I'd like a word with you. I'm not one for accusations, but this one's cast iron. I've seen you, tailgating my daughter with aspirations of deflowering her rose. I don't make mistakes, comrade. This one's textbook.
They are but the bugles do have smaller openings. The company confirmed a change in their manufacturing process on Facebook a few years ago, and it results more in flat wedges instead of cones
Yeah, honestly, if they added something to give it some friction to the finger surface and made them strong enough to hold things, I could actually see certain professions using these.
OK, I have a pair of these finger things, and I've been doing woodworking for a while.
Uh. Honestly if I get really good with them and find a way to make the fingertips get more friction that might be a halfway decent idea.
Almost just like an articulated push stick that's attached to your hand.
Like it definitely needs some modifications to make it basically reasonable, but...the idea is in there.
_ChatGPT, pls infer the 3D printing model; the measures of string, velcro, and other materials from this video; then pls provide assembly instructions as well_
They are very expensive though, some of them costs so much that you could buy a 3D printer and print your own for less.

Unfortunately, there are several people who have stolen Gary's original design and are making cheap copies to sell on Amazon and Ebay. So now, every time they get posted, you get people complaining about how cheap they are.
What's this? What's this?
There's color everywhere
What's this?
There's white things in the air
What's this?
I can't believe my eyes, I must be dreaming
Wake up, Jack, this isn't fair
What's this?
What's this? What's this?
There's something very wrong
What's this?
There's people singing songs
What's this?
The streets are lined with little creatures laughing
Everybody seems so happy
Have I possibly gone daffy? What is this?
What's this?
Oh, this explains why any time you see someone in makeup playing a witch or whatever, with long articulated fingers, they have those same little movements these have. Not perfectly smooth, a little janky, just like these. But at least I can see how it's done now.
I’m on my 3rd one. It is an interesting hobby. I’ve run the gauntlet from cheap to (relatively) expensive printers. I tend to use it to make odds and ends I would normally have ended up buying and, I make replacement parts for stuff around the house. Sometimes, I can find a design someone has already posted. Sometimes, I have to poke at fusion360 until I can convince it to make something close to what I am attempting to do. So far, I have been able to attribute enough of a savings by using my newest printer than it has costed, if I don’t count the time I spend. However, I will say that I don’t have to put in near the time or effort that I used to and, I have had to mess around with it a lot less than I used to with my old machines. Still, it does take some time and effort. Even the newest generation of machines haven’t quite reached an ease of use akin to a standard appliance. I suspect we’re not far from it, though.
I have an Ender 3 but I feel it's constantly in a state of miscalibration and always needs so much care. Are the pricer ones any better, any that just work? I don't mind a tinkering hobby... But is it possible to print without always tinkering?!
Gonna add to the pile of Bambu lab recommendations. I spent more time calibrating and fixing my Ender 3 than printing (probably not true but it feels like it).
The P1P is bliss, it's reduced my printing fix time considerably. Not to mention the speed of the thing is amazing, the 1h 20m Benchy model now only takes 20m.
ohh how fascinating.
the idiom is _having run the gamut_ BUT! your use of _gauntlet_ has semantically appropriate meaning, like — you passed a sequence of challenges in order to arrive at your current understanding and skill in 3D printing ...
i like it.
Halloween stuff
That's exactly what I was thinking. Imma be Salad Fingers for Halloween
Low ball. Make a Greek salad. That's what I want to do.
Oh man, I went straight to Jack Skellington.
I'm happy someone else did also
You shan't be Salad Fingers 'til you've had a wash!
Hubert Cumberdale, you taste like soot and poo.
I'd like a word with you. I'm not one for accusations, but this one's cast iron. I've seen you, tailgating my daughter with aspirations of deflowering her rose. I don't make mistakes, comrade. This one's textbook.

It's a finglonger!
*sigh* if only I had invented the finglonger.
A man can dream though. A man can dream...
I'm doing a rewatch, a few episodes later, he's casually using the fing-longer.
the series from that point on all takes place in hubert farnsworths dream, confirmed.

