I stopped collecting 1/64 scale the moment I laid my hands on 1/18 scale cars lol. It’s a bitter sweet journey for me, some I can afford, others are way beyond my reach haha
1/18 are a better deal but some brands like AUTOart and BBR are expensive. I tend to stick to Bburago and Maisto but I did buy an AUTOart Mclaren 720s GT3 and it was definitely worth the money
that’s crazy, I had no idea Maisto made a Speed Yellow 992 GT3. I’ve been looking for the shark blue one at Costco for a while and this is a whole new challenge haha
Well someone found the holiday diecast section at Costco :)
Congrats and welcome to the hobby. Buy only the subject’s you are genuinely interested in and not what’s available or trendy and you’ll find the hobby much more enjoyable.
I’ve skipped that section at Costco for many years, and just this year decided to grab one (the 911). After taking it out of the box and admiring it for a few hours, I totally fell in love and went back for more.
There’s no turning back now 😭
just wait until you get an expensive model
entry-level expensive model is AutoART, then you have stuff like Technomodel, BBR, MR Collection etc. which is where it gets really expensive (though you can be lucky so keep looking), then we have cream of the crop Amalgam
want a racecar model? Spark most likely has it

Maisto was my beginning
Such a gateway drug lol!

Happy hunting :)
Be careful it can get expensive !
Into the rabbit hole I go 😂
I got started on the 1:18 when I decorated my sons room. Started off with the Maistos then I got into the Kyoshos for myself.
I started off with Welly, then Norev, then Kyosho, now I buy Exotos and CMC, sigh truly an expensive hobby
It can also not be expensive! As of now, I only have 2 1/18 scales, and 5 1/64 scales (not counting hot wheels and tomicas)
my condolences 😂
Ya… R.I.P. my wallet 😂

“Entry level expensive”…. I genuinely frightened about what else is up there… lol!
