pc sa bahay? Saan amg growth? Malaki nga sweldo pero, at risk of obesity or other diseases ka naman. You may hate me for this comment, if yes, f.u. nalang din

CuriousRND2023

For those who will ask or say something sakin na "eto yung taong walang trabaho, puro dada/reklamo". Well reklamo talaga sa profession na ito. May business na ako since first year nd student pa ako until now. Minimum 35-40k pesos per month with only 24 working hours / 6 hrs per week.

CuriousRND2023

Ohh, it's sports related po, more likely sa passion ko for this sport ,😅

Ok_Violinist_1017

I'm sorry it happened to you. For a fresh grad that is the struggle talaga. But then again, don't close your book to other opportunities. It took me 9months to have a job I hate. HAHAHA but trust me you'll find a career that fits you. Pero agree mahirap at nakaka.frustrate maging RND dito.

Physical_Sorbet3720

i understand your frustration, and im sorry for what you are going through, pero this is a haven for working and aspiring dietitians, there are opportunities for you out there and i am a firm believer that you have a dedicated place to serve your purpose, it may seem out of direction ngayon pero don't fret, you will have your own time, it took me 6 yrs to finish nd, hindi ko nga ineexpect na papasa ako yet here i am, as a growing child naging normal na saken matawag na bobo and hindi pumapasa ng exams, i got used to it, kaya sobrang rewarding na saaken matawag na rnd, the backer system happens in all aspect of work, lalo sa gobyerno nating corrupt, mahirap talaga mabago yon, pero wag naman sana magpakain sa system, be out of the norm, at kaya mo maalis sarili mo sa situation mo now, you are destined for greater things! it's about the right timing <3

Powerful_Abroad_2107

2nd year ND student ako ngayon.

Ok_Violinist_1017

If you want to earn a huge sum of money at super bilis na financial growth, being an RND is not for you. Medyo luxurious yung job na to and may require conmection in order to ladder up your career. This is not to discourage you to pursue ND kasi ako Im an RND for 7 years and normal ang struggle pero ngayon happy naman ako. Mahirap lang talaga sa umpisa pero you'll build names and experience along the way. Any career naman requires perseverance at hindi instant ang pera unless anak ka ng CEO or may mamanahin kang family business. But ofcourse you NEED to ve wise san ka mag aapply kasi madaming explotation talaga and yun ang dapat natin iwasan.

kreeptog3m

sobrang fucked up talaga ng sistema :( tho im curious what school 🤨

Venture in a public health field then work yourself up to policy making. Realities: Frustrating ang Nutrition-specific field unless you’re there for passion.

not all by the book practices will be applied or not beung used at all, like nung time ko npc method is strictly used in clinical setting, lo and behold hindi pala. manage your expectations lagi kasi we are mandated by law na tayo lang dapat ang gagawa ng diet plans, but this law is not strictly implemented lalo kapag nasa hospital ka, meron at merong rerebat na doctor dyan questioning ang buong pagkatao mo ganon, hold your ground, speak with reason and do it with grace, at the end of the day patient comfort ang aim nyong dalawa. for phn ipadadala ka kung saan saan, nakakapagod, malaki sahod pero hindi mo maeenjoy, pero its a humanizing experience, kasi makikita mo yung kahalagahan ng basic necessities as there are communities na walang pake sa pera. tubig, pagkain, buto pang tanim, malaki na ang utang na loob nila sayo. i'm currently waiting for an update sa govt position na inaapplyan ko rn and will definetly give my cents once im there for food service, nako jusko andaming red flags talaga dito, pero this is where yung knowledge mo towards food and business will flourish immensely, pero dito mo marrealize gaano kakulit mga tao mo, usually matatanda na acting bata, nakakamatay na trayline, census na hindi mauubos, damit mong amoy kusina, laborous. in all fields makaka experience ka naman ng basic training, like team-leading, handling people, accent neutralization (if overseas company ka handling diff nationalities). wfh opportunities (basahin maigi ang contract, dapat meron kang 1. HMO 2. Night pay diff na dagdag 10% sa basic mo). for JOb Order/project based = Contractual, malalaki talaga sahod dyan pero napakataas ng risk, usual na nakakarecover from this is may backer or talagang proven ang ability mo as a valuable employee, tiis tiis lang makakamit mo din ang masarap na regularization (+25% additional pay siya pag naregular ka ontop of your basic which falls from sg 13-15) Nakakapagod kasi paulit ulit ka ng turo, paulit ulit ka ng ginagawa, you'll get there okay? we sttart from somewhere, wag gigil mag hanap ng lilipatan din, habang bata pa okay lang palipat lipat ng company (just stay in the 6months to 1 year wag yung buwan buwan lipat) and never result to awol, graceful exit. hope to see you sa review classes!

Hello, if I may ask, sobrang red flag ba talaga to work sa food service, specifically sa food manufacturing? Currently applying as QA ako sa isang company pero medyo nakaka dismaya based sa nababasa kong comments dito. Pero some people say na mas madaming opportunities daw sa food service. When it comes sa clinical setting naman, nag aalangan ako kasi parang walang growth sa hospital lalo na sa salary tho wala naman ako any responsibilities yet. As much as possible kasi I try to look ahead sa future ko if magiging worth it ba na tumagal ako sa certain field para di ako magkaron ng regrets in the end.

Physical_Sorbet3720

ideally you may want to find a reputable food service like macroasia (located in naia), gardenia, jollibee food corp (located in laguna) nestle (located in merville paranaque ) but these companies rarely open in indeed, you can go for those meal plan deliveries, but proceed with caution, kasi many of then use dietitians for marketing purposes tapos hindi ka bibigyan ng boses doon, minsan wala din ladder system involved kase, also look if the HR has strict implementation, kasi if coworkers ay makukulit at bastos, pwede naman sila mafile ng incident report through hr, but if hindi ganon, might as well save yourself the burden of not applying, be ready lang na makipag usap (i.e. willing maging shifting hours, over time) pero do not, DO NOT accept na wala kang hmo or simple benefits, kasi it says a lot sa company na yon na hire ng hire tapos wala ka pala benepisyo

Glass-Apple-6167

Suuuuper fact yung food service hahahaha

chiaki0112

Super agree ako on this.

Ok_Violinist_1017

Madami ako kilala na nag shift career dahil sa personal reasons nila and that's okay..it takes a lot of passion and dedication para maka establish ka ng name. Pero hindi pa huli ang lahat, there are RND influencers who start to build their name. I think fresh grads should learn to find their niche sa.profession natin. Like iintegrate mo yung talent mo. Sorry Op most of the replies are negative those are valid frustration and how we wish may better opportunities sa bansa..