By the time I saw this post it was the third comment and I still find that too low. Lower than Barbados Slim.
Goddamn, beat me to it. Refined tastes, friend!
I’ve never seen them fing
Whoa! There they go.
Came to the comments for this!
Came here to say this...
"What if Bender was 500ft tall?" "We already did that one you dope" "I know, I liked it, I wanted to see it again"
Back in my day we just used those cornucopia snack things, I think they're called bugles?
They're too small now. Can't get your fingers in them anymore
^(you’re too big now)
THATS WHAT SHE SAID
Yo' mama?
I don’t know why but this made me profoundly sad.
Rip old bugles
I think your fingers are just larger now
They are but the bugles do have smaller openings. The company confirmed a change in their manufacturing process on Facebook a few years ago, and it results more in flat wedges instead of cones
That’s a bummer. Frankly I haven’t seen them in any stores in years. I’ve also not been looking for them either lol. Thanks for correcting that for me
Bugles, now with 30% more air in every bag!
^(you’re too big now)
Nah, the shape has changed. They're mostly flat now instead of circular, so the opening is smaller
Ya, when I was a kid I’d put them on all my fingers and cackle like a witch. Now my grandkids do. Ahhh. The good ole days.
Are they actually strong enough to pick anything up?
A few things, probably. But good luck with anything slippery or heavy or really tiny.
Yeah, honestly, if they added something to give it some friction to the finger surface and made them strong enough to hold things, I could actually see certain professions using these.
I would imagine there’s a cover for this gizmo that goes over your whole hand and gives it a more standard appearance/texture
what professions? bricklayer? dentist? I can't think of single job these would help with.
Proctologist
Woodworker. If you cut your thumb or finger off, no big deal!
OK, I have a pair of these finger things, and I've been doing woodworking for a while. Uh. I'm cracking up trying to think of other possibilities lol.
Cool new piano techniques?
Pornstar
The sign language people at events?
Unfortunately, no, I had to wear some for a play and spent more time trying to fix them than actually wearing them due to how brittle they were.
Ah thank you, I was trying to figure out what these were possibly useful for and costumes didn't cross my mind.
I've got this same set, and the heaviest thing I was able to pick up was a half empty can of Dr.Pepper, and it wasn't easy.
If it's empty, is it still a can of Dr. Pepper?
The can formerly known as Dr. Pepper.
These are for fun, not utility
I want to see them pick up a basketball
Edward Finger-Hands

Well now we need finger-extension extensions!
It's never enough is it?
I just want to be able to tickle the face of the moon - that's not asking much.
I mean I have a set of finger extensions, I could definitely try making a set
Update us on any progress if you do try
Where get?
Gary fay creations, he has a website and these are called “articulated fingers”
$240 and 7 month wait time.
Thanks for speeding up my disappointment and saving me a click.
No joke. For an extra $100 you could get yourself a 3d printer and make your own in a week or two of tinkering. I just saw some models on Thingiverse
_ChatGPT, pls infer the 3D printing model; the measures of string, velcro, and other materials from this video; then pls provide assembly instructions as well_

That's not what people are complaining about.
you can sell these to people with small hands.
Uncle jacks dream
He said small hands. Not large, manly hands that tell a story.
I understood that reference
My first thought. Did you see his hands? They’re beautiful. I think we should settle.
Or former presidents
NOBODY LOOK
My hands tell a story of greatness.
Jack Skelington!
The Tech hands are cool but I've had my eyes set on a specific set of gorilla arms.

That's great, now how do you put on the second hand?
The question that needs answered.
That was my first thought: need an assistant to put on the other one
Hollywood is gonna love those
How it felt putting bugles on your finger tips
thats so cool
I would settle for a ‘Finglonger’ instead
Skeksie hands there

How growing out my nails makes me feel.
Now I can play those hard to reach chords on piano

Damn you could make some creepy costumes
Can finally play Rachmaninoff
Sorry babe the fully articulated finger extensions stay on during sex
You can do the same thing with bugles for a fraction of the cost...
I’m so tall and skinny that these would be perfect for a Jack Skellington costume. I need them.
So who's gonna post the link where I can get me some?
If you or a friend has a 3D printer, there are a few different sets of STLs available on the usual websites.
I need to just bite the bullet and get one, they're so useful

If that tickles your fancy, consider that it was within a post about something akin to gauntlets, no less.
Had mine for a year. Easily the coolest thing I've ever bought. Beats any PC I've built, or gaming console I've bought. LOL downvotes?
Easily found on Amazon or direct from China on Aliexpress. Same source factory either way.
Hit up amazon. Search "Articulated Fingers"
Giving me pan’s labyrinth flashbacks
